  • Recently, the attraction for water-based ink is increasing, Because Solvent ink, based on organic solvent, cause bad effect on environment and rise the cost. Instead of organic solvent that cause environment pollution as well as cost-rise by rise of petroleum price, Binder based on alkali-soluble resin is popular and studied by many other country. However, in domestic, research and development for alkali-soluble resin is not like, because of lack of understanding environmental pollution and safety, therefor alkali-soluble resin development and research for the properties of the water-based ink used by alkali-soluble resin is not study very well. In this paper, we studied dispersion of carbon black in acrylic resin solution and the properties of water-based ink used by carbon black and acrylic binder.

  • This article aims to discuss the barriers hindering cancer patients from receiving early palliative care, which has been demonstrated to be more effective in improving quality of life and controlling symptoms. Specifically, there are barriers in four aspects of delivering early palliative care. First, the difficulty of starting discussions about early palliative care and the lack of adequate appointment time can impede communication between oncologists and patients and their family members. Second, determining the timing of referral and deciding upon and applying a standard for referral can be barriers in the process of referral from oncology to palliative care. Third, palliative care patients and their family members can face difficulties regarding in what format and by whom the services will be delivered. Fourth, biases, misinformation, and inaccurate beliefs can be barriers in the process of patients and their family members accepting care. In order to facilitate early palliative care, research and policy regarding these barriers are necessary, along with efforts made by medical staff.

  • In these days, innovative functions are required to unmanned parcel delivery lockers. As non-face-to-face transactions become the center due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, many problem occurs in society such as theft crimes and lack of loading space. Therefore, New concept storage device is developed in korea. It has the functions that minimizes empty spaces by using the internal transport device to enable efficient space loading and refrigerate goods such as foods. In order to systematically approach the system design of the unmanned parcel delivery lockers which is the new function is applied, We applied model-based system engineering to improve the development efficiency and use a system modeling language to express the system. We conducted interworking research of CAD data including system modeling and design data. it is expected that this method will increase the effective development efficiency such as maintenance traceability and reduction of development period and cost.

  • Recently, many videos such as online lecture videos caused by COVID-19 have been generated. However, due to the limitation of working hours and lack of cost, they are only a part of the videos with subtitles. It is emerging as an obstructive factor in the acquisition of information by deaf. In this paper, we try to develop a system that automatically generates subtitles using voice recognition and generates subtitles by separating sentences using the ending and time to reduce the time and labor required for subtitle generation.

  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a vital instrument for delivering a number of services such as education, healthcare and public services. Community wireless networks are community-centric telecommunication infrastructure developed to provide affordable communication for those who live in remote areas. This chapter discusses the role of Nepal Wireless in achieving socio economic development of rural communities by facilitating affordable Internet access. We analyze the challenges Nepal Wireless faced and articulate on the approaches it took to address those challenges such as lack of technical skills, appropriate technology and funding, difficult geographical terrains, unstable political situation, and expensive devices. In addition, we address the success and failure factors of this community-based ICT4D approach in order to guide similar endeavors. We conclude the chapter by some suggestions for policy makers, community developers, and academicians.

  • In order to improve performance in IoT, edge computing system, a memory is usually configured in a hierarchical structure. Based on the distance from CPU, the access speed slows down in the order of registers, cache memory, main memory, and storage. Similar to the change in performance, energy consumption also increases as the distance from the CPU increases. Therefore, it is important to develop a technique that places frequently used data to the upper memory as much as possible to improve performance and energy consumption. However, the technique should solve the problem of cache performance degradation caused by lack of spatial locality that occurs when the data access stride is large. This study proposes a technique to selectively place data with large data access stride to a software-controlled cache. By using the proposed technique, data spatial locality can be improved by reducing the data access interval, and consequently, the cache performance can be improved.

  • This study proposed a soft skill integration activity for online EFL classrooms and investigated student responses. Toward this end, this study recruited 54 college students taking an English Presentation and Discussion class in South Korea. Participants were assigned into high and low-proficiency groups based on the Test of English for International Communication. This study employed questionnaire, class video recordings, and interview to obtain responses. Moreover, problem-based learning with challenge questions was applied to develop soft skills in online synchronous classes. Responses were examined in terms of whether a difference existed according to English proficiency. Major findings of this study were as follows. Regardless of proficiency levels, participants reported improvements in their IT and problem-solving skills and exhibited positive attitudes toward live online presentations via Zoom. However, this study observed significant differences in communication and teamwork skills, perceived learning, and confidence. Interviews with students with low English proficiency levels revealed that they were negatively affected by the lack of non-verbal cues, mechanical skills, and socialization time provided by online classes. Based on these results, pedagogical implications and directions for future studies are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how the communication barriers which patients have at the dental clinic affect the patient's satisfaction and long term sustainable relationship. The subjects of this study were 214 patients from the dental clinic and the analysis was conducted using PASW Statistics 18.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 21. As the results of factor analysis, the communication barriers were divided to four factors: one-sided communication, lack of trust and concern, patient and environment. In conclusion, the results of this study showed that the communication barriers which patients have with hygienist affected the patient's satisfaction and long term sustainable relationship. So It is imperative that the hygienist makes a concerted effort to ensure the comfort and trust of their patients. In cases where a patient shows discomfort or dissatisfaction, it is important that the hygienist guarantees open communication to the patient in order to gain their trust. Failing to do so may result in difficulties when trying to build a strong client base.

  • The Energy Management System (EMS) communicates with power plants and substations, monitors the substations and plant operational status of the transmission and substation system for stability, continuity, real-time, and economy of power supply, and controls power plants and substations. Currently, the power exchange EMS communicates with power plants and substations based on the serial communication-based Distributed Network Protocol (DNP) 3.0 protocol. However, problems such as the difficulty of supply and demand of serial communication equipment and the lack of installation space for serial ports and modems are raised due to the continuous increase in new facilities to perform communication, including renewable power generation facilities. Therefore, this paper presents a TCP/IP-based communication method instead of the existing serial communication method of the power exchange EMS, and presents a security risk analysis that may occur due to changes in the communication method and a countermeasure to the security risk.
