The purposes of this study were to classify internet shopping mall user by their shopping styles and to define the characteristics of the classified individual clusters. Questionnaires were completed by 338 men and women who have used internet shopping malls at lead once during the previous 6 months. The internet shopping styles were classified into 4 clusters after factor analysis and k-means cluster analysis. Cluster I, named 'high brand proneness', can be described as having low score on devotee tendency. Cluster II, named 'high value proneness', is characterized by a high score on seeking substance. Cluster III, called 'steadiness orientation', can be described as having a tow score on seeking trend and substance. Cluster IV, named 'individuality inclination', can be described as having low score on seeking trend. These four clusters differ in terms of socio-demographic and environmental characteristics such as gender, age, educational level, occupation, and internet using time. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between male consumers' clothing shopping orientation and sex role identity. Since shopping, especially clothing shopping has been traditionally considered a female job, it was expected that male consumers' sex role identity would influence how they approach the task of clothing shopping. Data were collected through an Internet survey firm from men aged between 20 and 40 years(N=199). The major results are as follows: 1. Based on the six clothing shopping orientation factors identified tv factor analysis, the respondents were categorized into 5 distinct groups: Self-Directed Shoppers, Planners, Brand-Oriented Shoppers, Convenience Shoppers, and Impulsive High-Involvers. 2. Five sex role factors were identified by factor analysis: two masculinity factors (strong and reticent) and three femininity factors(gentle, meticulous, and affable). Among these factors, 'gentle' was considered the most ideal, followed in order by 'strong,' 'meticdous,' 'affable,' and 'reticent.' 3. The results of MANOVA showed that the clothing shopping orientation groups statistically differed in their perceived sex role identity as well as in their ideal sex role identity. Overall, Self-Directed Shoppers and Impulsive High-Involvers scored higher in both perceived masculinity and femininity than the other groups. Convenience Shoppers and Planners were high in femininity but low in masculinity. The Brand-Oriented Shoppers were low in both masculinity and femininity. The results indicate that Korean males who are in their 20s and 30s consider androgyny as a desirable state. In addition, those who are high in androgyny are more likely to be highly involved in clothing shopping.
The purpose of this study was to examine factors affecting addictive buying behavior. Two hundred seventy-six female college students who have purchased fashion products through TV home shopping were surveyed. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlations, multiple regression were used. As the results, higher addictive buying scores were correlated to higher purchasing experience during childhood, family problem, parent's compulsive buying tendency, and friendship. Based on these results, fashion marketing strategies would be suggested. Multiple regression analysis revealed that parent's compulsive buying tendency and friendship were significantly to related to addictive buying. Based on these results, fashion marketing regarding television home shopping would be suggested.

First, competitive price, accurate product and service information and convenience were considered as important factors in the new purchase behavior among internet shoppers. Second, the more frequent purchasing time through the internet shopping mall were on weekdays rather than weeekends and the most preferred information search engine were category type, item type, and price type in order. The purpose of this study was to analyze consumers' perceived risk and information search behaviors in internet shopping. For this purpose, survey was conducted on 302 consumers in their 20s and 30s who had internet shopping experience. This study found that consumers' perceived risk was significantly related to their gender, educational level, income, credit card use, period of internet un, number of internet shopping experiences, and purchased product. Consumers' search behaviors were also significantly affected by gender, age, educational level, income, period of internet use, and purchased product. In addition, a higher level of consumers' perceived risk was significantly related to the amount of information search on product attributes themselves rather than on general information search such as the number of sites or the number of brands.
Apparel has been generally considered to be high involvement merchandise. But, there are many kinds of merchandises with various attributes within the apparel category. Among apparel merchandises, innerwears have been known to be relatively low-involved and convenience products. Lately, many brands with brand name, high quality, and fashionability were launched, and innerwear consumers became more sophisticated and individualized. Therefore, investigating the shopping orientations and behavious of innerwear consumers is needed. Consumers perceived the images and attributes of competing brands to be similar. So, those brands in competition need to establish differentiation strategy. Generally, the innerwear shopping orientation of consumers was passive and low-involved. But, they could be segmented into apathetic group, brand oriented/loyal group, and rational/economic purchaser group. These groups showed significant differences in demographic characteristics, store patronage, and information sources of innerwear. Therefore, there are consumer groups with various shopping orientations and purchasing behaviors in the innerwear market.
The purpose of this study was to compare shopping orientations and purchase criteria according to the occupational status; professionals, non-professionals, and homemakers among female consumers. Subjects were selected from mailing lists through a random sampling technique in the United States. Collection of the research data was made using an adaptation of the Total Design Method for implementing mail surveys. ANOVA, Regression, and Duncan Test were used to conduct the data analysis on 254 out of 1000 questionnaires. The three job status showed significant differences in 5 shopping orientations(sex role oriented, fashion conscious, credit oriented, catalog oriented, and value oriented). Even after controlling the effect of income and education level, significant differences were noticed in 4 shopping orientations, the exception being value conscious. Brand, price, and country of origin among the job status groups also showed significant differences in results for purchase criteria.

Shopping values perceived by elderly consumers consisted of two factors: Hedonic Shopping Value, and Utility Shopping Value. Elderly consumers perceived Hedonic Value by Salespersons' Service and Utility Value by Policy Service.
