  • Objective: To compare the electromyographic activity of masseter and temporal muscles between bruxers and nonbruxers in adult and adolescent patients. Material and Methods: The samples composed of the surface electromyography (EMG) recordings obtained from the orthodontic patients. Sixty-eight patients who had bruxsim habit (43 female and 25 male) were divided into four groups according to their age and gender. Control groups consisted of 79 patients who had not bruxism habit. EMG of the masseter muscle and anterior temporal muscle were recorded before treatment in clenching at maximum intercuspation. The ratio of temporal and masseter muscle activity (T/M ratio) was compared between bruxers and nonbruxers in adult and adolescent patients. Results: EMG of masseter muscle and temporal muscle were significantly higher in adult male bruxism group than control. T/M ratio in adult male bruxism group was significantly lower than in adult male nonbruxism group. However, there was no significant difference in T/M ratio between adolescent bruxism group and adolescent nonbruxism group. Conclusions: The balance in the activity of the masseter and temporal muscles may not differ between bruxers and nonbruxers during adolescent periods. However, in adult period, the masseter muscle activity against temporal muscle is greater in males with bruxism habit compared to non-bruxer.

For this purpose, 563 Korean adult women aged between 20-59 were sampled to survey their practices of purchasing the brassieres and positively identify the factors affecting the practices and thereupon, determine the correlations among them by age group. Data is processed by a computer(SAS) and analyzed by using frequency, percentage, $\chi^2$-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test. The main results of this study are as follows; 1. The adult women tend to use such mass media as TV, magazines, catalogues and DM to decide for themselves which brassiere befits them most, and to check the brand-name(78.8%) or the sizes(93.4%), but more than 90% of them purchase their brassieres without trying on them. 2. • Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop course outcomes for nursing students by applying Hauenstein's theory. Methods: The research was conducted in three steps as follows: identifying exit outcomes related to the Adult Nursing course, developing Adult Nursing course outcomes based on the theory of Hauenstein, and finalizing Adult Nursing course outcomes. Results: Exit outcomes achievable in Adult Nursing were generated after a needs analysis survey among students, nurses and professors was conducted and subsequently reviewed by professors specializing in the subject. For theoretical courses, the level of the course outcomes was derived from the cognitive domain, whereas, for practical courses, it was derived, in stages, from the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Next, using taxonomical terms that can properly address the level of each domain, course outcomes for theoretical and practical courses were determined. After expert opinion was sought, the final course outcome for the Adult Nursing course was produced. Conclusion: The results are meaningful in that valid course outcomes were developed through the process described above and are expected to greatly contribute to reaching exit outcomes and strengthen the professional capacity of nursing students.
