Development of a Parametric Simulation Model by a Model Integration Method for Production System with Robots (모델 접속 기법에 의한 로봇 응용 생산시스템의 파라메트릭 시뮬레이션모델 개발)

  • In this study, a model integration method is pressented as a new method for development of a parametric simulation model. This method enable us to integrate the special simulation models for each production subsystem into a large simulation model. Not only this large simulation model but also each special simulation model for each production subsytem can be used independently. Using this integration method man can reduce the development time and cost for simulation model development. To show the usefulness of this method, a simulation model for a production system with robots is developed by this model integration method. This simulation model is realized by the integration of two special simulation models, one model for a machining subsystem and the other model for a transport subsystem. The modeled production system consists of the robotic cells for machining and a transport subsystem which enable the material flow among the robotic cells. The flow of workpiece in each robotic cell is not fixed. All machines in a robotic cell are only served by robots.

Sufficient Conditions for Stationarity of Smooth Transition ARMA/GARCH Models

  • Nonlinear asymmetric time series models have the growing interest in econometrics and finance. Threshold model is one of the successful asymmetric model. We consider a smooth transition ARMA model which converges a.s. to a threshold ARMA model and show that the smooth transition ARMA model admits a stationary measure, provided a suitable condition on the coefficients of the autoregressive parts of the different regimes is satisfied. Stationarity of a smooth transition GARCH model is also obtained.

  • Many air quality models have been used for Environmental impact assessments. Miller-Holzworth model suggested by Holzworth is a simple air quality model is frequently used for air quality assessments in korea. Miller-Holzworth model suggested by Holzworth is a simple air quality model for the ground-level area source, The model estimates the pollutants concentration averaged over the wind centerline. An error involved in the Miller-Holzworth model was first indentified by Calder in 1977. But the model has been used without correction for unsuitable cases in Korea. This paper corrected that error and modified model formulation for application to urban and rural areas.

Revisiting the Bradley-Terry model and its application to information retrieval

  • The Bradley-Terry model is widely used for analysis of pairwise preference data. We explain that the popularity of Bradley-Terry model is gained due to not only easy computation but also some nice asymptotic properties when the model is misspecified. For information retrieval required to analyze big ranking data, we propose to use a pseudo likelihood based on the Bradley-Terry model even when the true model is different from the Bradley-Terry model. We justify using the Bradley-Terry model by proving that the estimated ranking based on the proposed pseudo likelihood is consistent when the true model belongs to the class of Thurstone models, which is much bigger than the Bradley-Terry model.

  • Bass diffusion model have played a central role in studying the diffusion of the new products since 1969, the year of publication of Bass model. Almost 750 publications based on the Bass diffusion model have explored extensions and applications. Extension models can be divided into two types. One is the model containing marketing-mix variables and the other is the model containing additional parameters. This paper presents another extension model of the latter type. Our model allows the time varying coefficients of innovation and imitation. Two pieces approximation of time varying coefficients is introduced and it's parameters are estimated based on NLS(Non-Linear Mean Square) method. Empirical studies are performed and the results show that our model is superior to the basic Bass model and the NUI(Non-Uniform Influence) model which is the well-known extension of the Bass model. The model developed in this paper is, also, transformed into the Bass model with the ready potential adopters in order to enhance the descriptive power.

Determinants of the Community Health Service Utilization (지역 보건서비스의 산출에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study focuses on the determinants of the community health service utilization. Theories suggest seven models for community health service utilization, which are divided largely into two groups such as Health Service Supply Model and Health Service Demand Model: Supply Model includes Medical Implements Model, Personnel and Budget Model, Management System Model, Staffs' Behavior Model, Service Quality Model; Demand Model includes Area Model and Clients' Characteristics Model. This paper tests how the above models influence on the community health service utilization. After interviewing some administrative staffs of the Community Health Service Center at Pusan, questionnaires were made and mailed to the staffs of 198 Korean Community Health Service Center as a universe, among which from 98 centers we got response. Analyzing the data from the questionnaires, we found "the number of personnels in the health service center" and "demands for medical service" as important variables to affect the utilization of the community health service center. These two variables are typical factors representing Supply Model and Demand Model each. However, the variables selected from Management System Model, Administrative Behavior Model, Service Quality Model and Area model are not significant in a statistical sense. The paper suggests that to recruit the personnels, especially nurses, and to make out the demands of the clients for health service be the precedent conditions to increase the utilization of the Community Health Service Centers in Korea.ce Centers in Korea.

Analyses of Fracture Tube Tearing using Gurson Model and Shear Failure Model (Gurson Model과 Shear Failure Model을 이용한 파쇄튜브의 찢어짐 해석)

  • Two kinds of failure model, that is, the Gurson model and a shear failure model were used for the finite element analyses of simple and notch tensile specimens and axial compression of a fracture tube with initial saw-cuts. The parameter values for the shear failure model were determined by a combined experimental and numerical analysis of the notch tensile specimens. After fitting the numerical parameters such as the yielding stress and the fracture shear strains, the Gurson model and the shear failure model were applied to the analysis of the fracture tube. Although the Gurson model and the shear failure model showed similar fracture behavior for the case of the tensile specimens, the respective results were different in the axial force and the crack growth rate of the fracture tube. That is, the shear failure model required more axial force to make the cracks propagate along the tube than the Gurson model. These are believed to show the lack of damage evolution process of the shear failure model. To decide which model is better in the tube analysis, experimental verification will be necessary.

Propagation Path-Loss Model for TV White Space of Korea

  • With the recent development of the 4th Industrial Revolution, efforts have been made to carry out communication in a smart factory, farm, etc. at low cost and reliably. Methods for utilizing empty frequencies using TVWS(TV White Space) have been studied which can be used locally within 30 km. However, there have not been many studies on Path-Loss model considering Korean environment. In this paper, the Path-Loss model is divided into LOS (Line Of Sight) and NLOS (None LOS). In case of LOS model, we checked the difference between Free space model, Friis model, 2-ray model and Hata model with measured data. In the case of NLOS model, we checked the difference between Lee Model, ITU-R526-3 Model with measured data. In order to overcome the difference in Korean environment, we derived a model that can be applied in LOS and NLOS and prove its usefulness through performance evaluation through simulation.

  • The $textsc{k}$-$\varepsilon$ algebraic stress model (KEASM) was applied to atmospheric dispersion simulation using the Lagrangian particle dispersion model and was compared with the most popular turbulence closure model in the field of atmospheric simulation, the Mellor-Yamada (MY) model. KEASM has been rarely applied to atmospheric simulation, but it includes the pressure redistribution effect of buoyancy due to heat and momentum fluxes. On the other hand, such effect is excluded from MY model. In the simulation study, the difference in the two turbulence models was reflected to both the turbulent velocity and the Lagrangian time scale. There was little difference in the vertical diffusion coefficient $\sigma$$_{z}$. However, the horizontal diffusion coefficient or calculated by KEASM was larger than that by MY model, coincided with the Pasquill-Gifford (PG) chart. The applicability of KEASM to atmospheric simulations was demonstrated by the simulations.s.

Lateral Dynamic Model of an All-Wheel Steered Articulated Vehicle for Guidance Control (전차륜조향 굴절차량의 안내제어를 위한 횡방향 동역학 모델)

  • This paper deals with the lateral dynamic model of an all-wheel steered articulated vehicle to design a guidance controller. Nonlinear dynamic model of articulated vehicle is developed by complementing the model about the BRT system of California PATH in U. S. A. and the Phileas system of the APTS in Netherlands. Linear lateral dynamic model has been derived from the nonlinear dynamic model under some assumptions associated with the driving conditions. To design a guidance controller, we derive a transfer function that is steering angle as input and lateral acceleration as output from the linear lateral dynamic model by applying the parameter of vehicle that is developed by Korea Railroad Research Institute. To validate the dynamic model, nonlinear dynamic model has been compared with a vehicle model that has been programmed in ADAMS, and linear dynamic model has been compared with a nonlinear dynamic model under sime assumptions.
