I have taught various case audit underwriting methods to underwriters for many years. Underwriting requires specialized medical knowledge and experience of comprehensive individual risk analysis. Decisions in individualized underwriting depend on the insurance company's management philosophy and vision, marketing strategies, culture, product line etc. They also depend on the information acquired through proposal forms, inspection reports, laboratory results and disclosures. Underwriters match this acquired information to each insurance product, search appropriate medical resources, assess the probabilities of future claims, and decide what, if any, further medical information should be gathered. Sources include doctors' reports, medical records, biopsies, blood and urine tests, CT, MRI, Holter monitoring, sonography etc. Insurance medical directors help and teach underwriters to analyze individual medical risks and make effective.

Nowadays as smartphones are becoming increasingly popular, smartphone applications are making people's life much more convenient than before. In the past, various forms of technology were developed to help visually impaired people. So the idea of how the prevalent smartphone applications could help the visually impaired to make their life better came into our mind. In this paper, we describe an application aiming at meeting the visually impaired people's basic needs in their daily life. Our application includes three basic functions, a new way of calling, date and time prompt, and emergency use.

Locus control region (LCR) is a cia-acting element which regulates the transcription of genes in developmental stage and/or tissue-specific pattern. Typically, LCR consists of several DNase I hypersensitive sites (HSs), where the binding motifs for transcriptional activators are present. The binding of activators to the HSs recruits chromatin modifying complexes to the LCR, opening chromatin structure and modifying histones covalently through the locus. LCR forms close physical contact with target gene located at a distance by looping away intervening region. In addition, non-coding RNA is transcribed from LCR toward target genes in continuously acetylated active domain. These structural and functional features of LCR suggest that the LCR plays many roles in chromatin activation and transcriptional regulation.

Eight dogs were experimentally infected with Sarcocystis by oral inoculation of cardiac muscle from naturally infected cattle. The infected dogs commenced discharging of sporocysts in the feces after 10 to 12 days of inoculation, and continued until 20 and 35 days after inoculation. Three dogs were reinfected with cardiac muscle from the naturally infected cattle. Sporocysts reappeared in the feces on 12 to 13 days after reinfection. Sarcosystis sporocysts collected from the experimentally infected dogs were fed to each of the two 30-day-old Korean native calves. The infected calves remained clinically normal, except for the high fever (${\geq}{\;} 40^{\circ}C$) and decreased hematocrit values on day 30 to 40 post inoculation. Muscular cysts of Sarcocystis were found from infected calves on day 40 post inoculation. Proliferative forms of Sarcocystis were also observed in the muscle of infected calves. These results suggest that the Sarcocystis cruzi found in Korean native cattle has a 2-host life cycle with dogs as the definitive host and Korean native calves as the intermediate host.

본 연구에서는 한국(韓國) 문헌정보학(文獻情報學)의 이용율(利用率) 감소를 측정하기 위하여 1992년 한 해 동안에 문헌정보학 분야의 중심 잡지에 수록된 논문에 인용된 문헌의 발행년도(發行年度)를 분석하였다. 한국 문헌정보학 문헌의 반감기 및 수명감소 인자를 구하기 위하여 먼저 잡지별, 언어별, 그리고 형태별 분석이 이루어졌고, 다시 전체적인 수명감소 인자 및 반감기 값도 구해졌다.

This study delves into the subtle sounds emanating from beneath the earth's surface to unveil hidden messages and the movements of life. It transforms these acoustic phenomena into digital data and reimagines them as visual elements. By employing Sismophone microphones and utilizing the FFT function in p5.js, it analyzes the intricate frequency components of subterranean sounds and translates them into various visual elements, including 3D geometric shapes, flowing lines, and moving particles. This project is grounded in the sounds recorded in diverse 'spaces of death,' ranging from the tombs of Joseon Dynasty officials to abandoned areas in modern cities. We leverage the power of sound to transcend space and time, conveying the concealed narratives and messages of forgotten places .Through the visualization of these sounds, this research blurs the boundaries between 'death' and 'life,' 'past' and 'present,' aiming to explore new forms of artistic expression and broaden perceptions through the sensory connection between sound and vision.

Leptospira interrogans, the causative organism of leptospirosis, is characterized by a fine helical morphology, and the helix is almost always right-handed. However, one of the striking features of recent isolates of L. interrogans in Korea was the heterogeneity in their morphology. Even under optimal culture conditions($30^{\circ}C$, EMJH medium), rods, spiral forms with right or left-handed helices, and even spherical forms of L. interrogans were present. Although the literature notes the presence of left-handed helices, long rods, and spherical forms in cultures of L. interrogans isolates, little is known about the cause of this morphologic heterogeneity. In an attempt to answer this question, this study was initiated to examine the effects of culture conditions, especially temperature and medium, on the morphology of L. interrogans. Four temperatures($5^{\circ}C$, $15^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$, and $37^{\circ}C$) and two types of media(Fletcher and EMJH) were used; one strain from Korean isolates and L. interrogans serovar canicola obtained from the Pasteur Institute(Paris, France) were employed throughout the study. The findings are as follows: 1. The L. interrogans isolated in Korea(UM-19) had a larger cell diameter($0.25{\sim}0.30\;{\mu}m$: $0.10{\sim}0.15\;{\mu}m$), and helix diameter($0.10{\sim}0.60\;{\mu}m$: $0.10{\sim}0.15\;{\mu}m$) than that obtained from the Pasteur Institute, but they varied in their distances between the helices($0.31{\sim}1.00\;{\mu}m$: $0.50{\sim}0.70\;{\mu}m$). 2, When UM-19 was grown at $37^{\circ}C$ after months or longer preincubation at $5^{\circ}C$ or $15^{\circ}C$, the majority of the organisms were spiral forms; however, they became rods when subcultured at $30^{\circ}C$ or $37^{\circ}C$. No significant morphological differences were found between Fletcher and EMJH media. 3. When L. interrogans serovar canicola was subcultured more than ten times at $37^{\circ}C$, some of the organism lost their motility as well as the hooks at either one or both ends, but only in Fletcher medium. The number of variants increased with the frequency of subculturing. These findings suggested that L. interrogans strain (UM-19) is different, in their morphology, from that of the Pasteur Institute, and its various morphologies may represent stages of the life cycle and vary with incubation temperature.

According to the changing environment of modern society, a resident of the symbols reflects the growing need for housing has risen. The aim of this study was to determine the level of social support and quality of life in Turkish patients with gynecologic cancer using a cross-sectional survey design. A total of 108 patients admitted to the gynecologic oncology clinic at a university hospital from September 2011 to January 2012 were included. Data were collected using patient information forms, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and The Quality of Life-Cancer Survivors Instrument (QOL-CS). Average age was $54.5{\pm}10.8$ years and it was determined that 65.7% of patients had ovarian cancer and 19.4% had cervical cancer. The total QOL-CS mean score was $5.59{\pm}1.10$. Average score of total MSPSS was found to be $69.7{\pm}14.64$. Comparing socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of patients and average scores of QOL-CS and MSPSS, it was found that there was not a statisticaly significant corelation (p>0.05). Statistically significant relation was found between the average scores of QOL-CS and MSPSS. These results showed that quality of life was moderate and perceived social support was high in Turkish patients with gynecologic cancer.

JAZF1 (Juxtaposed with Another Zinc Finger gene 1) transcription factor are Zn-finger proteins that bind to the nuclear orphan receptor TAK/TR4 (Nakajima et al., 2004). The nuclear orphan receptor TAK1/TR4 functions as a positive as well as a negative regulator of transcription. It was recently reported that congenital cardiovascular malformations are significantly more frequent in Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) patients with microdeletion syndrome than in those with classical NF1. JAZF1 was expressed in adult heart of patients with microdeletion syndrome. JAZF1 is highly conserved among various species include zebrafish. We hypothesized that the expression of zebrafish Jazf1 may lead to severe forms of congenital heart disease that allow the survival of newborns and adults. In this study, we created Jazf1 transgenic zebrafish which over-express zebrafish Jazf1 cDNA under control of the CMV promoter. Our results suggested that Jazf1 expression may play an important role in zebrafish cardiac development.
