  • Database integration is a common and growing challenge with the proliferation of database systems, data warehouses, data marts, and other OLAP systems in organizations. Although there are many methods of sharing data between databases, true interoperability of database integration system that improves in the database federation architecture by allowing domain administrators to simply and efficiently capture database semantics. The semantic information is combined using a tool for producing a global view. Building the global view is the bottleneck in integration because there are few tools that support its construction, and these tools often require sophisticated knowledge and experience to operate properly. The technique and tool presented is simple and powerful enough to be used by all database administrators, yet expressive enough to support the majority of integration queries.

  • Semiconductor manufacturing industry is a high density integration industry because it generates a vest number of data that takes about 300~400 processes that is supervised by numerous production parameters. It is asked of engineers to understand the correlation between different stages of the manufacturing process which is crucial in reducing production costs. With complex manufacturing processes, and defect processing time being the main cause. In the past, it was possible to grasp the corelation among manufacturing process stages through the engineer's domain knowledge. However, It is impossible to understand the corelation among manufacturing processes nowadays due to high density integration in current semiconductor manufacturing. in this paper we propose a canonical correlation analysis (CCA) using both wafer test voltage variables and fail bit counts variables. using the method we suggested, we can increase the semiconductor yield which is the result of the package test.

  • Semantic heterogeneity should be overcome to support automated information sharing process between information systems in ontology-based distributed environments. To do so, traditional approaches have been based on explicit mapping between ontologies from human experts of the domain. However, the manual tasks are very expensive, so that it is difficult to obtain ontology mappings between all possible pairs of information systems. Thereby, in this paper, we propose a system to make the existing mapping information sharable and exchangeable. It means that the proposed system can collect the existing mapping information and aggregate them. Consequently, we can estimate the ontology mappings in an indirect manner. In particular, this paper focuses on query propagation on the distributed networks. Once we have the indirect mapping between systems, the queries can be efficiently transformed to automatically exchange knowledge between heterogeneous information systems.

  • Board games have many game characters and many state spaces. Therefore, games must be long learning. This paper used reinforcement learning algorithm. But, there is weakness with reinforcement learning. At the beginning of learning, reinforcement learning has the drawback of slow learning speed. Therefore, we tried to improve the learning speed by using the heuristic using the knowledge of the problem domain considering the game tree when there is the same best value during learning. In order to compare the existing character the improved one. I produced a board game. So I compete with one-sided attacking character. Improved character attacked the opponent's one considering the game tree. As a result of experiment, improved character's capability was improved on learning speed.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare dietary culture consciousness of rural and urban housewives through a nationwide survey. Interviewers interviewed 500 housewives(250 in rural and 250 in urban) using closed-ended questions. The dietary culture consciousness was divided into two parts of traditional aspect (dietary habit and ritual diet) and desirable aspect (food choice and nutrition knowledge). Each domain consisted of six items. Results of the study are summarized as fellows : 1) As a whole, dietary culture consciousness of rural housewives was more traditional than that of urban housewives in traditional aspect, and there was no difference of consciousness between rural and urban housewives in desirable aspect. 2) There was significant difference at 1% level between two groups in traditional aspect and there was no difference in desirable aspect. 3) By the analysis of each item, there was significant difference between two groups in 14 items. Especially, the item of westernized breakfast pattern was more acceptable in urban housewives than in rural. 4) In relationship between socio-demographic characteristics of housewives and dietary consciousness of them, age, educational level and religion of housewife were significant in traditional aspect, and so were educational level and job experience of housewives in desirable aspect. Dietary consciousness of rural housewives' was influenced by job experience (in traditional aspect) and age of housewives and level of living (in desirable aspect) In the case of urban housewives, level of living was significant in traditional aspect.

  • This paper designs and implements a sentence generation for an augmentive and alternative communication system(AAC). The AAC system is assistive communication device to help the mute language disorder communicate more freely and the system have an objected to reduce time and keystrokes for sentence generating. The paper of sentence generation make up for merits and demerits in the existing sentence generation method and in order to sentence generation. One aspect of Korean language that confines nouns defending on the verbs or postpositional words is used for sentence generation. The distinctive feature of this paper is to connect verbs to nouns using domain knowledge. We utilize the lexical information that exploits characteristics of Korean language for sentence generation. A comparison with other approaches is also presented. This sentence generation is based on lexical information by extracting characteristics of sentences.

  • In the Wyner-Ziv coding, compression performance highly depends on the quality of the side information since better quality of side information brings less channel noise and less parity bit. However, as decoder generates side information without any knowledge of the current Wyner-Ziv frame, it doesn't have optimal criterion to decide which block is more advantageous to generate better side information. Hence, in general, fixed block size motion estimation (ME) is performed in generating side information. By the fixed block size ME, the best coding performance cannot be attained since some blocks are better to be motion estimated in different block sizes. Therefore if there is a way to find appropriate ME block of each block, the quality of the side information might be improved. In this paper, we investigate the effects of variable block sizes of ME in generating side information.

  • E-sports has grown steadily in recent years and has become a popular sport in the world. In this paper, we propose a win-loss prediction model of League of Legends at the start of the game. In League of Legends, the combination of a champion statistics of the team that is made through each player's selection affects the win-loss of the game. The proposed model is a deep learning model based on Bidirectional LSTM embedding which considers a combination of champion statistics for each team without any domain knowledge. Compared with other prediction models, the highest prediction accuracy of 58.07% was evaluated in the proposed model considering a combination of champion statistics for each team.

  • Problem solving in real life is a core competency commonly adopted in several subjects recently. The real-world problems were rarely resolved with only one domain of knowledge. Thus, convergence education is becoming a trend in many countries. As on-line education is revitalized because of COVID-19, the need for changes to STEAM education is emerging. In December 2019, the on-line education systems quickly settled in schools because of COVID-19. During the first semester of 2020, most school education was conducted as virtual/distance learning classes. It is necessary to analyze how much technology has been used in the STEAM classes in Korea. This paper analyzes the research papers related to the STEAM education in Korea conducted in the last 10 years. By doing this, we analyze what kind of edutechs we were interested in, what kind of STEAM education actually occurred, and to whom it was conducted. The previous research papers analyzed in this paper are the papers in the Korea Citation Index accredited journals and candidate journals. Finally, this paper proposes educational changing factors to be considered for future technology-based STEAM education.

  • The purpose of this paper is to build a pronunciation lexicon with estimated likelihoods of the phonetic rules based on the phonetic realizations and therefore to improve the performance of CSR using the dictionary. In the baseline system, the phonetic rules and their application probabilities are defined with the knowledge of Korean phonology and experimental tuning. The advantage of this approach is to implement the phonetic rules easily and to get stable results on general domains. However, a possible drawback of this method is that it is hard to reflect characteristics of the phonetic realizations on a specific domain. In order to make the system reflect phonetic realizations, the likelihood of phonetic rules is reestimated based on the statistics of the realized phonemes using a forced-alignment method. In our experiment, we generates new lexica which include pronunciation variants created by reestimated phonetic rules and its performance is tested with 12 Gaussian mixture HMMs and back-off bigrams. The proposed method reduced the WER by 0.42%.
