The Opinion about 'Hanllyu' and the Domestic Apparel Product Buying Behavior of Foreigners Residing in Seoul (국내 거주 외국인의 한류(韓流)에 대한 견해와 국내 의류 제품 구매 행동)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the foreigner's opinion about 'Hanllyu', and their buying behavior of clothes carried in Korean domestic market. The study was implemented through a normative-descriptive survey using self-administered questionnaires. The samples consisted of 75 foreigners residing in Korea. Data were analyzed by following statistical methods: frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2-test$, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's multiple range test. Results are as follows: There was no difference in the opinion about 'Hanllyu' between Chinese and Japanese. They regarded 'Hanllyu' as the phenomenon of the wave of Korean popular culture. Korean soap operas and movies were the main information sources on 'Hanllyu' stars for them. Significant differences were found in the behavior toward 'Hanllyu' stars according to sex and country, but there was no difference in the behavior according to their age. They mainly buy clothes in Dongdaemoon market and the main motivation of purchase were good design and price. The reason for dis-purchase was poor design. Respondents thought 'Hanllyu' fashion is gorgeous. There was significant difference in the behavior toward Korean culture according to sex.

A Study on Korea Country Image and Cosmetics Brand Image in Vietnam Market by the Korean Wave (한류가 베트남 시장에서 한국 이미지와 화장품 브랜드 이미지에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated how Korean image and cosmetics products image effect by the Korean Wave(Hanllyu) on the Vietnam Customer focus on the cosmetics. Especially, Korean Wave of this study consisted in the movie/drama, K-pop and Korean stars. Korean image and cosmetics brand image was effected by factors related to the Korean Wave which had been deducted, based on preceeding research. A study was conduct in Vietnam where the spread of the Korean Wave content customer bases has been over along time. A total of 295 samples were used for th final analysis. Data analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha, a confirmatory factor analysis, and multi-regression. It is also found that Korean image and cosmetics brand image has affect by Korean Wave. and Cosmetics purchasing intention has affect Korean image and cosmetics brand image.

Possibility of Gugak Fusion Bands as Shin-Hallyu Content (신한류 콘텐츠로서 국악퓨전밴드의 가능성 모색)

  • In order to prolong the Shin-Hallyu and make a significant leap forward, we analyzed the characteristics of Jambinai, Singsing Band, and Ackdan Gwangchil, bands that are recognized globally for their musicality and popularity. First, the socio-cultural background behind the world's attention on korean traditional music lies in the racial and cultural diversity that embraces the non-mainstream identity. In particular, the success of Korean traditional music fusion bands in non-Asian countries can satisfy their public seeking to enjoy an exotic culture that is different from Western culture. it is necessary to recognize cultural, social and musical differences depending on the country or ethnicity and to approach them accordingly. Second, in the same Asian region, Korean traditional music is not given a sense of homogeneity, but in the West, the Eastern heterogeneity seems to have become a stronger ompetitive edge. With the expansion of the new Korean Wave to various regions, it is necessary to try to form a regional repertoire. Third, we found the validity of the convergence with the new Korean Wave through the characteristics of Gugak musicians as the main body to build a world of traditional music and enable popularization and globalization. It is necessary to highlight korea's traditional cultural value through analytical research on the effects of tone, composition and directing techniques reflected in korean traditional music or musical elements. The uniqueness and Korean values provided by Gugak will serve as homogeneity in Asia and heterogeneity in Europe and the United States, presenting the possibility of New Hallyu content and contributing to the prolonged Korean Wave.
