표적 좌표지향 알고리즘 설계 (Coordinates Tracking Algorithm Design)

  • This paper describes the design of a Coordinates Tracking algorithm for EOTS and its error analysis. EOTS stabilizes the image sensors such as FLIR, CCD TV camera, LRF/LD, and so on, tracks targets automatically, and provides navigation capability for vehicles. The Coordinates Tracking algorithm calculates the azimuth and the elevation angle of EOTS using the inertial navigation system and the attitude sensors of the vehicle, so that LOS designates the target coordinates which is generated by a Radar or an operator. In the error analysis in this paper, the unexpected behaviors of EOTS that is due to the time delay and deadbeat of the digital signals of the vehicle equipments are anticipated and the countermeasures are suggested. This algorithm is verified and the error analysis is confirmed through simulations. The application of this algorithm to EOTS will improve the operational capability by reducing the time which is required to find the target and support especially the flight in a night time flight and the poor weather condition.

  • 건설현장의 인력 및 장비의 위치 추적을 위한 RTLS(Real-Time location system)이 개발 중이며, 이중에는 무선랜 기반의 전파방식을 활용하는 기법도 고려되고 있다. 이 기법을 건설현장에 도입하기 위해서는 RTLS의 AP(Access Point) 전파가 도달하는 거리를 고려한 3차원 가시선 분석을 통해 사전에 AP의 설치 위치를 모의해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 지상라이다로 획득된 공간자료를 격자화하고, AP 설치 위치의 모의를 위한 3차원 가시선 분석의 성능 향상을 위하여 여러 가지 격자크기에 대해 두 가지 가시종단선 처리기법을 적용하고, 그 결과를 비교하였다. 가시면적에 대한 평가결과 선긋기기법이 그림자기법 보다 약 7.4%의 많은 가시영역을 나타내었으나, 그림자기법이 격자크기에 대해 안정적인 결과를 나타내었고, 처리시간에 대해서는 선긋기기법이 그림자기법에 비해 2배 가까이 빠른 것으로 나타났다.

Analysis and Test results for the EOS(Electro Optical Subsystem) geometric mapping of the KOMPSAT2 Telescope

  • As a former level of MSC(Multi Spectral Camera) telescope of the KOMPSA T2satellite, the several performance tests of EOS(Electro Optical Subsystem) were performed in the EOS level. By these tests, not only the design requirement of payload can be verified but also the test result can be the important criterion to estimate the performance of payload in the launch and space orbit environment. The EOS Geometric Mapping test is to verify the accuracy of the alignment & assembly on the Subsystem of the MSC by measurement like these; LOS(Line of Sight), LOD(Line of Detector), Band to Band Registration, Optical Distortion and Reference Cube. This paper describes the test results and the analysis for the EOS Geometric Mapping.

SUSTAINABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE DESIGN USING BIM: A CASE STUDY OF A RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

  • This paper describes the application of the three sustainable design elements for a residential project in the county of Los Angeles, USA. The first design element is the green building design in which a base model will be created using the Autodesk REVIT MEP program for the analysis by Building Information Modeling (BIM) for the energy analysis modeling process to determine the energy savings for each of the recommended design features. The second element is the Low Impact Development design for the site design using specialty material and structural devices for infiltration and recycling of storm water for reuse. The third element is the application of drought tolerant plant species in the site's landscaping design as a means to conserve water. The construction cost associated with the application of these three elements will be reviewed to determine the practicality and effectiveness of this sustainable design approach.

Solar Wind Observations Using STELab-IPS Array In Japan

  • Radio wave from a compact radio source such as a quasar are scattered by irregularities of electron density. The scattered waves interfere with each other as they propagate to the Earth producing diffraction patterns on the ground. This phenomenon is called interplanetary scintillation (IPS). The IPS pattern contains the information of solar wind velocities and density fluctuations passing across a line-of-sight (LOS) from an observer to a radio source. The IPS is a useful tool which allows us to measure the solar wind in three dimensional space inaccessible to in situ observations. Although the IPS measurement is an integral of solar wind velocities and density fluctuations along the LOS, which causes degradation of accuracy, we have succeeded to develop computer assisted tomography (CAT) analysis to remove the effect of LOS integration. These techniques greatly improved the accuracy of determinations of solar wind velocity structures. In this talk we present our IPS observation system and long-term variation of global solar wind structures from 1980-2009, then we focus on recent peculiar solar wind properties.

드론 제어용 데이터링크 안테나 설계 (Data-link Antenna Design for Drone Control)

  • 드론 제어를 위한 C대역 무지향성 안테나는 드론의 상부 또는 하부에 장착되어 통신링크를 구성하기 위해 사용된다. 통신링크는 무지향성 안테나 장착위치에 따라 LOS(: Line Of Sight)의 영향을 받게 된다. 본 논문에서는 드론 탑재를 위한 내장형 안테나 2종을 상용 시뮬레이션 툴인 CST MWS로 설계하고, 장착 환경을 고려한 EM(: Electro Magnetic) 해석을 수행하였다. 또한, 다수의 드론을 제어하기 위한 PTMP(: Point To Multi Point) 지상안테나를 제안하였다. 지상안테나는 30km의 통신반경을 갖기 위해 수평방향으로 4개의 섹터안테나와 상부에 1개의 지향성안테나로 구성하였다.

  • L. A. 마모율 시험은 건설용 골재의 강도를 확인하기 위한 방법으로 주로 석산의 모암을 대상으로 시행하여 왔다. 본 연구는 경상분지 퇴적암이 집중 분포되어 있는 25 지점에서 지질학적 특성을 대표할 수 있는 324 브록의 시료를 채취하여 L. A. 마모율시험으로 각종 공학지수(일축 압축강도, 압열 인장강도, 탄성계수, 점하중 강도지수, Schmidt 해머 반발지수)를 추정하기 위한 실험을 시행하여 회귀 분석법으로 서로간의 상관성을 확인한 결과, 상호간 좋은 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 이 방법이 다른 공학지수를 추정함에 손색이 없으므로 이후에도 많은 활용이 있기를 기대한다.

Characterization of mandibular molar root and canal morphology using cone beam computed tomography and its variability in Belgian and Chilean population samples

  • Purpose: This study used cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) to characterize mandibular molar root and canal morphology and its variability in Belgian and Chilean population samples. Materials and Methods: We analyzed the CBCT images of 515 mandibular molars (257 from Belgium and 258 from Chile). Molars meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed to determine (1) the number of roots; (2) the root canal configuration; (3) the presence of a curved canal in the cross-sectional image of the distal root in the mandibular first molar and (4) the presence of a C-shaped canal in the second mandibular molar. A descriptive analysis was performed. The association between national origin and the presence of a curved or C-shaped canal was evaluated using the chi-squared test. Results: The most common configurations in the mesial root of both molars were type V and type III. In the distal root, type I canal configuration was the most common. Curvature in the cross-sectional image was found in 25% of the distal canals of the mandibular first molars in the Belgian population, compared to 11% in the Chilean population. The prevalence of C-shaped canals was 10% or less in both populations. Conclusion: In cases of unclear or complex root and canal morphology in the mandibular molars, CBCT imaging might assist endodontic specialists in making an accurate diagnosis and in treatment planning.
