Structure and Actual Cognition of Korean 'Sin-Pa' Play - Focusing on and (신파극의 구조와 현실 인식 - <사랑에 속고 돈에 울고>와 <장한몽>을 중심으로 -)

  • Korean 'Sin-Pa' play is a way to examine self-reliance of Korean culture and influence of Japanese culture on the Korean one in the early modern times. Although the 'Sin-Pa' play has been estimated negatively in many aspects, such an estimation can be different depending on the methodology. Therefore, I tried to explain a characteristics of the rise of 'Sin-Pa' play. While making these trials, I made efforts to reappreciate the developing process of Korean 'Sin-Pa' play and its theatrical structure and value. Particularly, I focused on structure of 'Sin-Pa' play in the context of an actual cognition of colonized Korea. Based on the 'Sin-Pa' play's repertoires I found out that one of the representative characteristics of Korean 'Sin-Pa' play is a changing process from orality to literacy. And I made attempts to uncover some ideological functions and their effects of 'Sin-Pa' play, focusing on and whose story line is usually consisted of 'provocation-pangs-defeat' while it interacted with 'provocation-pangs-penalty' of the structure of melodrama under the contemporary cultural conditions. 'Sin-Pa'' play can be considered as a performance mode to accept the Japanese value embedded in the colonized Korea since the 1910s on the one hand and to resist the overwhelming power of western culture imported through Japan on the other hand. In other words, it was closely related with the cultural-field of that period. Based on these results of this research, I tried to outline what the mode of 'Sin-Pa' was, what it reflected, and what it desired for under the influence of the contemporary cultural conditions. I analysed double qualities of 'Sin-Pa' play as a dominant narrative and/or a resistant narrative considering its relationship with the people of colonized Korea. And also I examined the place of the 'Sin-Pa' play in the history of theatre and in the history of culture.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Sasang constitution and body composition of the two groups devided by chest PA. Method : This study was carried out on 60 students of Semyung University. The students were selected according to the aspect ratio of rt. lung from chest PA. They were divided into two groups(length group and width group) and administered QSCCII & body composition analysis. Result : The 30 students of the length group were classified as Soumin(15), Soyangin(9), and Taeumin(6). The 30 students of the width group were classified as Taeumin(20), Soyangin(9), and Soumin(1). In the width group, weight, total body water, amount of total body fat, muscles, viceral fat area(VFA), waist hip ratio(WHR), were significantly higher than in the length group. Conclusion : There were significant relationships between the shape of lung and constitution and body composition. These findings indicate that actual organ condition could be expressed in body shape.

Anti-adipogenic effect of the flavonoids through the activation of AMPK in palmitate (PA)-treated HepG2 cells

  • Background: Flavonoids are natural polyphenols found widely in citrus fruit and peel that possess anti-adipogenic effects. On the other hand, the detailed mechanisms for the antiadipogenic effects of flavonoids are unclear. Objectives: The present study observed the anti-adipogenic effects of five major citrus flavonoids, including hesperidin (HES), narirutin (NAR), nobiletin (NOB), sinensetin (SIN), and tangeretin (TAN), on AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activation in palmitate (PA)-treated HepG2 cells. Methods: The intracellular lipid accumulation and triglyceride (TG) contents were quantified by Oil-red O staining and TG assay, respectively. The glucose uptake was assessed using 2-[N-(7-Nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)amino]-2-deoxy-d-glucose (2-NBDG) assay. The levels of AMPK, acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), and glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3β) phosphorylation, and levels of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2 (SREBP-2) and 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGCR) expression were analyzed by Western blot analysis. The potential interaction between the flavonoids and the γ-subunit of AMPK was investigated by molecular docking analysis. Results: The flavonoid treatment reduced both intracellular lipid accumulation and TG content in PA-treated HepG2 cells significantly. In addition, the flavonoids showed increased 2-NBDG uptake in an insulin-independent manner in PA-treated HepG2 cells. The flavonoids increased the AMPK, ACC, and GSK3β phosphorylation levels and decreased the SREBP-2 and HMGCR expression levels in PA-treated HepG2 cells. Molecular docking analysis showed that the flavonoids bind to the CBS domains in the regulatory γ-subunit of AMPK with high binding affinities and could serve as potential AMPK activators. Conclusion: The overall results suggest that the anti-adipogenic effect of flavonoids on PA-treated HepG2 cells results from the activation of AMPK by flavonoids.

Structural and Electrical Properties of a-axis ZnO:Al Thin Films Grown by RF Magnetron Sputtering

  • In this paper, we report electrical, optical and structural properties of Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films deposited at different substrate temperatures and pressures. The films were prepared by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering on glass substrates in argon (Ar) ambient. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the AZO films deposited at room temperature (RT) and 20 Pa were mostly oriented along a-axis with preferred orientation along (100) direction. There was an improvement in resistivity ($3.7{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}-cm$) transmittance (95%) at constant substrate temperature (RT) and working pressure (20 Pa) using the Hall-effect measurement system and UV-vis spectroscopy, respectively. Our results have promising applications in low-cost transparent electronics, such as the thin-film solar cells and thin-film transistors due to favourable deposition conditions. Furthermore our film deposition method offers a procedure for preparing highly oriented (100) AZO films.

  • Lately, In case of domestic fire situation, Suffocation due to inflammables has shown higher than direct disaster of the fire among the statistics of death caused by disaster. According to study, Lightweight Hybrid Panel as using the inner or outer wall is made with Polysilicon of the inorganic material, PA and vermiculite, so we make progress to performance experiment and review the density, thermal conductivity properties.

Cardiovascular Disease-related Health Beliefs and Lifestyle Issues Among Karen Refugees Resettled in the United States From the Thai-Myanmar (Burma) Border

  • Objectives: Refugees resettled in the US may be at risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, little is known about CVD-related issues among Karen refugees who have migrated to the US from the Thai-Myanmar border. The purpose of this study was to examine CVD-related health beliefs and lifestyle issues among Karen refugees resettled in the US. Methods: Karen refugees resettled in the US from the Thai-Myanmar border (n=195) participated in a survey study on health beliefs related to CVD, salt intake, physical activity (PA), and smoking in the fall of 2016. Results: A high-salt diet, physical inactivity, and smoking were major lifestyle problems. Participants who adhered to a low-salt diet considered themselves to be susceptible to CVD. Most participants did not engage in regular PA. Regular PA was associated with less perceived susceptibility to CVD and greater perceived benefits of a healthy lifestyle for decreasing the likelihood of CVD. Conclusions: Each refugee population may require individualized strategies to promote PA and a healthy diet. Future studies should develop health education programs that are specifically designed for Karen refugees and evaluate such programs. In addition to health education programs on healthy lifestyle choices, tobacco cessation programs seem to be necessary for Karen refugees. At the same time, it is important to foster strategies to increase the utilization of preventive care among this population by promoting free or reduced-fee resources in the community to further promote their health.

  • LCD panel 검사를 위한 Probe unit은 대형 TV 및 모바일용 스마트폰을 중심으로 각광을 받고 있는 소모성 부품으로 최근 pitch의 미세패턴화가 급속히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Slit Wafer 제작 공정을 최적화하기 위해 25 um pitch의 마스크를 설계, 제작하였다. 단공과 장공을 staggered 형태로 배열하여 25 um/25 um line/space pitch로 설계하였다. 또한 단위실험을 위해 직접 25 um pitch로 설계하여, 동일한 실험조건을 적용하여 최적 조건을 찾고자 하였다. 반응변수는 Etch rate 및 profile angle로 결정하였으며, 약 200~400 um 에칭된 slit의 상단과 하단의 폭, 그리고 식각깊이를 SEM 측정사진을 통해 정한 후 etch rate 및 profile angle을 결정하였다. 인자는 식각속도 및 wall의 각도를 결정하는 식각 및 passivation 가스의 유량, chamber 압력(etching/passivation), 식각시간 등으로 정하였으며, 이들의 최대값과 최소값 2 수준으로 실험계획을 설계하였다. 식각 조건에 따라 8회의 실험을 수행하였다. 가스의 유량은 SF6 400 sccm, C4F8 400 sccm, 식각 싸이클 시간은 5.2~10.4 sec, passivation 싸이클시간 4 sec로 하였으며, 압력은 식각시 7.5 Pa, passivation 시 10 Pa로 할 경우가 가장 sharp하게 나타났다. Coil power 와 platen power는 각각 2.6 KW, 0.14 KW로 하였으며, 최적화를 위한 인자의 값들은 이 범위에서 조절하였다. 이러한 인자의 조건 조절을 통해 etch rate는 5.6 um/min~6.4 um/min, $88.9{\sim}89.1^{\circ}$의 profile angle을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Since the use of CFC and HCFC refrigerants is to be restricted due to the depletion of ozone layer, this experiment applies the $NH_{3}$ gas to study the performance characteristics from the superheat control for improving the energy efficiency. The experiments are carried out for the condensing pressure of refrigeration system from 1500kPa to 1600kPa by 50kPa and for degree of superheat from $0^{circ}$ to $1^{circ}$ by $10^{circ}$ at each condensing pressure. As a result of experiment, 1) As degree of superheat increased, evaporating pressure of the compressor decreased so equilibrium temperature decreased. And specific volume of refrigerant vapors increased so refrigerant mass flow and heat load of the evaporator decreased. 2) An influence of change of condensing pressure on heat load of the evaporator was insignificant. 3) With the identical degree of superheat, change of compressed temperature was insignificant according to each condensing pressure, so there was little change in enthalpy.4) when the degree of superheat is $0^{circ}$C at each condensing pressure, the refrigeration system has the hi띤est performance.

  • Recently, many experiments using industrial by-products have been going on in Korea and abroad. Most of the studies on blast furnace slag and fly ash have been conducted, and the blast furnace slag based two and three component experiments have been conducted in many places. Therefore, this study is an additional study of research using polysilicon sludge and paper ash, which is a study using existing industrial by-products based on blast furnace slag, as strength properties of alkali activator according to kind and mixing ratio and to obtain basic data do.
