  • The progressive die are multiple operations performed by means of a die having above two stages, on the each of stages performs a different operation as the sheet metal passes through the die hole. In the field of design and making tool for press working, the progressive die for sheet metal (STS 304, thickness : 0.5mm) is a specific division. in order to prevent the defects, the optimum design of the production part, strip layout, die design, die making and tryout etc. are necessary. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, i.e. theory and practice of metal press working and its phenomena, die structure, machining condition for die making, die materials, heat treatment of die components, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and constructed a progressive die of multi-stage and performed try out. Out of these processes the die development could be taken for advance. Especially the result of tryout and its analysis become the characteristics of this paper (part 1 and part 2) that nothing might be ever seen before such as this type of research method on all the processes. In the part 1 of this study we treated die design mostly.

Measurement Accuracy of Blood Glucose Test on the Forearm (전완 부위 혈당검사의 정확도 분석)

  • The present study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the blood glucose test with almost painless vacuum assisted auto-lancing technique. The blood glucose concentration measurements in the capillary blood sampled from the alternative (forearm) site were compared with the standard venous or finger sampling techniques. Capillary blood was sampled from both the left index finger and the forearm, followed by the venous blood sampling in 531 patients who visited the C University Hospital. Blood sugar test was performed for each blood samples for comparative analysis. Mean blood glucose concentration measured on the forearm was closer to the venous glucose level than that of the finger, but the difference was approximately 10 mg/dL small enough to ignore from the clinical point of view. The correlation coefficients of the measured blood glucose levels between finger and vein and between forearm and vein were 0.94 and 0.92, respectively (p<0.001). The blood glucose measurement on the forearm also well correlated with the finger, showing a correlation coefficient of 0.94, and both data were very much close to each other. Therefore, the blood sugar test on the alternative capillary blood sampling site such as forearm was accurate enough for clinical practice. The vacuum assisted auto-lancing technique on the alternative site would be of particular interest for the disease management of the chronic diabetes, since it induces almost no pain when sampling blood from the capillaries.

  • 한국전력연구원은 로봇제어기술과 가상현실기술을 접목하는 과정의 일환으로 로봇작업을 3D 그래픽으로 가시화(Visualization) 하는 연구를 수행하고 있다 본 논문에서는 원자력발전소 증기발생기 내부에 발생하는 슬러지를 제거하기 위한 로봇시스템과 그 작업내용의 3차원 Visualization 시스템 개발에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 본 시스템은 Microsoft사의 제작툴인 DirectX를 그래픽엔진으로 사용하였으며 C++로 작성되어있어 매우 개방적인 구조를 가지고 있어 타 분야로의 적용이 용이하다.

Effect of 20 % EDTA Aqueous Solution on Defective Tubes (Alloy600) in High Temperature Chemical Cleaning Environments (고온화학세정환경에서 20 % EDTA 용액이 결함 전열관 (Alloy600)에 미치는 영향)

  • The transport and deposition of corrosion products in pressurized water nuclear reactor (PWR) steam generators have led to corrosion (SCC, denting etc.) problems. Lancing, mechanical cleaning and chemical cleaning have been used to reduce these problems. The methods of lancing and mechanical cleaning have limitations in removing corrosion products due to the structure of steam generator tubes. But high temperature chemical cleaning (HTCC) with EDTA is the most effective method to remove corrosion products regardless of the structure. However, EDTA in chemical cleaning aqueous solution and chemical cleaning environments affects the integrity of materials used in steam generators. The nuclear power plants have to perform the pre-test (also called as qualification test (QT)) that confirms the effect on the integrity of materials after HTCC. This is one of the series studies that assess the effect, and this study determines the effects of 20 % EDTA aqueous solution on defective tubes in high temperature chemical cleaning environments. The depth and magnitude of defects in steam generator (SG) tubes were measured by eddy current test (ECT) signals. Surface analysis and magnitude of defects were performed by using SEM/EDS. Corrosion rate was assessed by weight loss of specimens. The ECT signals (potential and depth %) of defective tubes increased marginally. But the lengths of defects, oxides on the surface and weights of specimens did not change. The average corrosion rate of standard corrosion specimens was negligible. But the surfaces on specimens showed traces of etching. The depth of etching showed a range on the nanometer. After comprehensive evaluation of all the results, it is concluded that 20 % EDTA aqueous solution in high temperature chemical cleaning environments does not have a negative effect on defective tubes.

  • The production part requiring multiple processes such as piecing, blanking and notching, are performed with a high production rates in progressive die. In order to prevent the dejects of process result, the optimum of strip process layout design, die design, die making, and tryout with inspection etc. are needed. According to these factors of die development process, they required theory and practice of metal working process and its phenomena, die structure, machining conditions for die making, die materials, heat treatment of die camponents, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and analyzed die camponents also simulated the strip process layout of multiple stage drawing by DEFORM. Especially the result of tryout and its analysis become to the feature of this study.

  • 본 연구는 채혈바늘에 의해 발생하는 2차 감염을 방지하기 위한 안전 랜싯(Lancet)을 설계 개발하고 연속하여 채혈하는 경우에 쉽게 그리고 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 무선 전동방식의 채혈기를 설계제작을 목적으로 한다. 안전랜싯은 채혈침과 보호캡이 일체형으로 설계되어 채혈 순간을 제외하고는 채혈침이 항상 보호캡 속에 있도록 하여 채혈바늘에 의한 사고를 방지하도록 하였다. 전동 채혈기는 충전건전지를 전원으로 하고 솔레노이드의 작동으로 랜싯을 타격하여 채혈하도록 설계되었으며, 연발 타격 또는 단발타격의 기능을 선택하도록 설계 제작되었다. 이 채혈기는 한방병의원의 사혈기로도 사용되도록 제작되었다.
