While numerous studies have empirically investigated user behavior in LIS research community, less research has attempted to examine such studies in methodological perspective. Reflecting this, relevant studies have suggested the need to develop methodological framework for such studies. This study conducted content analyses of user behavior studies recently published in JASIST and analyzed factors which affect the external validity of result of such researches. The findings revealed various types and cases related to the generalization of the study results. Based on these, a methodological framework for user behavior studies were suggested.

Higher educational institutions face an increasing demand for developing a renewed set of competencies of college students who will live in the knowledge-based society. However, relatively little is known about what constitutes the core competencies that college students need to develop and how we can improve them. Nine categories of core competencies required for college graduates were drawn from the previous research and examples of core competencies developed by other institutions. They are analytic thinking skills, problem-solving skills, communicating skills, collaborative working skills, and etc. A reading guidance course for strengthening core competencies, developed based on the teaching and learning methods was adapted to students of LIS for one semester. Implications of these and related findings are discussed.

This study is to develop the curriculum model for the librarian training courses of disability services in the LIS curriculum. For this purpose, curriculums for the librarian disability service training courses in domestic and foreign were researched and analysed. The finally developed curriculum for the librarian training courses of disability service suggests a comprehensive necessarily share the curriculum content to be included in training courses for professional librarian library services to disability continued specialized courses and disability specialized courses.

This study intends to make a comprehensive inquiry into the meaning and limitations of Discovery, and to explore how to make full use of Discovery in library cataloging. To this end, first discussed is the meaning of Discovery, which has a variety definitions. For the quality evaluation, 5 criteria were developed on the basis of literature review. Then this study conducted the quality evaluation on the basis of previously developed 5 criteria and usefulness of Discovery in library catalogs is thoroughly discussed. Based on these, the final discussion includes strategies for Korean LIS scholars and library practitioners to consider when applying Discovery as an integrated search tool.

최근 발수 특성은 자동차 표면, 건축 구조물, 가전제품 및 모바일 기기 등 여러 분야에서 사용되고 점차 그 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 발수성의 표면은 연 잎이나 곤충의 날개, 도마뱀의 발바닥 등 자연계의 여러 곳에서 관찰 할 수 있다. 특히 연 잎의 표면에서 나타나는 초발수 특성이 마이크로와 나노 크기의 돌기 구조와 표피 왁스 성분에 기인한다는 것이 밝혀지면서 이를 응용한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 물리적인 표면처리로 마이크로와 나노 구조물을 형성하고 그 위에 표면에너지를 낮출 수 있는 물질을 증착하여, 발수 특성을 가지는 표면을 개발하였다. 알루미늄 표면에 마이크로 크기의 알루미나(Al2O3) 분말을 이용한 블라스트(blast) 공정으로 마이크로 구조를 형성하고, 선형 이온 소스(LIS)를 이용한 Ar 이온 빔 에칭으로 나노 구조를 형성하였다. FE-SEM 분석을 통해 수~수십 마이크로 구조 위에 나노 크기의 구조가 형성 된 것을 관찰하였다. 마이크로와 나노 구조가 형성된 알루미늄의 표면에너지를 낮추기 위해 trimethylsilane (TMS) 및 Ar을 이용한 플라즈마처리로 표면에 기능성 코팅막을 형성하였다. 그 결과 TMS처리 전에 비해 표면에너지가 99.75 mJ/m2에서 9.05 mJ/m2으로 급격히 낮아지고 접촉각이 $54^{\circ}$에서 $123^{\circ}$로 향상되었다.

This study aims to analyse the research areas and trends of reading (reading instruction) abroad in the respect of LIS, and suggest future research tasks. First, I reviewed the controlled keywords in SU field of LISTA database and the entries of DDC 23, and identified the research areas of reading and reading instruction in overseas. Second, I analysed the research trends of this field by applying a intellectual structure analysis on 2,115 research articles (1914~2014) retrieved from a representative database in the areas of Library and Information Science (LISTA). Third, Based on the results of these analysis, I suggested the future research tasks of this field in the domain of library and information science.

The aim of this study was to analyze the research trends on the digital libraries in Korea. To achieve this objective, a total of 578 author-assigned English keywords were collected from the 272 major LIS journal articles published in Korea during last ten years-period, i.e., 2007-2016. The collected data were analyzed using NetMiner V.4 to discover their 'degree centrality' and 'betweenness centrality'. As the results, 'Academic Library', 'Reference Service', 'Public Library', 'E Resource', and 'E Book' showed the most frequently conducted research topics, and 'Academic Library', 'Reference Service', 'Information Behavior', and 'E Resource' were the most influencing research topics. Finally, 'Academic Library', 'Metadata', 'Information Behavior', 'E Resource', and 'Librarian' seemed the most widely intervening research topics in this research.

This study analyzed the type, subject and open level of research data in the field of library and information science field shared by Figshare, and statistically analyzed the characteristics of data with relatively high recyclability. The results of the analysis showed that datasets and papers were most common data types, and open access and research data were the most common keywords of data, and that 70% of the data were published in a form that can not be processed mechanically such as pdf. As a result of analysis of the relationship between characteristics of research data and degree of sharing, open access areas such as APC (Article Processing Charge) were found to be most common in the subject. However in data type, gray literature such as paper found to be highly utilized rather than dataset.

This study suggests ameliorated Library and Information Science education, and its curriculum for education of national subject specialists. For that purpose, this study investigates and compares four internal universities, three American universities along with the figures of the present and future subjects to face updated educational plans and prepare to become a new information specialist at ALA(American Library Association), ALISE(Association for Library and Information Science Education), and other agents. The results of this study can be used as the basic data for training 'subject specialist' in the university curriculum.
