Octachlorostyrene (OCS) is a persistant and bioaccumulative toxic subtance (PBTs). In this study, acute toxicity tests on algae, daphnia and fish for octachlorostyrene and its isomers were done to determine effective concentration ($EC_{50}$), Lethal concentration ($LC_{50}$), no observed effect concentration (NOEC) or lowest observed effect concentration (LOEC). As a result, NOEC on algae growth inhibition test for octacholorostyrene and 2-, 3-chlorostyrene was determined as $0.50\;mg\;L^{-1}$, and NOEC for 4-chlorostyrene was determined as $0.13\;mg\;L^{-1}$. NOEC on daphnia, acute immobilisation test for octachlorostyrene and 2-, 3-chlorostyrene was determined as $5.00\;mg\;L^{-1}$ and $EC_{50}$ for 4-chlorostyrene was determined as $2.128\;mg\;L^{-1}$. NOEC on Oryzias Latipes, acute toxicity test for octachlorostyrene was determined as $80.0\;mg\;L^{-1}$ and NOEC for 2-, 3-chlorostyrene was determined as $60.0\;mg\;L^{-1}$. $LC_{50}$ for 4-chlorostyrene was determined as $39.0\;mg\;L^{-1}$ (48h) and $22.6\;mg\;L^{-1}$ (96h).

The gold (LC-AuNPs) and silver (LC-AgNPs) nanoparticles were rapidly synthesized by fruit extract of Lycium chinense within 1.15 and 25 min respectively in an eco-friendly way. The synthesized nanoparticles confirmed by relevant surface plasmon resonance peaks for gold and silver nanoparticles at 536 and 480 nm, respectively. FE-TEM results revealed that LC-AuNPs were 20-50 nm and LC-AgNPs were 50-100 nm. The maximum distribution of gold, silver elements and the crystallographic nature of synthesized were confirmed using EDX, elemental mapping and XRD. LC-AgNPs showed inhibitory activity against pathogenic microorganisms such as E. coli and S. aureus, whereas LC-AuNPs did not show inhibitory activity. The LC-AgNps nanoparticles exhibited significant cytotoxicity to human breast cancer MCF7 cell line and less cytotoxicity to non-diseased RAW264.7 (murine macrophage) cells whereas LC-AuNps showed minimal toxicity to both cell lines. In-depth research on this rapid, facile and greenery nanoparticles may play a potential role in biomedical applications.
Experiments were conducted to study effects of different bioassay methods on toxicity to the German cockroach (Blattella germanica L.) ith six insecticides. For male adults, by dry film method, the {TEX}$LC_{50}${/TEX} value of chlorpyrifos. fenvalerate, propoxur, permethin, DDVP, and hydramethylnon was 1.79, 1.87, 3.04, 4.37, 32.72, and 270.81 ppm, respectively and the same tendency was shown in the female. For male adults, by topical micro-application method, the {TEX}$LD_{50}${/TEX} value of DDVP and fenvalerate, chlorpyrifls, permethrin, propoxur, hydramethylnon was 2.63, 3.79, 4.51, 6.73, 44.99 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g, respectively and the same tendency was shown in the female. From the diet toxicity method against male adults, the CT value (Concentration%$\times${TEX}$LT_{50}${/TEX}) showed that chlorpyrifos was rapid effective and hydramethylnon was residual effective.
Short-term acute toxicity of mercury, cadmium and copper to arkshell, Anadara broughtonii, and to oyster, Crassostrea gigas, was determinedby static bioassays from 20 May to 27 June in 1977. During the observations of the opening rate of the shell mercury was the most sensitive toxicant of the three toxic substances to the test animals and caused them to close their shellvalves together after being exposed to a mercury solution for an hour during the test. Opening rate to cadmium and copper increased gradually at the higher concentration. the 96hr-LC50 values for the test animals are 4.84mg/l for mercury and 1.86mg/l for cadmium, while the 72hr-LC50 value for copper is 0.31mg/l. the death rate of oysters for cadmium showed lower than that of the mercury and copper test solutions. The 96hr-LC50 values of mercury, copper and cadmium were 1.1mg/l, 2.54mg/l and 19.5mg/l, respectively. For oysters mercury was the most toxic substance, and cadmium was the least toxic one. the medium lethal time (LT 50) value decreased gradually at higher concentration of heavy metals. The LT 50 of 2mg/l was found within 96 hours ofr copper, 104 hours for mercury and 121 hours for cadmium. The lethal threshold concentrations for 7 days were found to be about 1mg/l for mercury and copper, and 2mg/l for cadmium.
IP address lookup is one of the most important and complex functions in the router. In this paper, we propose an improved technique of LC-trie to increase the performance of IP address lookup in the high performance router. We effectively apply the prefix pruning method, which is used for the compression of the forwarding table in TCAM((Ternary Content Addressable Memory), to the LC-trie. This technique can decrease the number of memory accesses and upgrade the lookup speed. Moreover, through the real forwarding table and the real traffic distribution, we evaluate the performance of our scheme in terms of the lookup time and the number of memory access, comparing with that of the previous LC-trie.
The recommended species in fish acute toxicity test for pesticide registration in korea are common carp (Cyprinus carpio), killifish(Oryzias latipes) and loach(Misgurnus anguillicaudatus). But most of fish toxicity was evaluated using common carp. The common carp has several problems such as difficulty of room breeding, difference of sensitivity to breeding condition, limited experimental period, etc. For that reason, it is necessary to reexamine of test species. The present study investigated the sensitivity and correlation of $LC_{50}$ values that determined using the acute toxicity test with common carp and killifish. And this study is a realistic approach to evaluated appropriate species for fish acute toxicity test of pesticide. As a result, correlation coefficient(R) of the commom carp and killifish was high correlation of 0.8480 and the $LC_{50}$ values was not significant in the interspecies sensitivity. When the $LC_{50}$ values of common carp and killifish was compared with fish toxicity guideline in Korea, fish toxicity class has fluctuated in 18 pesticides with not very special tendency. Therefore, it is necessary to review of killifish has more advantage to standardization of fish culture and in the side of correlation and sensitivity of acute toxicity.
A herbivorous copepod, Tigriopus japonicus, was tested to study its acute and chronic responses to Cd tonicity. Under $20^{\circ}C,\;96hr-LC_{50}$ of T. japonicus in medium with $32\%_{\circ},\;26\%_{\circ},\;and\;18\%_{\circ}$ salinity were 11.1 ppm, 13.7 ppm, and 9.7 ppm, respectively. The $96hr-LC_{50}$ in medium with $32\%_{\circ},\;26\%_{\circ},\;and\;18\%_{\circ}$ salinity increased to 21.6 ppm, 15.0 ppm, and 11,0 ppm, respectively under $10^{\circ}C$ condition. Oxygen consumption rates during 96hrs exposure to Cd toxicity decreased more sharply at $20^{\circ}C$ than those at $10^{\circ}C$. Survival rate and $250dys-LC_{50}$ of T. japonicus in medium with $32\%_{\circ}$ salinity, in concentration of Cd 4 ppm were $5\%$ and 0.05 ppm, respectively under $10^{\circ}C$, and $0\%$ and 0.20 ppm under $20^{\circ}C$. It was that the copepod selectively feed on Skeletonema costatum, Nitzschia pungens, N. seriata, and Rhizosolenia hebetata f. semispina.

Marine ecotoxicological standard method was applicated using marine rotifer and benthic copepod as primary consumer of marine ecosystem. Marine rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis and benthic copepod, Tigriopus japonicus were designated as standard test species with the endpoints of 24hr neonate mortality (24hr $LC_{50}$) and 48hr population growth (48hr $EC_{50}$) for rotifer, and 48hr nauplius mortality (48hr $LC_{50}$) for benthic copepod. Tests method was referred to those of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) with the replacement of test species which are widely distributed in Korean waters. The two species showed a wide tolerance on salinity ($5{\sim}35\;psu$) and can be easily cultured in small space even they were not as sensitive as in the mortality test using the nauplius of marine invertebrates. However, these species revealed the significant "concentrationresponse relationship" tested with ocean disposal wastes, and reproducibility using cadmium as standard reference material between laboratories. Accordingly, these two species have good potential as test species for marine ecotoxicological test species. Also, we strongly recommend that at least one of these species be included in the test species of "battery test" in marine bioassay.

Ultrasonic transducers with high resolution and resonant frequency are required to detect small defects (less than hundreds of ${\mu}m$) by ultrasonic testing. The resonance frequency and resolution of an ultrasonic transducer are closely related to the thickness of piezo-electric materials, backing materials, and the electric impedance matching technique. Among these factors, electrical impedance matching plays an important role because it can reduce the loss and reflection of ultrasonic energy differences in electrical impedance between an ultrasonic transducer and an ultrasonic defects detecting system. An LC matching circuit is the most frequently used electric matching method. It is necessary for the electrical impedance of an ultrasonic transducer to correspond to approximately $50{\Omega}$ to compensate the difference in electrical impedance between both connections. In this study, a 15 MHz immersion ultrasonic transducer was fabricated and an LC electrical impedance circuit was applied to that for having broad-band frequency characteristic.

Black seabream juveniles Acanthopagrus schlegelii held at $20^{\circ}C$ were exposed to formalin at concentrations of 50 to 400 ppm, and tolerance values were determined by calculating median lethal concentration values (LC50) through probit analysis. The 12-, 24, 48, 72- and 96-h LC50 values for formalin were 297, 233, 171, 162 and 157 ppm, respectively. The histological effects of formalin on gill and liver tissues in this fish were determined. No histological effects were observed in the control group. The intensity of cell damage increased with the concentration of, and duration of exposure to, formalin. Hyperplasia, separation and epithelial necrosis, epithelial lifting, lamellar synechiae and collapsed lamellae were observed in gill tissues exposed to formalin. Hepatic lesions in liver tissues of fishes exposed to formalin were characterized by cloudy swelling of hepatocytes, necrosis, cytoplasmic vacuolization, deposition of pigments, spongiosis hepatis, nuclear hypertrophy, dilation of sinusoids and bile stagnation. The LC50 values and histological results obtained in this study will aid in designing treatment regimens to minimize toxic side effects and increase efficacy.
