Development of GIS Software for Connecting Functions between Geographic Information and URLs (지리정보와 URL 연동을 위한 GIS S/W 개발)

  • Recent Internet Service Environment has been moved to provide geographic information based on location as well as existent various information. In this paper, we develop an integrated software connecting GIS information to Internet. In the other hand, in GIS S/W, it is important that rapid output of Digital Map and effective trnasmission of specified Digital Map about moving area. To achieve the purpose, we propose a reduced digital format to diminish original digital maps. Also, we develop a GIS-based software engine with functions connecting location information to URL as well as map viewer and map handling. Futhermore, our developed GIS S/W is based Module in LBS application using GPS sensor.

  • Recently, location based service(LBS) expended based on personal specialized service, however since commercialized GPS based emergency rescue service comes with shadow zone for GPS signal such as inside building, the accuracy and reliability are not guaranteed. Therefore to improve such problem, we propose an active location detecting algorithm using RFID-TAG and Yagiantenna. To track the location of RFID-TAG where signal is generated, location tracking device in which Yagi-Antenna is installed moves around. Since directed wave and reflected wave co-exist during signal reception, final signal generated location is searched by setting up multiple of locations where signal can be generated on the map and moving location tracking device along minimum length of path. The algorithm proposed in this paper was verified of its technical validity through simulator.

  • In this paper we has implemented a tour guide terminal using the embedded linux. The implemented terminal can locate its position using GPS interface and display the sightseeing information of the current location. With view of this implementation results, we confirmed the possibility of embedded linux terminal as a tour guide PDA. The realtime update of sightseeing information using a mobile communication functionality will be included in our future works.

  • GPS(Global Positioning System) data has a high accuracy at outdoor positioning generally, but its accuracy decreases in the urban areas with dense buildings. Moreover insufficient number of satelllites prevent us GPS positioning at inside of buildings. To complement these shortcomings of GPS, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) has been studied on indoor positioning parts. In Ubiquitous environment, LBS(Location Based Service) which can be used anytime and anywhere is an essential component. We use kalman filter to estimate the real location in GPS and RFID handover area. This study's purpose is to make a continuous positioning system using interlocking RFID and GPS.

  • 차량, 선박, 버스등과 같은 이동체의 위치정보를 유무선 통신망의 사용자에게 실시간으로 제공하는 방법을 기술한다. 각 이동체는 고유의 LBS번호가 지정된 GPS단말기를 탑재하고, 사용자는 유무선통신망을 통해 해당 LBS번호로 접속함으로써 이동체에 대한 위치정보서비스 및 모니터링, 오더링, SMS서비스를 호환성있게 제공받을 수 있다.

  • Currently, positioning methods for LBS(Location Based Service) are GPS and network-based positioning techniques that use mobile communication networks. In these methods, however, the accuracy of positioning decreases due to the propagation delay caused by the non-line-of-sight(NLOS) effect and the repeater. To address this disadvantage, the CDMA system uses Pattern Matching algorithm. The Pattern Matching algorithm constructs a database of the propagation characteristics of the RF signals measured during the GPS positioning along with the positioned locations, so that the location can be provided by comparing the propagation characteristics of the received signals and the database, upon a user's request. In the area where GPS signals are not received, however, a database cannot be constructed. There are problem that the accuracy of positioning decreases due to the area without a database Because Pattern Matching algorithm depend on database existence. Therefore, this paper proposed a pilot signal strength prediction algorithm to enable construction of databases for areas without databases, so as to improve the performance of the Pattern Matching algorithm. The database was constructed by predicting the pilot signals in the area without a database using the proposed algorithm, and the Pattern Matching algorithm analysed positioning performance.

  • Small-sized domestic logistics-companies are required to satisfy the high quality of logistics information service. However, these companies are not prepared to complete customers' requirement because of the e-logistics process, excess of logistics distribution steps, and so forth. Moreover, large-sited foreign logistics companies are going into domestic market and trying to share the market. In this paper, we propose an ASP-based real-time Logistics Information Control System using location-based service(LBS) and logistics information service to reinforce the competitiveness of domestic logistics-companies and improve the customer service quality. This system is designed to trace and control the real-time logistics movement information by using GPS and to process the transportation information by using SMS.

  • Recently, many WMS(Web Mapping Services) and POI(Point of Interest) service on to be in service on the Internet using Web CIS(Geographic Information System) as information Technology and computer HW are evolved faster in its speed, network bandwidth and features. The Web GIS is, however, limited and constrained on the specification of its system configuration, the service class provided and the presentation methodology of a map. As the mobile Internet becomes popular in mobile service, Web GIS service on mobile environment is strongly required and to be provided by LBS(Location Based Service) on a mobile client such as PDA with location information of the user. In this paper, we made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web mapping service. For implementing the thin client GIS computing environment, we were using NGII's(National Geographic Information Institute's) DXF map, representing the map by SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) recommended by OGC(OpenGis Consortium), and adapting standard XML web service to provide the thin client GIS service on PDA by applying the location information of the user in realtime with GPS on mobile environment.

  • There are various Location-Based Services(LBS) that apply GPS technology in mobile devices such as smart-phone and tablet. In this paper, we designed non-face-to-face oriented LBS software in the reality that non-face-to-face services are increasing due to COVID-19. The proposed model searches location information for trading goods or services and utilizes information identified in real time. The proposed scheduling and priority control algorithm provides efficient service allocations and simulation was performed based on web/app to verify this. While commercialized LBS platforms focus on used goods transactions, the designed method is different in that it provides non-face-to-face services and not-direct transactions between individuals. It provides a wide range of transactions and services to users such as small business owners and franchises.

  • This paper proposes a technique of indoor localization for mobile robot by so called indoor GPS and EKF. Basically the concept of indoor GPS is similar outdoor GPS, and the indoor GPS gets distances between Anchors and Tag by a ranging method of CSS and then estimates the coordinate by distances and known Anchor positions. After we performed performance test of indoor GPS system in ideal and multipath environment, we configured that the indoor GPS has internal error factors and external error factors. This paper handled a multipath problem belonging to external error factors. At first various direct physical method are introduced to fix the multipath problems, and as expected we got errors corrected considerably. And then the method of selective anchors for indoor GPS is applied. With these two level improvement of indoor GPS performance, EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) is applied to mobile robot in indoor environment. The usefulness of the proposed methods are shown by a series of experiments in a environment giving contaminated data by multipath.
