교육과정 특성화를 통한 사이버대학 발전 방안 연구 (A Study on the Curriculum Specialization for the Growth of Cyber Universities)

  • 평생교육법을 근거로 설립된 사이버대학들은 등록률 감소하는 등 경영상의 어려움에 직면해 있다. 이러한 어려움의 주요한 원인 중 하나는 교육과정의 특성화 미흡에 기인한다. 즉, 교육방법적 측면에서 사이버공간을 활용하였을 뿐 교육과정 차원에서 경쟁하는 기존 평생교육 및 고등교육기관과의 차별성 부족으로 인해 평생교육 영역에서 확고한 자리 매김을 하지 못하고 있는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 사이버대학이 지행해야 할 교육과정 특성화 방향을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위해 사이버대학의 교육과정에 관한 선행연구, 사이버대학들의 교육과정 사이버대학이 처한 경영환경을 분석한 후 이를 기초로 교육과정의 특성화 방향을 도출하고 이와 연계하여 사이버대학의 발전 방안을 제시하였다.

대학 보건프로그램의 실태 및 분석 (A Study on Current Status of University Health Care Programs)

  • Purpose: To identify current status of university health care program. Methods: Data and information from homepages of 309 colleges or universities in South Korea were collected. The data was analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ${\chi}^2$ test with SPSS Ver. 18.0. Results: 117(37.9%) universities had organization of health care. Whether university had health care program or not had shown significantly depended on number of students, types of school (university or college), region, and existence of medical and nursing course. Medical course was shown as a strong predictor for facilitating university health care program limitedly focusing on diseases treatment. Health promotion programs have been operated in 15 universities, vaccination programs in 10 universities, and health screening in 20 universities. Conclusion: It is strongly recommended to revise the School Health Law for constructing a comprehensive university health care program consolidating health counseling and physical training.

신학대학도서관의 장서개발정책 수립에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Establishment of Collection Development Policies at Libraries of Theological Universities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 국내 신학대학교도서관의 장서개발정책 수립 요인과 장서개발정책 모형을 제시하기 위함이다. 이를 위하여 장서개발정책 사례로 국외 신학대학교도서관의 장서개발정책 구성요소 및 세부사항을 분석하였고, 국내 신학대학교도서관의 장서개발정책 현황을 파악하기 위하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과를 바탕으로 국내 신학대학교도서관에서 장서개발정책 수립을 위해 고려해야 할 외적 환경요인과 내적 요인을 밝히고 이를 기초로 서문, 장서의 선정, 장서의 수집, 예산, 장서의 유지 및 관리, 상호협력과 지적자유, 장서개발정책 개정의 7개 영역으로 구분하여 국내 신학대학교도서관의 장서개발정책 모형을 제안하였다.

대학 캠퍼스 조경의 의미와 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Meaning and Revitalization Strategy of Landscape Architecture in University Campus)

  • This study is to examine the present situation relating to the works for landscape architecture in the universities of Korea with the aim of efficient landscape architecture in university campus and to provide the fundamental data of the logical and organized approach to the plans for campus landscape architecture. A survey of the staffs for landscape architecture in 20 national universities all over the country was carried out on the lot utilization ratio of each university, the development of landscape architecture department and its professionals in universities, the establishing status of the plans for landscape architecture of each university, and the satisfaction level of landscape architecture staffs. The results show that most universities pay a little attention to the whole campus landscape architecture according as they don't conduct the systematic works for landscape architecture and some which are done partially attach importance only to maintenance work such as simple controls of open space and trees. As a consequence, the active utilization of potential lot on campus and the organization of professionals and specialized teams for landscape architecture should be realized in order to make the works for campus landscape architecture effective. Besides, in policies, it is thought that the development of general plans and budgets for landscape architecture at the stage of establishing the medium-and long-tenn growth schemes of the universities is required.

대학교문의 조형적 특성과 선호도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of the Form and the Preference of the Main Gates of Universities in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to focus on the characteristics of the form and preference of the main gates of universities. The gate of a university have both functions and artistic design aspects. Fifty-two universities selected for this study were placed all around country except for Je-ju island. The following two research methods were used for this study. 1) an analysis of form character through a classification of the types. 2) and analysis of preference to the gates through a side show. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Main gates of universities were classified by covered-type and uncovered-type in existence of cover. And they were classified by eighteen types in detail. 2. Visual preference have been analyed by using the regression, the result is as follows: Y=-0.357+0.630 X$_4$+0.377X$_1$+0.075X$_2$-0.015X$_3$($R^2$=0.971, X$_4$;harmony, X $_1$;speciality, X$_2$;softness, X$_3$;complex) 3. The gate of Chung-Ang university(Ahn Sung campus) is the highest of all the universities at the average of preference 4.32 through result of slide show. Covered type has a higher preference than uncovered type. This has a good modification and decoration in front side type of main gate.

대학 캠퍼스 공간적 지표에 의한 유형화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Classification by the Spatial Index of the University Campuses)

  • This paper presents the investigation results on the classification of the university campuses. For the classification, we selected the spatial index as the evaluation indicator since the environmental factors and maintenance methods vary from university campus to university campus. For the study, we used eight spatial indices of the 30 national universities. This paper provides the spatial characteristics of different campus types, presents campus classification analysis as a future research approach to campus maintenance, and provides the data for the future study of comparison among universities. The results are as follows. 1) The classification investigation categorized the university campuses into three groups. Type 1 is a large-scale type, located near downtown. Type 2 is a medium-scale type, located at a remote site from downtown. Type 3 is a small-scale type, which is located comparatively near downtown. 2) Type 1 is a large-scale mixed area type, and 13 universities belong to this group. Type 2 is a medium-scale suburban area type, and six universities are in this group. Finally, Type 3 is a small-scale downtown area type, and 11 universities belong to this group.

Discovery, semisynthesis, biological activities, and metabolism of ocotillol-type saponins

  • Ocotillol-type saponins are one kind of tetracyclic triterpenoids, sharing a tetrahydrofuran ring. Natural ocotillol-type saponins have been discovered in Panax quinquefolius L., Panax japonicus, Hana mina, and Vietnamese ginseng. In recent years, the semisynthesis of 20(S/R)-ocotillol-type saponins has been reported. The biological activities of ocotillol-type saponins include neuroprotective effect, antimyocardial ischemia, antiinflammatory, antibacterial, and antitumor activities. Owing to their chemical structure, pharmacological actions, and the stereoselective activity on antimyocardial ischemia, ocotillol-type saponins are subjected to extensive consideration. In this review, we sum up the discovery, semisynthesis, biological activities, and metabolism of ocotillol-type saponins.

대학생의 건강수준 향상을 위한 포괄적 건강증진 정책 방안 (Development of Comprehensive Health Promotion Policies for University Students)

  • Objectives: The purposes of this study were to describe comprehensive health promotion policies for university students in Korea and to discuss the implications based on the socio-ecological approaches. Methods: A web-based search was performed to identify empirical programs and literature to develop health promotion policies and strategies in university settings. Results: Five domains for policy development are suggested for comprehensive health promotion policies in universities: evidence-based policy development; establishment of supportive policy through network and partnership; infrastructure of university; systems approach with education, environment, enforcement and policy tailored for universities; and sustainability for policy implementation. Conclusions: For healthy universities and students, government, community, health professionals, organizations and universities are all responsible as main agents for the five domains suggested in this study. Multi-level approaches with political, organizational and environmental changes should be sustained as an ongoing process.

대학보건소의 현황과 활성화 방안 연구 - 서울시 여자대학을 중심으로 - (Development of Activation Program through the Evaluation of University Health Center - on the women's university in Seoul -)

  • The purpose of this research is to plan the activation of university health business through the appraisal of the function and role of university health centers. To be more specific: Firstly, analyze the facility, personnel, health service of the health centers, Secondly, appraise the role and function of the health centers, and Thirdly, consider the activation plans of health centers. The research method taken was the study of surveys conducted and written research materials on 5 women's universities in Seoul. These materials where descriptively analyzed by converting the surveys, facility and usage of health center and current personnel status in to percentage. The major results of the research are as follows: Unlike as stated in each university's additional clause on the number of personnel were working. This lack of specialized personnel resulted into lack of specialized and various services. Medicine for external application were stocked well whereas only simple medicine for internal application were on shelf and were issued only with a doctor's prescription. Universities with a full-time doctor had various available equipments. One university conducting dental treatment was equipped with indirect chest camera, dental X-ray, unit, chair(dental treatment chair) and even supersonic, electrocardiogram were available. In the case of D women's university, the number of beds compared to the number of students was lower than that of the other 3 universities, to the total size of the university was smaller than that of the other 3 universities. Among health prevention and care matters, health consultation was the only matter practised by all universities. Uniquely, there was one university that hosted epidemic prevention business. There are various tests given by each university, with each showing many differences, but some universities did not even conduct these tests. Vaccinations were usually being conducted through commission. All universities provided basic treatment, therefore matters concerning treatment at health centers were being conducted well. Concerning the management of equipment and documents, all the matters were being conducted except one university where instead of a student medical record, they were using a daily record. Because these were women's universities, most of the educations were on women's health. The subjects of these educations included: sex, contraception, prevention and control of tuberculosis, obesity, mouth hygiene, alcohol, geriatric disease, mental health and first-aid. The rate of health center usage is growing. Being women's universities, the service and treatment practised were mostly concerning sex education.

고등교육 프랜차이즈 운영 및 질 관리에 관한 연구: 영국의 사례를 중심으로 (The Management and Quality Assurance of Higher Education Franchising: A Case Study of UK Universities)

  • 본 연구는 영국 대학들의 고등교육 프랜차이즈 운영 및 질 관리 실태를 분석할 목적으로 수행되었다. 영국의 중부랭카셔대학, 리버풀존무어스대학, 런던메트로폴리탄대학의 사례를 프로그램 운영 배경, 협력 내용 및 운영형태, 추진체계 및 절차, 품질관리라는 4개 영역을 토대로 분석한 결과, 주요 특징은 다음과 같이 밝혀졌다. 첫째, 영국 대학들의 프랜차이즈 방식 교육과정 공동운영은 학생 자원과 재정의 확보라는 영국 대학의 관심과 국제화 및 위상 제고라는 파트너 대학의 관심이 호혜적으로 반영된 것이다. 둘째, 협력 분야는 영국 대학의 강점 분야와 파트너 대학의 필요에 따라 결정되었으며 영국 대학의 자율성에 힘입어 운영 형태와 학위수여 방식은 다양화되어 있다. 셋째, 프랜차이즈 운영의 투명성과 타당성 확보를 위한 추진체계가 중층적으로 구성되어 있으며, 프로그램 도입 단계에서 대학 본부의 지원이 체계적으로 제공된다. 넷째, 영국 대학들은 본교와 동일한 품질의 교육서비스를 파트너 대학에 제공하기 위해 엄격한 자체 품질관리를 시행하고 있으며 그 과정에서 고등교육질보장청(QAA)은 중요한 안내 역할을 수행한다. 이상 연구 결과를 토대로 고등교육 프랜차이즈에 관심을 가진 우리나라 대학들과 정부가 해외진출 시 유념할 시사점을 도출하여 제시하였다.
