한국산업의 계측투자실태분석 (An Analysis on the status of Measurement Investment in Korean Industry)

  • The purpose of this study, by surveying the status of firms, measurement-related investment and the defect rate, is to analyze the effect of measurement-related investment and to propose a scheme of efficient measurement-related investment which reduces the defect rate. For this project we obtain the data of the status of the measurement-related investment and the defect rate of 928 firms in Korean manufacturing industry by mailing survey. One of our results shows that the firms which have measurement standard laboratory, i.e, which invest in measurement-related area comparatively high, have the defect rate about 0.8% lower than those firms which don't have measurement standard laboratory. Also we find that the small-and-middle size firms have worse measurement-related facility than the large firms and the firms in the heavy-chemical industry have higher measurement-related investment effect than the firms in the light industry.

벤처확인유형을 중심으로 한 벤처기업의 성장 분석 (An Analysis of Venture Firms' Growth in Korea: Focusing on the Differences between 'Venture Certification Types')

  • 우리나라의 '벤처기업'은 법적 용어로서 벤처캐피털 투자기업('벤처투자기업')뿐만 아니라 연구개발기업과 정책자금 지원기업('기술평가 보증 대출 기업')들을 포괄한다는 특징을 지닌다. 본 논문은 벤처확인유형에 따른 우리나라 벤처기업의 성장에서의 차이를 분석하였다. 실증분석을 위해서 중소기업청의 1998~2010년 벤처확인기업 명단을 '한국기업데이터'(KED) 재무 데이터와 연계하여 사용하였다. 실증분석 결과, 벤처투자기업은 기업공개 확률이나 최초 벤처확인 이후 3년 및 5년이 경과한 시점에서의 매출 고용 성장률 모두에서 기술평가 보증 대출 기업에 비해 우수한 것으로 나타났으며, 2003년 이후 신규 인증된 연구개발기업 역시 기술평가 보증 대출 기업에 비해 우수한 성장성을 보이고 있다. 이 결과는 '벤처기업'이라는 단일한 명칭에도 불구하고 이들 기업군은 상이한 속성을 지닌 기업들로 구성되어 있으며, 기업 성장 면에서 정책적 선별이 시장에 의한 선별에 상응하는 효과를 도출하지 못하고 있다는 점을 시사하고 있다. 이를 감안할 때 벤처지원정책은 벤처확인유형별로 상이한 기업군의 지원수요를 적극적으로 고려할 필요가 있으며, 명목상의 벤처기업 수 증가보다는 벤처캐피털 시장의 활성화에 정책의 초점을 맞추는 것이 바람직하다.

  • Firms' utilization of internet is completely changing their business environment. Apparel firms' without exception are using internet as their essential marketing mechanism and as a new media for educating customers. Some apparel firms' at the same time acquire valuable customer information from internet users. These business cases become evident in developed countries. in contrast most domestic appstrl firms' are unable to see the strategic importance of internet.   • This study examines the relationships between R&D investment and Market value of Firms using data of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector of Korea. In particular, this paper investigates the role of technology innovation system in the impact of R&D investment on firm's Market value of Firms. Findings from the previous studies on the relationship between R&D investment and Market value of Firms are positive relationship. Main of the previous studies demonstrated a positive impact of R&D investment on Market value of Firms. On the other hand, some recent studies showed this is not the case. Those studies persisted that the technological innovation system for managing and efficiently utilizing R&D investment and capability has to be built in order for R&D investment to give rise to increases in Market value of Firms. According to the Oslo manual by OECD, it is assumed that a technology innovation system can becharacterized as three factors :capability for technological innovation, capability for technology commercialization, capability for technological innovation management. This study divides sample firms into two groups using the "Inno-Biz" certificate system of the Korean Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA): Inno-Biz firms Vs. Not Inno-Biz firms. The system selects innovative SMEs denoted as "Inno-Biz" using the above factors as criteria. The results revealed that the technology innovation system has the moderating effect to R&D investment on Market value of Firms.

시스템 다이내믹스를 이용한 우리나라 소기업의 정보화 파급효과 추정 및 지원 정책 방향 수립 (Estimating the Macroeconomic IT Investment Effect of Korean Small Firms with System Dynamics Simulation)

  • This study was motivated by a practical need for estimating the macroeconomic effect of government IT Promotion investment, specifically for micro and small firms. Small firms have been in a disadvantageous position to adopt and utilize new IT compared with medium or large-sized firms. Small firms don't have enough resource to acquire IT in general, therefore private IT companies don't have much incentive to develop IT services and products for small firms. Lack of feasible IT solutions for small firms again restricted active IT adoption of small firms. Government recognized the vicious cycle, therefore decided to promote private IT companies to develop IT services and products for small firms's. Our main concern was to identify a relevant government supporting Policy, especially in the amount and the period. To do this, we first constructed a system dynamics simulation model to Investigate important factors and causal relationships among them. Simulation results showed 2.19% of GDP contribution and 0.16% of employment contribution in max from small firms' IT adoption. Also we could find that investing proper amount for a short period would be for better than maintaining Investing small amount for a long period.

국내 섬유, 의류기업의 해외진출에 대한 현황분석 연구 (Current Situation Analysis of the International Marketing among Korean Apparel and Textile Firms)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the current situation of textiles and apparel firms in the overseas markets and to examine the relationship between firms' characteristic(i.e., sales volume) and international marketing strategies. A random sample of 311 textiles and apparel firms were selected. The survey design method was used to test conceptual framework. Adjusted response rate was 33.4%(n=115). Descriptive analysis (i.e., frequency, percent) and $\chi$$^2$-test were used for data analysis. About the current situation of textiles and apparel firms in the overseas markets, the motivation for international market entry was highly found to expand their operation from domestic to international market, and most firms were found to be involved with OEMs(Original Equipment Manufacturers) as an entry mode for international market. China and US market were the most popular market among Korean textiles and apparel firms. Product differentiation strategy, pricing strategy based on manufacturing cost and buyer's offering price, place strategy using foreign buyers and participating a few international exhibition were frequently used among Korean textiles and apparel firms for international marketing. Among textile firms, sales volume was related to product strategies(product development), price strategy(buyer's offer) and place strategy(channel). Among apparel firms, product strategy(product labeling), price strategy(price satisfaction). The findings of this can be used when Korean textiles and apparel firms do strategic planning and evaluate the international marketing strategies. Also information and results of this study may assist policy makers to develop better ideas and strategies for textiles and apparel industry.

국내 생명보험회사의 상대적 효율성 및 생산성 변화 (Relative Efficiency and Productivity Change of the Korean Life Insurance Firms)

  • 본 연구는 DEA 기법과 Malmquist Index를 이용하여 2003년 방카슈랑스 제도 도입 이후인 2004년부터 2007년까지의 생명보험 회사들의 효율성과 생산성 변화를 측정하는 것이다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, CCR 효율성은 기술효율성을 나타내는데, 2004년의 CCR 효율성 결과를 살펴보면 CCR 효율성이 1인 생명보험회사는 19개 생명보험 회사 가운데 6개 회사, 2005년은 5개 회사, 2006년에는 4개 회사, 2007년에는 7개 회사로 나타났다. 둘째, BCC 효율성은 순수기술효율성을 나타내는데, 2004년의 경우 BBC 효율성이 1인 생명보험회사는 19개 생명보험회사 가운데 8개 회사, 2005년도에는 9개 회사, 2006년도에는 10개 회사, 2007년에는 12개 회사로 나타났다. 셋째, 규모의 수익가변과 관련하여 DRS는 규모의 감소를 통해, IRS는 규모의 증가를 통해 효율성 개선이 가능하다. 2004년의 경우 DRS는 9개 회사, IRS는 2개 회사, 2005년도에는 DRS는 5개 회사, IRS는 5개 회사, 2006년에는 DRS는 5개 회사, IRS는 4개 회사, 2007년은 DRS는 5개 회사, IRS는 2개 회사로 나타났다. 넷째, Malmquist Index를 통한 생산성 변화를 살펴보면 2004년부터 2005년까지의 평균이 1.12로 1보다 크므로 생산성 향상이 이루어졌으나 2005년부터 2006년까지의 평균은 0.97로 1보다 작으므로 생산성 감소로 나타났다. 2006년부터 2007년까지의 평균은 1.05로 1보다 크므로 생산성 향상이 이루어졌음을 알 수 있다.

  • This study investigates the effects of the purpose of fishery firms' social contributions on consumers' purchase intention as a mediator or their fishery firms' brand evaluation. We surveyed 300 consumers in order to empirically test the suggested relationship. The purpose of fishery firms' social contributions was divided into social contribution activities and public interest marketing strategies. Fishery firms' brand evaluation was divided into three aspects including brand awareness, brand image, and brand loyalty. The results showed that the purpose of fishery firms' social contributions significantly affect consumers' purchase intention, brand loyalty as well as brand image except brand awareness. Fishery firms' brand evaluation significantly affect consumers' purchase intention. This study suggests that social contribution activities and public interest marketing strategies are essential for the positive brand evaluation of fishery firms.

Government Support Mechanisms and Open Innovation: An Empirical Look at Korean Manufacturing Firms

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine how a broad palette of government support measures and firms' membership in government-developed clusters are related to firms' openness in innovation processes. Design/methodology/approach - Empirically, this study analyzes the Korea Innovation Survey 2018 data on the innovation activities of 1,450 Korean R&D-active manufacturing firms in a three-year period from 2015 through 2017. Findings - The results suggest that firms engage in open innovation to a greater extent--as measured by the breadth of external collaborating partners and of the utilized external sources of knowledge--when they are provided with a broader palette of government support measures and are located in government-developed clusters. However, the effect of diverse government support measures is attenuated for firms located in these clusters. Research implications or Originality - This study contributes to the innovation literature by illuminating how firms' open innovation can be understood in a national innovation system. Moreover, it provides valuable implications for firms seeking to obtain government support and collaborate with others.

국내 벤처기업의 성장요인 분석 (Growth Factors for Small Innovative Firms in Korea)

  • 최근 대기업과 중소기업 간의 양극화가 심화되면서 중소기업의 경쟁력 강화가 중요한 경제 현안으로 대두하였다. 이와 관련하여 중소기업의 혁신을 주도해나가야 할 벤처기업에 대한 사회적 관심이 고조되고 있다. 또한 본격적인 벤처기업 지원정책이 시행된 지 10년 가까운 시간이 흐르면서 벤처생태계는 전략과제를 추론해볼 수 있을 만큼의 충분한 진화과정을 경험했다. 이러한 상황을 감안할 때 지금이 벤처생태계가 안고 있는 과제 및 벤처기업 지원정책의 바람직한 방향을 점검할 적절한 시점이라고 판단된다. 본 연구는 이러한 상황인식하에 향후 벤처기업 지원정책에 대한 정책적 시사점을 도출할 목적으로 벤처기업의 성장요인에 관한 실증분석을 하였다. 실증분석 결과 연구개발집약도가 높은 기업, 업력이 낮은 기업, 규모가 큰 기업, 정책자금 활용도가 높은 기업, 수도권에 위치한 기업의 경우 성장이 빠르게 나타난다. 벤처기업에 관한 국내 통계자료의 축적이 아직 미흡하고 통계자료의 신뢰도가 그리 높지 않기 때문에 본 연구는 분석의 한계를 지니고 있다. 향후 벤처기업정책 입안에 대한 연구의 기여도를 높이기 위해서는 통계자료의 체계적 축적이 필요하며, 보다 심도 있는 연구들이 뒤따라야 할 것이다.
