  • Lately, knowledge-based society comes, it is important for enterprises to creatively utilize knowledge of technology for technological innovation. So, Technological innovation capacity of enterprises is important factor of business success. To improve technological innovation capacity, enterprises should well utilize their internal knowledges and external knowledges which come from technological diffusion. To well utilize external knowledges of enterprises they should well understand external knowledge flow. Especially knowledge flow also occurs frequently between nations, understanding of knowledge flow which occurs between nations is important to improve nation`s technological innovation capacity. So this paper presents comparison of technological innovation capacity and knowledge diffusion flow between nations.

  • Ubiquitous computing environment accelerates the advent of the IT Ecosystem. In the coming generation, a massive number of ubiquitous devices and services are converged into an ultra-large-scale system. In this context, high degrees of complexity and organization change the paradigm of knowledge and its management levels. The objective of this paper is to explore the Knowledge Management Systems in view of demands in ultra-large-scale systems. We introduce motivation for Next-Generation (NG) usage and their upcoming requirements. The possible applications will be discussed, and summary of different techniques are conducted. The tools and techniques that allow KMS to operate as "Vital Success Enabler" to achieve organizational benefits will be examined. Potential future directions for research are highlighted: these include advances in knowledge capture, storage / retrieval and sharing techniques, in particular with the surrounding role of information technology.

공기업의 지식관리 영향요인과 성과 간의 구조적 관계: 한국철도공사를 중심으로 (A Study on the Structural Relationships between the Antecedents of Knowledge Management and Performance in Public Enterprise: Focus on the KORAIL)

  • 본 연구에서는 공기업의 지식관리 영향요인, 지식관리 활동과 그 성과 간의 구조적 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 정부기관 중 지식관리를 최초로 도입한 기관이자 공공부문 지식관리의 선도기관으로 평가받고 있는 한국철도공사 직원들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 실증분석을 시도하였다. 가설검증 결과, 지식관리 영향요인으로는 학습지향문화와 지식품질, KMS 품질 등이 지식창출 및 공유 활동 모두에 유의미한 영향요인으로 검증되었으며, 개인태도는 지식창출 활동에만 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지식창출은 지식공유 활동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 지식창출과 지식공유 모두 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 지식창출 및 공유 활성화 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문은 정보검색을 위한 형태소분석기를 소개한다. 검색엔진의 속도향상을 지향한다면 형태소분석 알고리즘과 참조하는 사전의 구조를 어떻게 구성하는가에 따라 처리속도에 상당한 변화를 기대할 수 있으며, 본 논문에서는 알고리즘으로 최장일치법을 이용하고, 사전내부구조로 AVL+Trie 구조를 이용하여 사전참조의 속도향상을 기대하였다.

사회적 자본, 지식경영, 그리고 조직성과 간의 인과관계 (Social Capital, Knowledge Management, and Organizational Performance)

  • This study extends prior research of knowledge management by proposing how social capital can positively impact the ability of organizations to manage knowledge. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between social capital and knowledge management and how both help organizations achieve a sustained superior performance. To serve this purpose, I conducted an extensive survey on 143 Korean firms in diverse industries. Analyzing hypothesized relationships with the data collected, I empirically assure that organizations with high levels of social capital have more knowledge management capabilities than organizations with low levels of social capital and there exist statistically significant relationships between knowledge management and organizational performance.

The Personal Information Management Practices of the Graduates of the Department of Information Studies at Kuwait University

  • This study examined activities involving the finding, organizing, managing, and re-finding of information by knowledge workers in Kuwait. This research also conducted a review of the tools needed for effective personal information management (PIM) and assessed perceptions about improving PIM through Internet use. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted among 26 graduates of the Department of Information Studies at Kuwait University. These participants are currently employed in different sectors engaged in a variety of information-related activities. This study's findings indicated that participants gathered different types of information from a variety of sources. This information was stored using several devices and services, including desktop computers, shared drives, clouds, bookmarked websites, e-mail correspondence, and favorites lists. Participants organized information in personal folders according to categories such as subject/topic, time, project, document type, and geographical region. Preferred methods for information re-finding included searching by keyword and browsing through folders. Interviewees reported problems of information overload, fragmentation, and anxiety. Most were active in social media via mobile device, while some of them used Siri or Ask Google to retrieve information. Tools used for PIM included calendars, tasks, schedules, e-mail management tools, clouds, and social networking tools. Participants reported that the Internet helped with personal information management practices, but that some privacy issues arose in this context.

IT서비스 기업의 창의성 및 지식경영 요인이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (An Impact on Management Performance by IT Service Firm's Creativity and Knowledge Management Factor)

  • This paper discussed about creativity and knowledge management variables as for effect factors on the management performance of IT service firms. Specially the mediation effects of knowledge management variables between the creativity and management performance were examined. To prove empirically the related hypothesis, the statistical analysis were based on the response from the 160 Korean IT Service firms. As an analysis results, it was found that the creativity of organizations was not the direct effector on the management performance. But the virtue of knowledge which are accumulated from knowledge management activity and shared in organizations was the direct effector. Also, the knowledge management activity is mediator on the in the relationship between the creativity and management performance. So this paper suggests that knowledge management activity and knowledge's virtue in the related the creativity in organizations are the important mediate factors for enhancement of IT service firm's performance.

Factors Affecting Information Systems Modeling Ability

  • This study was initiated to investigate the essential skill factors for system designers in order to build the right information systems. The predicted variables are mathematical modeling skill, verbal modeling skill, general IT knowledge, and general business knowledge. The test was administrated to 43 students majoring in Management Information Systems (MIS) at Hannam University, South Korea. In this study, we used Pearson Correlation Analysis to test the relationships among variables. Overall, our study suggested that there is a strong positive relationship between mathematical and verbal skills and IS modeling ability. A marginal positive relationship between the general IT knowledge and IS modeling ability was also found. Unexpectedly, there was no significant relationship between general business knowledge and IS modeling ability.

지식경영 전략 및 구조적 자본이 조직성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Knowledge Management Strategy and Structural Capital on Organizational Performance)

  • This study examined the effects of knowledge management strategy and structural capital on organizational performance. Structured capital was classified into three dimensions: organizational culture, knowledge process, and information technology. Data were collected from 251 employees in a public institution. Results indicated that organizational knowledge-based strategy was positively related to employees' job satisfaction, and that information technology-based strategy was positively related to customers' satisfaction and institutional image. Results also indicated that organizational culture and knowledge process were positively related to customers' satisfaction, employees' job satisfaction, and institutional image, whereas informational technology was negatively related to customers' satisfaction and institutional image. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications of the results were discussed.
