  • We consider associative ring R (not necessarily commutative). In this paper the concepts: zero square ring of type-1/type-2, zero square ideal of type-1/type-2, zero square dimension of a ring R were introduced and obtained several important results. Finally, some relations between the zero square dimension of the direct sum of finite number of rings; and the sum of the zero square dimension of individual rings; were obtained. Necessary examples were provided.

  • Expert system is a practical application part of the artificial intelligence and can be generally described as a computer-based system designed to simulate the knowledge and reasoning of a human expert, and to make that knowledge conveniently available to other people in a useful way. Expert systems consist of three major components, knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. In this paper, it is aimed to construct a prototype system to design the horizontal-typed pressure vessel. To do this, a representative artificial programming language, Turbo Prolog, was employed, and the knowledge representation was mainly done by the production rule such as "If(condition), than (action)" style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition), then (action)"style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition). then(action)" style and the various table-like data. It was also effective to represent the graphics. Though this expert system is by now small and incomplete, it is possible to expand it to a larger and refined system later.rger and refined system later.

  • Teacher knowledge needed for teaching is bound to be revealed in teaching the subject matter in relation to the given instructional context. Given this, recent studies on mathematics teacher knowledge tend to analyze actual Mathematical Knowledge in Teaching [MKiT]. This study focused on the dimension of transformation and its related codes in Knowledge Quartet, which has been recognized as a MKiT framework, and analyzed a Korean teacher's transformation knowledge revealed in her elementary mathematics teaching. The analysis showed that the codes related to the dimension of transformation were useful in analyzing teacher knowledge in the Korean context. However, a few codes need to be revised or added for more suitability. On the basis of these results, this paper closes with implications for analyzing teacher knowledge in mathematics teaching.

  • Purpose The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of social capitals on organizational knowledge sharing characteristics and individual innovation activities in community of practice (CoP) of manufacturing company. Design/methodology/approach For this purpose, we divide social capitals as three dimensions, i.e. structural, relational, and cognitive dimension. Structural dimension also consists of closure and Brokerage. Relational social capital is defined as trust about colleagues, superior authorities, and organization. Then, cognitive social capital is defined as a shared understanding among individuals, such as a shared language and codes within CoP. Knowledge Sharing is defined as quantity and quality of shared knowledge. We also defines the cause and effect relationships among social capitals, organizational knowledge sharing characteristics, and individual innovation activities in CoP of manufacturing company as follows. The social capitals will have positive effects on quality of shared knowledge. Then the quality of shared knowledge will have positive effects on the individual innovation activities. This paper tested the validity of these hypothesized casual effects and the sub-hypothesized causal relationships. For the purpose, we used the Partial Least Squares (PLS) for analyzing the causal relationships. Findings Our empirical results show that social capitals of CoP mostly have effects on organizational knowledge sharing characteristics (quantity and quality of shared knowledge) and knowledge sharing activities also have effects on individual innovative activities in the workplace. In this study, these result have a significant implication that a private company will be able to gain organizational innovative performance much better by strengthening CoP supporting activities.

  • Nam(2008a) suggested that the role of teacher for helping students to learn mathematical structures should be the manifestor of tacit knowledge. But there have been lack of researches on embodying the manifestation of tacit knowledge. This study embodies the manifestation of tacit knowledge by showing that exemplification is one way of manifestation of tacit knowledge in terms of goal, contents, and method. First, the goal of the manifestation of tacit knowledge through exemplification is helping students to learn mathematical structures. Second, the manifestation of tacit knowledge through exemplification intends to teach students mathematical structures in the tacit dimension by perceiving invariance in the midst of change. Third, the manifestation of tacit knowledge through exemplification intends to teach students mathematical structures in the tacit dimension by constructing explicit knowledge creatively, reflection on constructive activity and social interaction. In conclusion, exemplification could be seen one way of embodying the manifestation of tacit knowledge in terms of goal, contents, and method.

  • This study analyzed the learning objectives in the 2007 revised 10th grade Home Economics textbooks of 6 different publishing companies and the achievement standards developed by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology(2009). Two experienced coders performed initial analysis based on the 'revision of Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives' and had subsequent conferences to reach an agreement on different results between coders. For knowledge dimension, the results show that the major types of learning objectives in the "Future Family Life" unit are mainly consisted of factual knowledge and procedural knowledge, where as those of "Family Life Culture" unit are consisted of factual knowledge and conceptual knowledge. The achievement standards in both "Future Family Life" and "Family Life Culture" units are solely in a factual knowledge major type. The sub-type of knowledge dimension of both learning objectives and achievement standards fall into 'a specific facts and knowledge component'. For cognitive process dimension, the results show that the leaning objectives are focused on 'understand' and 'analyze'. Those of achievement standards are 'analyse' in the "Future Family Life" unit and 'understand' in the "Family Life Culture" units. From the result of this study, we can conclude that both learning objectives and achievement standards do not adapt any meta-cognitive knowledge, higher order thinking, and cognitive process.

  • Many companies have tried, with mixed success, to leverage knowledge resources by knowledge sharing functions. Trust is one of the integral factors for fostering knowledge sharing. This paper categorizes trust on the basis of its multi-dimension and multi-level. In view of this category, it investigates the relationship between trust and knowledge sharing. A sample of 191 employees from 24 companies is used for an empirical exploration. Our analysis results imply that both organizational trust and trust among peers are crucial for effective knowledge sharing.

  • The purpose of this research was to classify service dimensions for each apparel product which was thought to be important to consumers and to examine what kind of service dimensions are assessed to be more important than others. Furthermore, whether there were significant differences in the service dimensions and importances of services dimensions were examined by apparel product type(casual, formal products). Data were collected from women who were over 20 years old that live in Seoul. A questionnaire developed based on the previous researches and data were analyzed by factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, frequency analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, services of salesperson were divided into six dimensions: \"focused on customers\", \"knowledge/competency\", \"courtesy\", \"appearance/image\", \"purchasing induction\", and \"concerning\". As to service dimension importance, consumers think that \"service focused on customers\" is the most important dimension of service. Second, results of examining the importance according to apparel product type showed that five of the six service dimensions in formal product sales were more important except for the \"knowledge\" related service. Last, as to demographic characteristic variables, people who were over 40 years old were likely to think \"purchasing induction\", \"appearance/image\", \"concerning\" service dimensions more important than the other ages. And it was found that consumers who spend less money on purchasing clothing in a month thought \"focused on customers\" service was more important than the other consumers. In conclusion store managers could apply these results to service education of salesperson and use on preservation and improvement of customer relationship. And according to apparel product types, the results will give some implications to various service policies.

  • Existing CAD systems do not provide advanced functions for automatic checking design and drafting errors in mechanical drawings. If the knowledge of checking in mechanical ddrsfting can be implemented into computers, CAD systems could automatically check for design and drafting errors. This paper describes a method for systematic checking of dimension errors. such as deficiency and/or redundancy of dimension input-errors in dimension figures and symbols, etc. The logic for finding dimensional errors is written by using a proccedural language. A geometric model and a topological-graph model are used in this method. Checking for deficiency and redundancy of dimensions is based upon graph Theory.
