  • Image is composed of the digital numbers including information on natural phenomena, their condition and the kind of objects. Digital numbers change in geometric correction(that is preprocessing). This change of digital numbers gave an effect on results of land-cover classification. We intend to know the influence of resampling as classifying land-cover using the image reconstructed by geometric correction in this paper. Chun-cheon basin was selected the study area having most variable land-cover pattern in North-Han river valley and made on use of RESTEC data resampled in preprocessing. Land-cover is classified as six classes of LEVEL I using maximum likelyhood classification method. We classified land-cover using the image resampled by two methods in this study. Bilinear interpolation method was most accurate in five classes except bear-land in the result of comparing each class with topographic map. We should choose the method of resampling according to the class in which we put the importance in the image resampling of geometric correction. And if we use four-season's image, we may classify more accurately in case of the confusion in case of the confusion in borders of rice field and farm.

  • Products developed in this research is a software which can transfer the type of shape(.shp) into the type of ascii using the land cover data and the topography data in the metropolitan area of Seoul. In addition, it can calculate the $CO_2$ flux according to distribution of plants within the land cover data. The $CO_2$ flux is calculated by the experimental equation which is compose of the meteorological parameters such as the solar radiation and the air temperature. The net flux was shown in about $-19ton/km^2$ by removing $CO_2$ through the photosynthesis during daytime, and in 2 ton/km2 by producing it through the respiration during nighttime on 10 August 2004, the maximum day of air temperature during the period of 3yr(2001 to 2004), in the metropolitan area of Seoul. Spatial distribution of the air temperature and the wind field is simulated by substituting the middle classification of the land cover map data, upgraded by the Korean Ministry of Environment(KME), for the land-use data of the United States Geological Survey(USGS) within the Meteorological Mesoscale Model Version 5(MM5) on 10 August 2006 in the metropolitan area of Seoul. Difference of the air temperature between both data was shown in the maximum range of $-2^{\circ}C\;to\;2.9^{\circ}C$, and the air temperature due to the land use data of KME was higher than that of USGS in average $0.4^{\circ}C$. Also, those of wind vectors were meanly lower than that of USGS in daytime and nighttime. Furthermore, the hourly time series of Volatile Organic Components(VOCs) is calculated by using the Biosphere Emission and Interaction System Version 2(BEIS2) including the new land cover data and the meteorological parameters such as the air temperature and so]ar insolation. It is possible to calculate the concentration of ozone due to the biogenic emission of VOCs.

  • For a proper use of the integrated real estate information, there must be a process on linking the information of buildings and land data. This study aims to enhance the location information of the buildings on the digital topographic map by assigning the coordinates on the building layout plan of the Building Registers which does not have a positional information based on the cadastral boundary of the cadastral map. Also, the land and building attribute information are managed in various official registers and systems which are overlapped each other. The overlapped information must be corrected based on legislation. Therefore this study introduces a comprehensive attribute information excluding any overlapped information. In other words, this study proposes a single advanced real estate information by integrating the attribute information and the separated real estate information(buildings and land).

  • This study has proposed a methodology to detect suspicious facilities that occupy national and public land by using the cadastral and digital maps. First, we constructed a spatial database of national & public land based on the cadastral maps by linking its management ledger. Using the PNU (Parcel Number) code as a key field, the data managed by different institutions are integrated into a single spatial information DB (database) and then, the use or nonuse state of each parcel is confirmed on the cadastral map. Next, we explored the suspicious facilities that existed in the unused parcel by utilizing the digital topographical map. Then, the proposed methodology was applied for various regions and tested its feasibility. Through this study, it will be possible to improve the utilization of digital maps and to manage the national and public land efficiently and economically.

  • this study was focused on the effects of fire on spatial change of vegetation landscape in rural region. Fire types recognized as erown fire, severe surface fire and light surface fire in order of increasing intensity were described in a fire map. GIS was introduced to understand the relationship between fire types and topographic conditions or vegetation types. We also investigated land-use type and regeneration strategies after burning. Fire intensity depended on topographic conditions and vegetation types. Special land-use type in this area was collection of edible mushroom (Tricholoma matsutake). Mushrooms had been obtained from Pinus densiflora forests existing as edaphic climax or managed artificially. Regeneration strategy in burned areas was to make sprouts from burned oak stumps. A higher density and growth rate of sprouts, as compared to those on unburned areas, facilitated vegetation succession from P. densiflora forest to oak forest and consequently led to change of landscape pattern.

  • Yangyang Gangwon-do has begun the clearing of upland forested areas for development. This process has caused great damage from natural hazards such as landslides and flooding for many years. Moreover, proper hazard prevention strategies have not Yet been prepared. To provide useful information for developing hazard prevention strategies this study attempted to detect areas vulnerable to flooding in Yangyang using data such as topology, meteorology, history, land use, soil, hydrology, and society. It was found that roughly 30% of the study area was vulnerable to flooding. Also it was discovered that where the vulnerability index was high, there was increased amounts of flooding. The most vulnerable areas were where forests were cut and near livers. In addition, areas where frequent hazard events were reported had a high index of vulnerability. The results of this study will provide useful information in developing hazard prevention strategies.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop techniques acquiring hydrologic parameters that affect runoff conditions from Landsat imagery. Runoff conditions in a study area were analyzed by employing the U.S. Soil Conservation Service(SCS) Method. SCS runoff curve numbers(CN) were estimated by the computer analysis of Landsat imagery and digiral terrain model(DTM) data. The SCS Method requires land use/cover and soil conditions of the area as input parameters. A land use/cover map of 5 hydrological classes was produced from the Landsat multi-spectral scannerr imagery. Slope-gradient and contour and contour maps were also made using the DTM topographic data. Inundation areas depending on reservoir levels were able to be mapped on the Landsat scene by combining the contour data.

  • The methodology on digital cadastre(World Geodetic System Conversion) needs to be specified because the primary target site is discussed for large national estate such as road, river etc. on nationwide. Comprehensively reviews on similar cases and literature reviews to make a methodology for digital cadastre on large national estate, cadastral map revision is required before converting to World Geodetic System. The revisions are on subdivision survey or the other surveys to the necessary area through inspection of geometry and attributes. And the researcher pointed out the need of registration conversion and union of parcel to remove small parcel or to remove the inconsistency of land use type. Basically a systematic maintenance of cadastral map is necessary because the World Geodetic System Conversion unresolved the poor cadastral map quality to digital cadastre on large national estate.

  • In this paper we consider a novel reconstruction method in electrical impedance tomography (EIT) and its application for monitoring and detecting a hydrargyrum (mercury) polluted soil near to the surface of underground. We use electrodes placed on the surface of land to collect the data which provides the relations of voltage and current map and to produce a projected image of interior conductivity distribution onto the surface of land. Here the projected image reconstruction method is used to monitor the pollution in soil underneath the ground without any destruction and any digging into a land.
