  • Increase of multimedia information in Web requires a new method to manage and service multimedia documents efficiently. This paper proposes a conceptual object grouping method by fuzzy filtering, which is automatically constituted based on increase of multimedia documents. The proposed method composes subsumption relations between conceptual objects automatically using fuzzy filtering of the document objects that are extracted from domains. Grouping of such conceptual objects is regarded as subsumption relation which is decided by $\mu$-cut. This paper proposes $\mu$-cut, FAS(Fuzzy Average Similarity) and DSR(Direct Subsumption Relation) to decide fuzzy filtering, which groups related document objects easily. This paper used about 1,000 conceptual objects in the performance test of the proposed method. The simulation result showed that the proposed method had better retrieval performance than those for OGM(Optimistic Genealogy Method) and BGM(Balanced Genealogy Method).

  • This study compares shamans' costumes of Korea with those of Siberia and Central Asia. It also investigates the meaning of shamanism and shamans, the relationship of Korean shamanism to shamanism, and the genealogy of Korean shamanism. For collecting and analyzing data of the research, literature reviews, field studies, and the investigation of historical relics are mostly used. The following are the major findings of the research: Through the comparison of shamans' costumes of Korea with those of Siberia and Central Asia, this research finds out some similarities and differences in the costumes. Both Korean shamans and Siberian and Central Asian shamans wore shaman's costumes and used utensils like bells or mirrors when they perform a religious service. On their costumes, they both used an element which stands for birds. However, they were different in terms of the materials or styles of the costumes, of the function of the costumes, and of the decorating with ornaments. The differences in the materials or styles of the costumes, different functions of the costumes, and using ornaments or not can be viewed as a general phenomenon, which is resulted from different environments. The soul's departing the body or the possession or a mixed method can be considered as mere variations due to regional or cultural differences. In conclusion, based on the comparison of the costumes of shamans of Korea with those of Siberia and Central Asia, the shamans of Korea and Siberia and Central Asia share the same origin. And the genealogy of Korean shamans can be said to be originated from the northern shamanism.

  • This study is purpose to trace a genealogy of Rainbow stripe in 30 ethnic costumes in East Asia. And with through comparative views between Korean and the other minority that is shown a bilateral relation of rainbow stripe in their costume, we make sure the unique character of rainbow stripe in Korean traditional costume. The stripe in the costumes was generally used on sleeves with 3~6 patches. There were 10 types of methods for making the stripe including sewing. Weaving and sewing with trimming was also frequently used either and the stripe by weaving with multicolored yarns were mostly found in the southern region of china. Black, blue and red were frequently used in the costume as a main color that was contrasted with rainbow stripe and especially, black was mostly used. Korean preferred bright colors as a main color. Contents of the genealogy of the multicolored stripe in ethnic costume in East Asia are followed. The 28 ethnic groups who used the stripe in their dress except Korean, the Mans, Mongo people and Tibetan were located in the southern region of East Asia. And the other ethnic groups distributed in the northwest and northeast region of East Asia. The distribution of the rainbow stripe in the costume could be grouped into two sections: the southern region people and Korean-the Mongol people-the Tus- the Zangs group. And the latter group was shown strong relation with the culture of Korean's rainbow stripe costume. 11 ethnic peoples including Korean, the Vis, the Miaos, the Tus, the Mongol people, the Chaoxians, the Zangs, the Lahus, the Jinuos, the Hanis, the Luobas and the Dulongs, were saliently used the stripe in their costume. The stripe in Japanese costume was judged that was not a kind of the rainbow stripe was shown the other ethnic groups, was a color arrangement by layered dress or geometrical pattern. From above, we could recap a particular characteristic of the rainbow stripe in Korean traditional costume. Many colors were used in the stripe and bodies than the other ethnic people and the color was bright. In many cases, a color of patch at the point of armhole was red and Black color was not used in the stripe. The width of patch was a relatively narrow and regular. It has shown that the rainbow stripe in Korean traditional costume was organized independently.

  • As well as "Sangyeongpyo," "Gogyeong-Jeongripyo," table of national road transportation system is important to comprehend identity of national geography in Joseon era even if it had not been researched yet. The aim of this study is to divide type of these tables and find its genealogy through mainly analyzing the road network and land names. As the result of this research, "Yeojigo," topographical researches of Korea, edited by Shin Gyeong-Jun as a palt of "Dongguk-Munheonbigo" official book in natural history of the Joseon Dynasty published in 1770, might be identified as the origin for all copy of "Gogyeong-Jeongripyo." Then "Gogyeong-Jeongripyo," can be divided into at least three major types; almost direct descent of "Yeoji go" as 'type1', minor modification as 'type2', and hybrid edition(type3) with second type that quoted many land names as route information from "Dorogo," another topography specialized for road transportation. Since "Dorogo" was also composed by Shin, after all, all genealogy of "Gogyeong-Jeongripyo" came from him.

  • Libraries which have a large amount of genealogical materials need to manage them in a special way differing from the other materials. Although genealogy related materials have high pragmatic value, the reality is that the acquiring methods are limited to collect the genealogical table or is not systematic. Even the genealogical materials held in the library are not rationally organized. Under such circumstances, this study investigates the cases of the management of genealogical materials both in domestic and foreign institutions, and also examines the real situations of material organization such as the collection, the classification and the cataloging on the centering of the libraries which hold a large amount of genealogical materials. On the basis of this investigation, the study aims to measure the enhancement of the methods for collecting and organizing genealogical materials which enable the collection management and information retrieval fur them to be efficient and effective.

  • As the IT technology develops there is a service on internet in which the herbal treatments from medicinal classics can be found in a form of a database. If an assay, and a verification on individual informations on materia medica and the herbal treatments from medicinal classics is established, it would be an enormously efficient asset for the formation of new treatment as well as interpreting the basic information on the efficacy of a treatment. If asp.net is used to make such a system, the user can have access to the informations on materia medica and its treatment without having to setting up a separate system, and especially the user can attain visual information on the genealogy of the herbal treatments in its formation. However, there is a need to develop a more efficient program in terms of organizing the informations on herbs and herbal treatments.

  • Theses days, a number of data over the Internet are represented using XML because of a virtue of XML. In proportion to the increase of XML data, query processing techniques are required that support quickly and efficiently the diverse queries to search the useful information on XML documents. But, up to now, the researches handling queries for XML data are methodologies focusing on how to process regular path expressions. Therefore, we have developed a new genealogy-based indexing technique to solve various queries such as not only regular path expression but also simple path expression, path expression referencing other elements, and so on. Also, we have applied this technique on object-relational model and evaluated the performance for many documents and various query types. The result shows improved performance in comparison with the other storage techniques.

  • In general, there is summability among the mathematical tools that are the criterion for the convergence of infinite series. Many authors have studied on the summability of infinite series, the summability of Fourier series and the summability factors. Especially, $H{\ddot{u}}seyin$ Bor had published his important results on these topics from the beginning of 1980 to the end of 1990. In this paper, we investigate the minor academic genealogy of teachers and pupils from Fourier to $H{\ddot{u}}seyin$ Bor in section 2. We introduce the $H{\ddot{u}}seyin$ Bor's major results of the summability for infinite series from 1983 to 1997 in section 3. In conclusion, we summarize his research characteristics and significance on the summability of infinite series. Also, we present the diagrams of $H{\ddot{u}}seyin$ Bor's minor academic genealogy from Fourier to $H{\ddot{u}}seyin$ Bor and minor research lineage on the summability of infinite series.

Regionalization of the Lineage Group in Korea(II): Landscape Phase(16C~17C) (종족집단의 지역화과정에 관한 연구(II): 경관생산단계 - 16~17세기 계보의식의 탄생과 사회관계망의 공간적 확장 -)

  • It was the landscape phase that social relations were extended by production of landscapes during the 16C~17C. Core lineage groups in study area had extended socio-spatial nexus through making of the landscape of ‘authority-ostentation’(권력-과시형 경관) and of ‘kindness-civilization’(시혜ㆍ교화형 경관). Therefore they could gain a result that their power and authority took root in community perfectly. In the case of the Kims of Kwangsan(광산김씨), the first landscape of ‘kindness-civilization’ was Jungheodang(the learning room Jungheo), and next it was built Yangsungdang(the learning room Yangsung), and Imlijung(the pavilion Imli). Through this landscape production, the consciousness of scholastic genealogy was born, and this genealogy consciousness could be deepened and extended in regional scale. One more important feature in this phase is the point that the Kims of Kwangsan in Yeonsan area and the Songs of Unjin(은진송씨) in Hoiduk area could unite socially by the landscape production of ‘kindness-civilization type’ becoming intermediation. And these social union, that is to say, it do connote enlargement of the territoriality. It tells that community of ‘regional’ scale was formed by of core lineage groups of ‘local’ uniting each other.
