이 논문의 주된 목적은 경험주의적 언어관을 지탱해 왔던 '언어-경험 대응'이라는 가정이 근원적으로 그릇된 것이며, 그 가정에 근거한 문자적 의미 또한 공허한 이론적 가정의 산물이라는 점을 밝히려는 것이다. 필자는 체험주의적 시각에 의존해서 언어가 기호의 체계이며, 따라서 그 의미 또한 기호적으로 주어질 수밖에 없다는 점에 주목했다. 기호적 경험의 구조에 대한 체험주의적 해명에 따르면 기표의 의미는 그것에 기호적으로 사상되는 경험 내용이다. 나아가 기호적 사상이 본성적으로 부분적이라는 것은 기표와 사상되는 경험 내용 사이에 본성적 괴리가 존재한다는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 괴리는 일대일 대응의 원천적 불가능성을 의미하며, 그것은 문자적 의미의 불가능성을 의미한다. 이러한 새로운 구도 안에서 언어적 의미에 대한 해명은 기호적 경험에 대한 해명의 일부가 되어야 한다. 여기에서 객관주의가 가정했던 객관성은 발견되지 않을 것이다. 그러나 언어는 여전히 소통 가능한 정도의 안정성을 드러내며, 우리는 그 안정성의 근거를 신체적이고 물리적인 경험의 공공성에서 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

Body has been high-lightened as one of the most important theme since the philosophy and the arts are focused on it in the late 20th century. It would be of worth to study the characteristics of contemporary fiber-art works, especially done by Abakanowiz who has been regarded as a dominant pioneer in the contemporary fiber-arts from the viewpoint of inter-grade of the physicals and the mental. This paper, therefore, deals with the Abaknowiz' works in the context of human body and body-signs. Life and works might be classified into 5 stages: first, learning period since her birth in 1930, second, creation period of Abakans, third, remodelling period of Abakans, fourth, composition and dissolution period of Abakans and the last and fifth, new transformation period of Abakans. 'Abakans' through her whole life as an artist have been a plastic language and based ultimately on external human body but in various materials and forms. Abakan as a human-sign uses the past experiences and the texts of the other world in mixed and overlapped forms. Life-size Abakans by Abaknowiz can be easily understood as Abakanowiz herself and her Polish ancestor at the same time. The neuter Abakans with mashed face and obscure body is a expressive figure of coexisting world with opposite concepts like war and ideology, anxiety and freedom, man and woman, and etc. Human body as body-sign is an extensive image has existed since our forefathers and overlapped with the inter textual and the popular images. 'Abakans' that is our world and inner-self at the same time might be a window through which she tries to show what the world is.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the pragmatic functions of '-ketun(yo)' expressed in the discourse associating with the context of communication based on the actual conversations of Korean native speakers. As discourse is closely related to the context, contextual factors surrounding the discourse should be actively considered in order to reveal the function of grammar expressed in the discourse. Also, there is need to consider the grammatical functions in terms of the linguistic user which is the subject of interaction in the discourse. Based on this necessity, in this study, we analyzed the pragmatic functions of '-ketun(yo).' As a result, '-ketun(yo)-' had a great influence on the formation and expansion of the shared context in communication contexts. The shared context is expanded through generative mutual knowledge and priori mutual knowledge. As a result of the conversation analysis, '-ketun(yo)-' was used at a high frequency in the expansion of generative mutual knowledge formation. In addition, '-ketun(yo)-' appeared to have a discourse cohesion function that binds topics with other topics. In the case that '-ketun(yo)-' is formed through priori mutual knowledge, '-ketun(yo)-' could be used as a sign to lead the union of the speaker and the listener. This study has significance in that it examines the pragmatic functions of '-ketun(yo)-' in relation to the context of communication based on actual utterance.

The object of this study is to show some features of English, focused on such mechanics as punctuation and transition, in Korean presidential addresses transcribed in English which are different from those of the United States. Towards that end, the presidential addresses of the United States and Korea from January, 2010 to June, 2010 are collected, made into corpora, and analyzed. Through analyzing the corpora, this paper is to address the following research questions: (1) What features can be regarded as different in terms of punctuation and transition? (2) If there are any differences between the corpora, are they significant enough to pose any problems for Korean and American English users to communicate with each other? (3) If so, what can be done to solve the problems in regard to pedagogical implications? Overall, as for punctuation, both Presidents' addresses share a lot in common, even with some idiosyncratic variations though. However, there are some noticeable differences in transitional devices. It is not clear whether those should be taken as a sign of personal preference, though. Transitional markers are meant to be part of wording in writing. (196 words).

공항은 다양한 시설들이 혼재되어 있는 복합 공간으로 원하는 장소로 이동하기 위해서는 지도나 표지판뿐만 아니라 유·무인 안내 서비스를 이용하는 것이 필수적이다. 그러나 이러한 시설 안내 서비스는 이용객의 대다수를 차지하는 비장애인을 기준으로 설계되어 있는 것이 대부분이며, 특히 청각장애인은 음성 언어인 한국어를 통한 의사소통이 어려워 이러한 안내 서비스의 사각 지대에 놓여있다고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 청각장애인을 대상으로 공항 내 시설 위치 안내 서비스를 제공하는 키오스크를 구현하기 위해 마커리스(makerless) 한국 수어 인식 기술을 적용하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 알고리즘들이 수어를 인식하기 위해 사용자의 신체에 마커(marker)를 부착하거나 사용에 제약이 있는 깊이, 자기장 센서 등을 활용한 데 반해, 특징점 기반의 인식 기술은 별도의 마커 없이 RGB 영상만을 활용하여 수어를 인식하기 때문에 사용자의 편의성을 극대화할 수 있는 방법이다. 영상 기반의 마커리스 수어 인식 기술을 위치 안내 키오스크에 적용함으로써 청각장애인이 다른 사람의 도움 없이 공항 시설을 쉽고 안전하게 이용할 수 있도록 지원할 수 있으며, 나아가 배리어프리 (barrier-free) 공항을 구현하는 데에 큰 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Overhead cranes are the most widely used and have been identified as one of the main causes of fatal accidents. Although structural, mechanical and electrical safety standards for overhead cranes have been established to some extent, ergonomic standards related to crane controllers are rarely established. As a result, many crane accidents are reported to be caused by operator's error. To investigate the actual use of crane controllers in the industrial field, we surveyed 82 overhead cranes in 15 workplace and interviewed workers operating them. This study has presented the ergonomic problems related to the crane controllers in the field. As a result of investigation, it was found that the direction control signs, the sign language, and the button layout on the pendant switches and remote controllers are not standardized, which can cause a human error. To reduce human errors in overhead crane operation, ergonomic standards for controllers should be reflected on the government legislation or standards.

현행 수화방송서비스는 방송영상 화면위에 수화영상을 덧씌우는 방식으로 송출하기 때문에 수화영상의 크기가 작고 수화 영상을 제거하거나 크기 위치 조정이 불가능하여 청각장애인의 TV 시청에 불편함을 초래하고 있다. 청각장애인의 방송접근권 확대와 일반시청자의 TV 시청환경 제고를 위해 스마트 수화방송서비스는 방송 인터넷 융합 하이브리드 방식으로 방송영상과 수화영상을 방송망과 인터넷망으로 각각 송출하고 TV수신기가 두 영상의 동기화를 처리하고 앱을 통해 수화영상의 크기, 위치 조정 및 제거 서비스를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 방송 인터넷 융합 하이브리드 방식인 스마트 수화방송서비스의 표준 기술 및 동기화 방식을 소개하고 스마트 수화방송 시험환경 및 동기화 지연시간 측정 결과를 소개한다.

For human-robot interaction, a robot should recognize the meaning of human behavior. In the case of static behavior such as face expression and sign language, the information contained in a single image is sufficient to deliver the meaning to the robot. In the case of dynamic behavior such as gestures, however, the information of sequential images is required. This paper proposes behavior classification by using fuzzy classifier to deliver the meaning of dynamic behavior to the robot. The proposed method extracts feature points from input images by a skeleton model, generates a vector space from a differential image of the extracted feature points, and uses this information as the learning data for fuzzy classifier. Finally, we show the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed method through experiments.

Computer programs for IBM PC/XT/AT or compatibles, are presented for running 9 nonparametric tests. They include sign test, Wilcoxon signed rank test, Mann-Whitney Wilcoxon test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov one sample and two sample tests, Kendall and Spearman rank correlation coefficient tests, and Chi square test for contingency table. Each program is written with BASIC language and is combined into a statistical package, 'NONPARA'. It is easily accessible through the menu programs. The alogorithms on which each test is based, are also explained and 3 examples are given.

청각장애인을 위한 지상파방송 서비스 중 자막방송은 100%에 가까운 편성 비율을 달성하고 있지만, 화면을 가리는 수화방송은 5% 수준의 편성에 그치고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자막방송을 수화로 번역하여 그래픽 수화방송을 생성함으로써 수화방송의 비율을 높이고자 한다. 수화 단어들의 빈도를 파악하고 중요 단어부터 모션 캡처하기 위해 과거 3년간 일기예보 스크립트를 분석하였다. 자막방송 문장을 형태소별로 분석한 다음 중요 품사 위주로 단어 단위로 번역하고, 기 구축된 한국어 어휘의미망을 이용하여 수화사전에 없는 유의어와 하위어를 대표어로 대체하였다. 기계번역 기술이 수화통역사의 수준을 따라잡을 수는 없지만 향후 수화방송도 선택적 서비스가 가능해지고 수화통역사의 수화방송이 모든 프로그램에 편성될 때까지 본 시스템이 보조적 시청 수단으로 사용 가능할 것이다.
