  • We experienced one case of the left ventricular aneurysm. The patient was 44 years old male, who complained of dysarthria and dysphagia due to right cerebellar infarction EKG revealed antero-lateral myocardial infarction, so checked 2-D echo-cardiogram showed the left ventricular aneurysm with the mural thrombus. Aneurysmectomy with removal of thrombi was made for preventing further propagation of the systemic embolization. But CABG was impossible due to fine coronary artery at the portion of myocardial infarction. Mild LCOS was noted but postop course was smooth. During 12 months follow-up period, he lives in good physical activity [MYHA F.C. II /IV] and absence of chest pain.

  • To increase light efficiency, utilizing phosphors transfers ultraviolet ray to visible light and the fluorescent characteristic without change the electrical or optical design. Spreading phosphors on the surface of light bulb mirror can compensate the red and blue light to yield this correct white field after being stimulated by reflected ultraviolet ray.

  • Dynamic aeroelastic behavior of structurally nonlinear Joined Wings is presented. Three configurations, two characterized by a different location of the joint and one presenting a direct connection between the two wings (SensorCraft-like layout) are investigated. The snap-divergence is studied from a dynamic perspective in order to assess the real response of the configuration. The investigations also focus on the flutter occurrence (critical state) and postcritical phenomena. Limit Cycle Oscillations (LCOs) are observed, possibly followed by a loss of periodicity of the solution as speed is further increased. In some cases, it is also possible to ascertain the presence of period doubling (flip-) bifurcations. Differences between flutter (Hopf's bifurcation) speed evaluated with linear and nonlinear analyses are discussed in depth in order to understand if a linear (and thus computationally less intense) representation provides an acceptable estimate of the instability properties. Both frequency- and time-domain approaches are compared. Moreover, aerodynamic solvers based on the potential flow are critically examined. In particular, it is assessed in what measure more sophisticated aerodynamic and interface models impact the aeroelastic predictions. When the use of the tools gives different results, a physical interpretation of the leading mechanism generating the mismatch is provided. In particular, for PrandtlPlane-like configurations the aeroelastic response is very sensitive to the wake's shape. As a consequence, it is suggested that a more sophisticate modeling of the wake positively impacts the reliability of aerodynamic and aeroelastic analysis. For SensorCraft-like configurations some LCOs are characterized by a non-synchronous motion of the inner and outer portion of the lower wing: the wing's tip exhibits a small oscillation during the descending or ascending phase, whereas the mid-span station describes a sinusoidal-like trajectory in the time-domain.

  • A mini-projector prototype employing a LED light source, a nontelecentric structure, and an LCOS panel for application in the integrated 3D display was fabricated. A seamless image was obtained by tilting an array of mini-projectors. Seamless quality was created by the excellent uniformity of the projection intensity on the mini-projector's screen, which was simulated as 98.34%. Great uniformity can be realized by optimizing the design of the light source and the optics configuration, which is the key to such realization.

  • Eye Glass Display (EGD) with microdisplay to realize the virtual display can make the large screen, so virtual image has been developed by using microdisplay panel. This paper shows study of low cost lens design and simulation for microdisplay system with 0.6" Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) panel. Lens design optimized consider to spherical aberration, astigmatism, distortion, and chromatic aberration. Code V is used and it designed an aspheric lens about exit pupil 6mm, eye relief 20mm and 35 degree of field of view (FOV). With the application this aspheric lens to LCOS type's microdisplay, virtual image showed 50 inch at 2m. One side of the aspheric lens was constituted from diffractive optical element (DOE) for the improvement in a performance. It had less than ${\pm}2%$ of distortion value and modulation transfer function in axial had 20% of resolution with 30 lp/mm spatial frequency. The optical system is suitable for display of 0.6"-diagonal with SVGA.

  • Now a days, many different kinds of display technologies such as Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED), and Liquid Crystal On Silicon (LCOS) are designed. And these display technologies will be used in many application products like High Definition Televisions (HDTVs) or mobile devices. In this paper, pattern generation circuit for display test is proposed. The proposed circuit will be embedded in the control circuit of display chip. Two differenct kinds of patterns is generated by the circuit. One is block pattern for color test, and the other is line pattern for pixel test. The shape of test pattern is determined by the values of registers in pattern generation circuit. The circuit is designed using Verilog HDL RTL code.

  • The reflective liquid crystal(LC) imager in one panel Liquid Crystal on Silicon(LCoS) System must have the properties such as fast response time, high contrast ratio(C/R) and voltage holding ratio(VHR) which are more related to the lifetime of imager than the others. As the high-output light including a short wavelength from UHP lamp is exposed to LCoS imager, the indium metal impurities, which decrease the C/R and VHR, are diffused from ITO thin film on glass. To ensure the high reliable LCoS imager for HD projection TV, we have studied the effects of the plasma treatment on ITO film to reduce impurities in imager.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the molecular behavior of IPS-LCDs and VA-LCDs by using numerical simulation. The numerical simulation was performed on the basis of Ericksen-Leslie continuum theory. To improve the accuracy of the calculation, we considered fluid balance equation and director balance equation at the same time. thus, we calculated the flow effect for both switching on and off states. As the results of simulation, we confirmed abnormal twist in IPS-LCDs and fast molecular behavior in VA-LCDs which could influence response time.

  • A diffraction limited optical system for head mounted displays (HMDs) was designed. This optical system consists of four modules, including 1:5 mm and 5:30 mm beam expanders, polarization grating-polarization conversion system (PG-PCS) and refractive/diffractive projection optical module. The PG-PCS module transforms the unpolarized Gaussian beam to a linearly polarized beam and it simultaneously homogenizes the spatial intensity profile. The optical projector module has a $30^{\circ}$ field of view, a 22 mm eye relief, and a 10 mm exit pupil diameter with a compact structure. Common acrylic materials were utilized in the optical design process; therefore, the final optical system was lightweight. The whole optical system is suitable for a 0.7 inch liquid crystal on silicon microdisplay (LCOS) with HDTV resolution ($1920{\times}1080$) and $8.0{\mu}m$ pixel pitch.
