본 연구는 한국어 화장품 리뷰 코퍼스의 자질기반 감성 분석을 위하여, 이 도메인에서 실현되는 중요한 다단어 표현(MWE)의 유한상태 그래프 사전과 문법을 구축하는 방법론을 제시하고, 실제 구축된 사전과 문법의 성능을 평가하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구에서는 자연어처리(NLP)에서 중요한 화두로 논의되어 온 MWE의 어휘-통사적 특징을 부분문법 그래프(LGG)로 형식화하였다. 화장품 리뷰 코퍼스에 DECO 한국어 전자사전을 적용하여 어휘 빈도 통계를 획득하고 이에 대한 언어학적 분석을 통해 극성 MWE(Polarity-MWE)와 화제 MWE(Topic MWE)의 전체 네 가지 하위 범주를 분류하였다. 또한 각 모듈간의 상호관계에 대한 어휘-통사적 속성을 반복적으로 적용하는 이중 증식(double-propagation)을 통해 자원을 확장하였다. 이 과정을 통해 구축된 대용량 MWE 유한그래프 사전 DECO-MWE의 성능을 테스트한 결과 각각 0.844(Pol-MWE), 0.742(Top-MWE)의 조화평균을 보였다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서 제안하는 MWE 언어자원 구축 방법론이 다양한 도메인에서 활용될 수 있고 향후 자질기반 감성 분석에 중요한 자원이 될 것임을 확인하였다.

'형태소 깎는 노인'은 국어사 자료를 처리하는 고성능 자동 형태분석기의 개발이 난항을 겪고 있는 상황에서 수동으로 형태분석 작업을 하는 연구자들을 지원하기 위하여 개발된 형태분석 보조기이다. 인간과 기계의 분업을 통해 인간의 피로를 최대한 줄이고, 단순 반복 형태에 대해서는 정답을 확실하게 제안할 수 있다는 것이 특징이다. 국어사 자료에는 한국어 정보처리를 위해 필요한 어휘 사전이 없으므로, 문법형태소 사전을 만들어 이를 단서로 조사/어미부와 어간부를 구분하도록 하였다. 이를 통해 구축된 소규모 형태분석 말뭉치들이 장기적으로는 자동 형태분석기의 성능 개선에 일조할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

In this paper, I seek to differentiate the meaning of the auxiliary verb '-e ka-' from imperfective aspect in Korean. The progressive in imperfective is expressed by the 'be+V-ing' in English and '-ko iss-' in Korean. However the '-e ka-' in Korean can express the gradual progress meaning. This is similar to the progressive of some state verbs. These verbs cannot express the progressive aspect but it is possible if they can express the change of state in sentence. It is more corresponding to the '-e ka-' than '-ko iss-' in Korean.

This paper reviews current developments in UG-related SLA·FLL research. It discusses the findings of Hahn (2000), Shin (2000) and Yang (2001) with respect to the following issues: the role of UG parameters in SLA·FLL and the developmental aspects of inflectional categories in Korean EFL learners' interlanguage. It contends that Korean EFL learners' inflectional grammars are constrained by L1 as well as by Universal Grammar.

The purpose of this paper is to get characteristics about Korean negative sentences in the 17th century. In this paper used method is to classify and collect statistics of negative sentences in the 17th century Korean literatures, then to reclassify according to morphological characteristics of predicates. The subjects of analysis are 'ani'(don't)' and 'mos(can't)' negative sentences except for 'malta(forbid)' negative sentences.

This paper examines syntactic categorial properties of “be” in Korean EFL beginners' utterances. Mainly based upon the acquisition data in Han (2000) and Shin (2000), it proposes that the so-called “S-be-X” construction is a projection of “underdeveloped” functional category F. The projection FP is different from other standard functional categories in that its head is not fully fledged.

Korean verb 'Casi-', which is treated as negative element in dictionaries, is actually a placeholder shows indefinite use, and '-ko casiko' construction is understood as a member of a class of 'Ending repetition construction'. However, unlike among others, '-ko casiko' construction is now undergoing developement of its negative polarity. Because of its indefiniteness, '-ko casiko' construction change its meaning into a universal negative when it is used in negative sentences.

Pronouns are frequently used in English, and their resolution is important to capture meaning of sentences. This paper provides a computational implementation for pronoun readings in English, based on Chierchia's (1988) Binding Theory in Categorial Grammar. A CCG-like system is newly devised for implementing his ideas, where syntactic phenomena are represented by the functor-argument relations of categories. This relation triggers resolution algorithms, and reflexives and pronominals are resolved succinctly. In sum, this paper gives an efficient resolution algorithm for English pronouns within Categorial Grammar.

In English we find two aspectual menaings, progressiveness and habits, which do not seem to fit in any of the classical four situation types of state, activity, accomplishment and achievement, established by Vendler in 1967. This paper analyzes the aspectual features of progressiveness and habits to find out their similarities to and differences from Vendler's four types. It turns out that the progressiveness has the same features as those of activity, and that the habits has independent combination of aspectual features distinguished from any of the four types.

In this paper I review previous analyses of specific indefinites, and propose a new analysis. The main claim is that a specific indefinite presupposes that an agent, a speaker in general, has in mind an individual which satisfies the descriptive content. I provide evidence for the ambiguity view of specificity. First, I show that a specific indefinite triggers a pre- supposition. Second, I show that a specific indefinite is a strong quantifier while a nonspecific is a weak one. Finally, I discuss different behaviors of specific and nonspecific indefinites in anaphora.
