In this paper, we try to solve the frequency shortage due to the increase of LTE terminals and the traffic jam caused by the inefficient WiFi connection method. The proposed LTE-WIFI Vertical Handover method uses a pre-authentication method of the AP through LTE and a method of controlling the access AP of the terminal using the RADIUS server. Through the simulation, the proposed method shows that the access speed of the AP is improved by about 95% compared to the conventional connection method, and the connection speed is improved by about 18% compared to the conventional method. Providing seamless AP through pre-authentication system and improving wireless network speed through AP access distribution can solve LTE frequency shortage problem and improve wireless network usage satisfaction.
Despite the exponential throughput improvement in mobile communications systems, their ability to satisfy requirements of state-of-the-art and future applications of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is still under investigation. Challenges are mainly due to the inadequacy of third generation partnership project (3GPP) networks to support large amounts of devices simultaneously, while the number of AMI end-devices and the frequency of their data transmission increase with new AMI-based applications. In this introductory survey, innovative and future AMI applications and their communication requirements are first reviewed. Then, we identify challenges of 3GPP long term evolution (LTE) in enabling future AMI applications. More importantly, the latest improvements to LTE-A standard release 12 and 13 are reviewed and analyzed with regards to their potential to improve the quality of LTE-enabled AMI. It is found that 3GPP enhancements on machine type communications (MTC) standards will significantly enhance AMI communications. Beyond MTC specifications, non-MTC-specific enhancements such as carrier aggregation and multi-connectivity for user equipment will also contribute greatly to improving reliability and availability of AMI devices. The paper's focus is towards improved backhaul support for innovative and future AMI applications, beyond traditional automatic meter reading.

In this paper, we design and analyze the performance of Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) techniques to the number of users for next-generation cellular systems. We perform Monte Carlo simulations with Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-Advanced) and confirm the performance from the graph of the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF). From simulation results, we show the significant performance gain when CoMP technique is used and also show better performance when we apply the various schemes additionally as scheduling and precoding.
LTE-maritime, which was built as part of the Korean e-Navigation project, has been providing a service that meets the goal of establishing a network up to 100km from the coast since J anuary 31, 2021. To provide appropriate communication services for LTE-maritime from the perspective of real users, additional performance analysis of LTE-maritime is required considering service implementation, and efficient use of spectrum resources. This paper presents the requirement of transmission speed according to the e-Navigation service scenario, and available transmission speed based on LTE modulation coding scheme (MCS) according to sea-specific ship distribution scenario and frequency resource allocation, and is cross-analyzed with results of the sea test.

To verify the trustworthiness of messages, public key certificates and certificate revocation list(CRL) has been standardized for vehicular networks. However, timely distribution of large CRLs to vehicles should be more elaborated with low bandwidth utilization from a practical point of view. To address this concern, we propose a CRL distribution scheme using long term evolution(LTE) point-to-multicast transmission, namely the enhanced multimedia broadcast multicast service(eMBMS). The schem is much more resource efficient than the existing unicast CRL distribution schemes for vehicular networks and it allows realizing the regional CRL distribution schemes efficiently in LTE network. By means of ns-3 simulation, we analyze the performance, latency, and execution time of the scheme in terms of varying coverage of the multimedia broadcast multicast service over single frequency network (MBFSN).

As a result of the prevalence of smartphone, various mobile services became faster by LTE networks. Because many mobile devices are used more wireless services, heavy signaling traffic for authentication could be generated. Authentication is an important factor in wireless networks to identify devices; it is the start of wireless networks. This paper analyzes previous patterns for more effective authentication in accessing of another external networks. We propose a fast authentication scheme for minimizing of signaling cost between the authentication server and external networks. And we calculate the rate of authentication occurrence in LTE networks using mathematical modeling as well as the change of signaling cost for authentication in various network environments. Finally, we calculate the optimized number of authentication data and show the effectiveness for authentication signaling costs.

Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) is considered as a technology in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project(3GPP) Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) system. In this paper, we design and analyze the performance of the Coordinated Beamforming (CB) technique, which is one major category of CoMP. We perform Monte Carlo simulations with a Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) in LTE-A, and confirm the performance through a graph of the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF). From the simulation results, we show significant performance gain with the CoMP technique, and better performance when we apply various schemes of scheduling and precoding.

As a method to understand the ecological habits around the artificial reef, various reports such as fishing gear survey, diving, sound survey, underwater CCTV and camera, etc. are reported. Among them, the sound survey method is carried out by installing an acoustic system on the ship and can be investigated regardless of the marine environment such as time constraints and turbidity. Such method, however, takes a lot of manpower and time as the ship travels at a constant speed. Investigations around artificial reefs are being conducted in an artificial way, and a lot of time and labor are consumed as such. Maritime buoys have been operated for various purposes such as route signs, weather observation, marine environment monitoring and defense monitoring for navigation safety in the past, but studies on monitoring systems for ecological habits and distribution of fish using marine buoys are remarkably insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to develop a system that allows users to directly monitor fish group detector data by estimating the distribution of fish groups around artificial reefs and using wireless communication at sea. In order to confirm the suitability of the maritime buoy used in this study, it was operated to compare data using LTE-equipped buoys capable of wireless communication and a data logger-type system buoy. Data transmission of buoys capable of LTE communication was carried out in a 10-minute ON, 10-minute OFF method due to the limitation of the power supply capacity, and data of the data logger-type buoy received full data. We compared and analyzed the data received from the two fish detectors. It is expected that real-time monitoring of the wireless buoy detection device using LTE will be possible through future research.

According to the development of streaming services with P2P and mobile network technologies, researches to enhance the service quality in mobile environment have been proposed. However, streaming services considering high-speed mobile environment and characteristics of heterogenous terminals have been hindered from being provided with the required quality from user because of bandwidth congestion between selfish peers of existing P2P system. It is also prone to long delay and loss in accordance with the repeated traffic amounts because there are no optimized solution for traffic localization. The structure to enhance peer contribution for service differentiation and peer selection with clustering scheme with location information of terminal can satisfy both users and service providers with service quality and efficiency. In this paper, we propose an incentive mechanism and resource distribution scheme with user contribution and traffic cost information based on user location, which make mobile users increase the satisfaction of service quality in LTE environments.

Enhanced radio access technologies (RAT) are deployed in Next Generation Convergence Networks by the service providers so as to satisfy the basic requirements of end-users for e.g. QoS. Whenever the available resources are being shared simultaneously and dynamically by multiple users or distribution of allocated channels randomly, the deficiency of spectral resources and dynamic behavior of Network traffic in real time Networking, we may have problem. In order to evaluate the performance of our proposed algorithm, computer simulation has been performed on NS-2 simulator and a comparison with the existing algorithms has been made.
