The pur[pose of this study is to investigate the research method and to provide a guide to the ways in which researcher, interested in costume history, can obtain in formation. There are comparison, induction, observation, awnalysis, experience and synthesis in method of science. Firstly, comparative research is to ascertain the accumulated evidence. Secondly, we can compare with historical phenomenon. A research intend to verify the hypothesis based upon the sources of information. It is an available method to investigate the costumes and adornments in the past. Whatever the approach, the researcher much discribe the facts objectively. Historical research has been approached in many warys in the field of costume. There are visual and documentary sources. Visual sources are paintings, sculptutre, frescoes, coins, potteries, medals, mosaics, wall paintings, stained glasses, seals, tapestries, illustrations, photographs, movies, and fashion dolls. Documentary sources are archives, letters, diaries, literature, wardrobe accounts, sumpturary laws, newspapers, and recollections.

For the remarkable enhancement of high-speed rail passenger services, a system which provides various multimedia contents and Internet search functions was designed. The system gets inputs from a passenger and displays various multimedia contents on the touch sensitive LCD panel attached on a passenger seat. This kind of service is new in Korea and not easy to find in other countries, either. In this paper, we presented a design of a system which provides not only one-way broadcasting services but also searching capability of various information interactively. Informations to be provided are train schedule, transfer information, tour information, E-books, movies, music, ets. Successful completion of the system development in the following years is expected to strengthen international competitiveness of Korean railway industry.

The infringement of the copyright is a problem by the distribution of digital contents copied illegally. The digital watermark is expected as a thing preventing unjust copying by burying information in digital data such as image, animation, the sound, TV, radio and movies. [1] [2]But a noise is included in a digital watermark reproduction image. So there is the case that the certification of the reproduction image has difficulty with. If a computer cannot recognize the information reproduced from digital watermarking, the information does not have a meaning. This paper aimed at improvement of the proof of a digital-watermarking reproduction image. And it is verified whether the difference of the form of a character affects the degree of correlation.

Interactive CATV system is under development to provide multimedia applications such as movies on demand, home shopping, etc. In addition to the conventional analog cable TV services. This system applies international standard DAVIC, ATM forum, DSM-CC etc. The system adopts modular architecture design approach so that the system can be adaptive to the fast moving technology wavefront. In this article, interactive CATV system and essential elements such as video server, delivery network and Set-Top-Box(STB) and related international standardization are introduced.

When studying the film industry, researchers have seldom addressed the dynamic interaction between marketing information and word of mouth in the motion picture industry mainly because of the limitation of traditional research methodologies. This study explores integration and competition among important variables influencing on audience's choice on movie selection, particularly by using a new method of agent-based modeling including competitive environment. Decision process of moviegoer composed of transition probability based on multinomial logit model, considering marketing and box-office information, critique, and word of mouth from other moviegoers. After validating the fitness of market share among released movies, this study conducted a set of simulation experiments considering several variables such as market size, change of weight between variables, and movie performance under competition. Propositions are derived from the simulation results is also suggested for future research.

This Paper describes the system configuration and implementation method of an IMPRES (Interactive Multimedia exPRESS) terminal. The terminal is developed in the form of a PC add-on board that is called MINIBA (Media and Network Interface Board Assembly). IMPRESS is a communication service platform that support various interactive multimedia services. The main objectives of developing IMPRESS are to implement DAVIC compliant services platform to verify DAVIC specification and to support testing environment. Currently IMPRESS terminal provides MPEG-2 quality movies on demand, switched video broadcasting, and home-shopping service to the service user, based on the ATM network.

Recently, 3D stereo movies, 3D TV broadcasting, and stereoscopic monitors become hot issue. Worldwide engagement in an intense competition for stereo viewing technology just begins. Photogrammetry is the originator of dealing obtaining stereo imagery, processing and display. Non-glasses stereo monitors will replace existing monitors in near future. This study introduces real 3D stereo viewing methods of geospatial data on the non-glasses stereoscopic monitors.

Old movies are often corrupted by randomly located blotches and scratches. In this paper were present an efficient method for detection and removal of these distortions. The presented method is composed of two separate steps: the detection process and the restoration process. In the detection process, blotch locations are detected through global motion segmentation, the sequential approach to motion segmentation, a robust model-fit criterion and so on, we form the algorithm for the algorithm for the global motion segmentation tuned to the blotch detection problem. In the restoration process, the missing data of the detected blotch areas are temporally extrapolated from the corresponding image areas at the preceding or the succeeding image frame with considering the global motion segmentation results. We apply the presented method to moving image sequences distorted by artificial blotches. The method works very well and provides a subjective improvement of picture quality.

After emerging online communications, text mining and sentiment analysis has been frequently applied into analyzing electronic word-of-mouth. This study aims to develop a domain-specific lexicon of sentiment analysis to predict box office success in Korea film market and validate the feasibility of the lexicon. Natural language processing, a machine learning algorithm, and a lexicon-based sentiment classification method are employed. To create a movie domain sentiment lexicon, 233,631 reviews of 147 movies with popularity ratings is collected by a XML crawling package in R program. We accomplished 81.69% accuracy in sentiment classification by the Korean sentiment dictionary including 706 negative words and 617 positive words. The result showed a stronger positive relationship with box office success and consumers' sentiment as well as a significant positive effect in the linear regression for the predicting model. In addition, it reveals emotion in the user-generated content can be a more accurate clue to predict business success.
