  • Kwangju granite body located in vicinity of Kwangju city consist of three rock bodies-Kwangju rock body, Jangsung rock body and Youngkwang rock body. Petrochemistry of Kwangju granite is as follows: Kwangju granite body is igneous complex which compose of a series of differential products of a magma. Kwangju granites are divided into four rock facies based on the geologic age, mineralogical and chemical constituents and texture: Triassic hornblende-biotite granodiorite and biotite granite, and Jurassic porphyritic granite and two mica granite. Harker and other variation diagrams of Kwangju granites plot on trend of calc-alkali rock series and range of peraluminous granite. Parental magma type of Kwangju granites correspond to I-type, Syn-Collision type in compressive stress field by collision movement between both rock block. In chondrite normalized REE patterns of Kwangju grnites, LREE enriched than HREE in REE amount and have more steep negative slope with slightly (-) Eu anormaly.

  • Amyloidosis is defined as the presence of extra-cellular deposits of an insoluble fibrillar protein, amyloid. The pulmonary involvement of amyloidosis is usually classified as tracheobronchial, parenchymal nodular, or diffuse alveolar septal. A single nodular lesion can mimic various conditions, including malignancy, pulmonary tuberculosis, and fungal infection. To date, only one case of nodular pulmonary amyloidosis has been reported in Korea, a case involving multiple nodular lesions. Here, we report and discuss the case of a patient having single nodular amyloidosis.

  • This study was designed to develop and validate an isocratic reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic(HPLC) method for the quantitation of sobrerol in drug preparations, and obtain the data pool that can be used in the revision of pharmacopoeia. The separation of sobrerol and the other compounds (S-carboxymethylcysteine, acetaminophen, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, and sobrerol degradants) was achieved in a C18 column with an acetonitrile-methanol-water(24.5:10.5:65.0) mobile phase. • The significant spring-time phenomenon known as the "Yellow Sand" influences not only regional but also global climate. It′s believed that frequency of yellow-sand events has increased in recent years. To investigate the possible factors inducing these special strong weather phenomenon and its impacts on meteorological elements, intensive sampling will be conducted by ADEMRC/KJIST from March to May 2003. Lagrangian trajectory (forward and backward), cluster analysis, factor analysis and satellite remote sense (SRS) techniques will be employed to inspect the mechanisms of yellow-sand. (omitted)
