속성지향추론법과 시뮬레이션을 이용한 지식기반형 Job Shop 스케쥴러의 개발 (Development of a Knowledge-Based Job Shop Scheduler Applying the Attribute-Oriented Induction Method and Simulation)

  • The objective of this study is to develop a knowledge-based scheduler applying simulation and knowledge base. This study utilizes a machine induction to build knowledge base which enables knowledge acquisition without domain expert. In this study, the best job dispatching rule for each order is selected according to the specifications of the order information. And these results are built to the fact base and knowledge base using the attribute-oriented induction method and simulation. When a new order enters in the developed system, the scheduler retrieves the knowledge base in order to find a matching record. If there is a matching record, the scheduling will be carried out by using the job dispatching rule saved in the knowledge base. Otherwise the best rule will be added to the knowledge base as a new record after scheduling to all the rules. When all these above steps finished the system will furnish a learning function.

  • Building a knowledge base effectively has been an important research area in the expert systems field. A variety of approaches have been studied including rules, semantic networks, and frames to represent the knowledge base for expert systems. As the size and complexity of the knowledge base get larger and more complicated, the integration of knowledge based with database technology cecomes more important to process the large amount of data. However, relational database management systems show many limitations in handing the complicated human knowledge due to its simple two dimensional table structure. In this paper, we propose Object-Oriented Knowledge Store (OOKS), a knowledge base model on the basis of a frame sturcture using an object-oriented database. In the proposed model, managing rules for inferencing and facts about objects in one uniform structure, knowledge and data can be tightly coupled and the performance of reasoning can be improved. For building a knowledge base, a knowledge script file representing rules and facts is used and the script file is transferred into a frame structure in database systems. Specifically, designing a frame structure in the database model as it is, it can facilitate management and utilization of knowledge in expert systems. To test the appropriateness of the proposed knowledge base model, a prototype system has been developed using a commercial ODBMS called ObjectStore and C++ programming language.

  • Objective of the research is to put the vast and complex fault tracking knowledge of human experts in semiconductor production line into the knowledge base of computer system. We mined the fault tracking knowledge of domain experts(engineers of production line) for the construction of knowledge base of the expert system. Object oriented fact models which increase the extensibility and reusability have been built. The rules are designed to perform the fault diagnosis of the items in production device. We have exploited the evidence accumulation method to assign check priority in rules. The major contribution is in the overall design and implementation of the nile base and related facts of the expert system in object oriented paradigm for the application of the system in fault diagnosis in semiconductor production line.

  • The task for chromosome analysis and diagnosis by experienced cytogenetists are being concerned as repetitive, time consuming job and expensive. FOr that reason, chromosome analysis system based on knowledge base for CAI had been established to be able to analyze chromosomes and obtain necessary advises from the knowledge base instead of human experts. That s to say, knowledge base by IF THEN production rule was implemented to a knowledge domain with normal and abnormal chromosomes, and then the inference results by knowledge base could enter the inference data into the database. Experimental data were composed of normal chromosome of 2,736 patients'cases and abnormal chromosomes of 259 patients'cases that have been obtained from GTG-banding metaphase peripheral blood and amniotic fluid samples. The complete system provides variously morphological information by analysis of normal or abnormal chromosomes and it also has the advantage of being able to consult with user on chromosome analysis and diagnosis.

  • Verification is a process aimed at demonstrating whether a system meets it's specified requirements. As expert systems are used in various applications, the knowledge base verification of systems fakes an important position. The conventional Petri net approach that has been studied recently in order to verify the knowledge base is found that it is inadequate to verify the knowledge base of large and complex system, such as alarm processing system of nuclear power plant. Thus, we propose an improved method that models the knowledge base as enhanced colored Petri net. In this study. we analyze the reachability and the error characteristics of the knowledge base and apply the method to verification of simple knowledge base.

  • Grinding is considered as a very effective machining technology to attain high production rates and a good surface quality of hard and brittle components. However, the grinding operations till needs the skill and the experience of an operator because of a lack of scientific knowledge and engineering principles. This is the reason why grinding operations are not completley intergrated in CIMS(Computer Intergrated Manufacturing System. Recent develop- ment focus on expert system which deals with domain specific knowledge in order to solve this problem. Firstly, in this study, a basic strategy to develop the grinding knowledge-base for grinding is discussed. Next, the architecture of knowledge-base and management of the grinding knowledge-base(GKB) is described.

  • An expert system executes the inference, based on the knowledge of specific domain. the reliability on the results of inference depends upon both the consistency and accuracy of knowledge. This is the reason why expert system requires the facilities which can practice an access to the various kinds of knowledge and maintain the consistency and accuracy of knowledge an maintain the consistency and accuracy of knowledge. This paper is to implement an expert system permitting an access of declarative and procedural knowledge in the knowledge base and in the data base. This paper is also to implement a knowledge acquisition system which adds the knowledge a only if its accuracy and consistency are maintained, after verifying the potential errors such as contradiction, redundancy, circulation, non-reachable rule and non-lined rule. In consequence, the expert system realizes a good access to the various sorts of knowledge and increases the reliability on the results of inference. The knowledge acquisition system contributes tro strengthening man-machine interface that enables users to add the knowledge easily to the knowledge base.

Electrical Fire Cause Diagnosis System based on Fuzzy Inference

  • This paper aims at the development of an knowledge base for an electrical fire cause diagnosis system using the entity relation database. The relation database which provides a very simple but powerful way of representing data is widely used. The system focused on database construction and cause diagnosis can diagnose the causes of electrical fires easily and efficiently. In order to store and access to the information concerned with electrical fires, the key index items which identify electrical fires uniquely are derived out. The knowledge base consists of a case base which contains information from the past fires and a rule base with rules from expertise. To implement the knowledge base, Access 2000, one of DB development tools under windows environment and Visual Basic 6.0 are used as a DB building tool. For the reasoning technique, a mixed reasoning approach of a case based inference and a rule based inference has been adopted. Knowledge-based reasoning could present the cause of a newly occurred fire to be diagnosed by searching the knowledge base for reasonable matching. The knowledge-based database has not only searching functions with multiple attributes by using the collected various information(such as fire evidence, structure, and weather of a fire scene), but also more improved diagnosis functions which can be easily wed for the electrical fire cause diagnosis system.

  • LMT 는 10 가지 풍경요소 그림을 이용하여 내담자의 심리 상태를 분석하는 그림 검사기법이다. 본 논문에서는 LMT 그림 분석에 필요한 지식 베이스를 구축한다. 이를 기반으로 그림 검사 후 내담자에게 제공되는 평가 보고서를 생성하는 LMT 그림 진단지원 시스템을 제안하고, 구현한다. 이 시스템은 각종 문헌 및 연구 결과를 기반으로 진단 결과를 생성하기 때문에 진단 결과의 객관성을 제고한다. 또한, 향후 LMT 그림분석에 대한 지식을 지식 베이스에 축적할 수 있어 지속적으로 확장이 가능하다. 본 시스템은 웹 기반으로 서비스할 수 있도록 구현되었으며, 실제 사례를 이용하여 지원 시스템의 효과성을 보였다.

  • Intelligent Tutoring System(ITS)이 다양한 학습자 변인을 고려한 개별화된 학습 환경을 제공하여 영역 전문가를 대신할 효율적인 대안으로 인식되어짐에 따라, Learning Companion System(LCS)에 대한 연구도 긍정적으로 검토되어지고 있다. 하지만 LCS에서의 원활한 상호작용을 위해서는 동일한 역할을 하는 복수 LC의 결합이 필요하고, 이는 개별적 지식베이스의 확보를 선행 조건으로 요구한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인지구조의 연결주의적 관점을 근거로, 지식베이스 자체의 자기 학습(self learning)이 가능하고, 지식베이스 객체의 소유자에 의해 적응적으로 성장 가능한 지식베이스 객체 모형을 설계하고, 이를 검증하였다. 이 지식베이스 객체 모형은 개별적 지식베이스의 구축을 가능하게 하여, 지식베이스 객체를 이용한 적응적 ITS 개발의 기회를 제공한다.
