The initial reaction of hexachlorodisilane ($Si_2Cl_6$, HCDS) on amorphous silica ($SiO_2$) surface for atomic layer deposition was investigated using density functional theory. Two representative reaction sites on the amorphous $SiO_2$ surface for HCDS reaction, a surface hydroxyl and a two-membered ring, were considered. The reaction energy barrier for HCDS on both sites was higher than its adsorption energy, indicating that it would desorb from the surface rather than react with the surface. At high temperature range, some HCDSs can have kinetic energy high enough to overcome the reaction energy barrier. The HCDS reaction on top of the reacted HCDS was investigated to confirm its self-limiting characteristics.

Objective: Epidemiological research shows that 47 to 73% of athletes suffer from recurrent ankle sprains. Joint mobilization techniques (JMT) implemented in correcting may be beneficial in the management of ankle injuries. The purpose of this study is to examine the immediate JM on ankle complex as clinical measures in individuals with chronic ankle instability (CAI) through intervention. Method: Thirteen subjects with CAI (8 males and 5 females) participated in this study. Each subject tried total four alignments (Navicular drop test: NDT, Standing rearfoot angle: SRA, Tibia torsion: TT, and dorsiflexion range of motion: DFROM). The participants were performed the 10 meter shuttle run after JMT for post-task. Finally, it was tried to compare between pre-post tasks after shuttle run. Results: SRA and DFROM after intervention showed significant differences. SRA (p=.026), and DFROM (p=.034). Conclusion: We concluded that the JMT has resulted in improvement in SRA, DFROM. Increased DFROM and varus shapes of foot would be closed kinetic chain, indicating that reduce the risk factors of ankle sprain. Future study needs to be conducted in order to measure the effects of prolonged intervention of JMT.
Phytases are hydrolytic enzymes that catalyze the sequential hydrolysis of phytic acid (myo-inositol-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexakisphosphate) to myo-inositols with lower numbers of phosphate groups. Two types of phytases have been identified which initiate hydrolysis of the phytic acid at either the 3- or 6- position of the inositol ring. In the present investigation, a mathematical model was proposed and computed to estimate maximum enzyme reaction rate constants which fit the experimental data obtained by other authors. Although the data points were scattered to some extent, good agreement was found between the model and the experiment data. It appears that the maximum rate constants of removal of the first, second, and third phosphate groups were not equal. Also there was neither a steady trend upward or downward in the rate constants with the stepwise hydrolysis reactions.
Diethanolamine dithiocarbamate is known to react with dichlorobis(ethylenediamine)cohalt(Ⅲ) chloride to form [Co(dtc)3](dtc=diethanolamine dithiocarbamate) in which two sulfur atoms of the dithiocarbamate are bound to cobalt. The complex is moderately soluble in acetone, but sparingly soluble in carbon disulfide. Kinetics and mechanisms of the reaction of dichlorobis(ethylenediamine)cobalt(Ⅲ) chloride with diethanolamine dithiocarbamate have been studied in aqueous solution. Activation parameters have been calculated from the kinetic data for the reaction and from these results a possible mechanism for the reaction has been proposed.
The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the effects of exercise science of shoes for Aged' health promotion. Kinematic and kinetic data were collected using cinematography and the Zebris system (Zebris Emed Sensor Platform, GR-DVL9800) to analyze pressure of foot and ground reaction force. Subjects recruited were 20 healthy elderly men. They walked at 1.36m/sec velocity wearing type A (domestic), type B (foreign) and walking shoes (A company). One-way ANOVA was used to analyze statistics. The results were as following: no significant differences were observed in gait variables among the three groups (p<0.05). There was a significant difference in max pronation angle of heels examined among the three groups (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in kinetic variables (ground reaction force and max pressure) among the three groups (p<0.05). A physiology study was performed to analyze the effects of walking with shoes with silver added to them on percent body fat, resting metabolic rate and energy expenditure. Sixty adults males were recruited from the public health center. They were divided into four groups. C: control group (n=20), EY: elderly Y group (n=20), and EO: elderly O group (n=20). The results of this study were as follows: percent body fat was decreased following each exercise period, however, not all the groups showed a significant difference. The change of resting metabolic rate was significantly increased in HI (high intensity) and LI (low intensity) periods in the C and EY groups. However, there was no significant difference in the EO group. The mean energy expenditure during and after exercise were significantly lowered in all periods compared to the control group.
The esterase gene Est8 from the thermophilic bacterium Bacillus sp. K91 was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The monomeric enzyme exhibited a theoretical molecular mass of 24.5 kDa and an optimal activity around $50^{\circ}C$ at pH 9.0. A model of Est8 was constructed using a hypothetical YxiM precursor structure (2O14_A) from Bacillus subtilis as template. The structure showed an ${\alpha}/{\beta}$-hydrolase fold and indicated the presence of a typical catalytic triad consisting of Ser-11, Asp-182, and His-185, which were investigated by site-directed replacements coupled with kinetic characterization. Asp-182 and His-185 residues were more critical than the Ser-11 residue in the catalytic activity of Est8. A comparison of the amino acid sequence showed that Est8 could be grouped into the GDSL family and further classified as an SGNH hydrolase. Est8 is a new member of the SGNH hydrolase subfamily and may employ a different catalytic mechanism.
The purpose of current study was to investigate the effects of the heights on the lower extremities, torso and neck segments for energy dissipation during single-leg drop landing from different heights. Twenty eight young healthy male subjects(age: $23.21{\pm}1.66yr$, height: $176.03{\pm}4.22cm$, weight: $68.93{\pm}5.36kg$) were participated in this study. The subjects performed the single-leg drop landing from the various height(30, 45 & 60 cm). Force plates and motion-capture system were used to capture ground reaction force and kinematics data, respectively. The results were as follows. First, the ROM at the ankle, knee, hip and trunk was increased with the increased heights but the ROM at the neck was increased in the 60cm. Second, the angular velocity, moment and eccentric work at the ankle, knee, hip, trunk, and neck was increased with the increased heights. Third, the contribution to total work at the knee joint was not significantly different, while the ankle joint rate was decreased and hip and neck rate was increased in the 60cm, and trunk rate was increased with the increased heights. Lastly, the increase in landing height was able to augment the level of energy dissipation not only at the lower extremities but also at the trunk and neck. The findings showed that drop landing affect trunk and neck with lower extremity joints. Therefore, we need to consider that trunk and neck strengthening including stability should be added to reduce sports injury during prevention training.

A kind of zirconium phosphate mesoporous coordination polymer Zr-EDTMPA was successfully synthesized and characterized using XRD, FTIR, TGA, EA, SEM-EDS, and N2 sorption-desorption measurements. The prepared Zr-EDTMPA was first employed for the removal of Co(II) from an aqueous solution, and the effects of pH, contact time, temperature, initial Co(II) concentration, reusability, and sorption mechanism were systematically investigated. The results showed that the Zr-EDTMPA is a zirconium phosphate complex formed by the coordination of EDTMPA to Zr in a molar ratio of 1:1. The sorption of Co(II) by Zr-EDTMPA was a pH-dependent, spontaneous and endothermic process, which was better fitted to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model. The Zr-EDTMPA was demonstrated to have excellent reusability and presented a high sorption capacity of 73.0 mg·g-1 for Co(II) at pH 8.0. The sorption mechanism was mainly attributed to the strong coordination between cobalt and the untapped hydroxyl functional groups on Zr-EDTMPA, which was confirmed by XPS spectra. Therefore, as a candidate sorbent with high sorption capacity and excellent reusability, Zr-EDTMPA has a great potential for the removal of Co(II) from aqueous solutions.

This research examined the difference in cognitive load and the virtual presence depending on auditory feedback and task difficulty in haptic-based dental simulation. In the field of dental education, practice-centered training using handpiece has been crucial because a practitioner's psychomotor experience has a significant impact on the mastery of treatment skills. For the novice, it is necessary to reduce errors in dental treatment to enhancing skill acquisition in the haptic practice. In the training process, the force-feedback is crucial to elaborate subtle movement to guide what to do and how it should be hard or soft. However, It is not easy to add force-feedback to generate kinetic experience training. As an alternative method, we examined that auditory feedback can help learners' skill training. In this study, we analyzed how the presence/absence of auditory feedback at the different levels of task difficulty impacts learners' psychological demand and virtual presence in the virtual reality simulation. For this study, 29 dental college students participated in a dental simulation. The participants were grouped into two conditions that are with and without auditory feedback. Additionally, two consecutive tooth preparation tasks with different levels of difficulty were used in the simulation. The auditory feedback condition gives alarms to a learner when he treats a non-targeted tooth with a virtual handpiece. The user's cognitive load and virtual presence were measured to examine the effects of auditory feedback. The results revealed that the main effect was found in cognitive loads. Also, a significant interaction effect was shown in the virtual presence. We discussed the effective design methods for the virtual reality-based dental simulation through the result of this study.
The reaction rates of 4-X-2,6-dinitrochlorobenzenes (X = $NO_2,\;CN,\;CF_3$) with Y-substituted pyridines (Y = 3-$OCH_3,\;H,\;3-CH_3,\;4-CH_3$) in methanol-acetonitrile mixtures were measured by conductometry at 25 ${^{\circ}C}$. It was observed that the rate constant increased in the order of X = 4-$NO_2\;>\;4-CN\;>\;4-CF_3$ and the rate constant also increased in the order of Y = 4-$CH_3\;>\;3-CH_3\;>\;H\;>\;3-OCH_3$. When the solvent composition was varied, the rate constant increased in order of MeCN > 50% MeOH > MeOH. The electrophilic catalysis by methanol may be ascribed to the formation of hydrogen bonds between alcoholic hydrogen and nitrogen of pyridines in ground state. Based on the transition parameters, ${\rho}_S,\;{\rho}_N,\;{\beta}_Y,\;{\rho}_{XY}$ and solvent effects, the reaction seems to proceed via $S_N$Ar-Ad.E mechanism. We also estimated the isokinetic solvent mixtures (${\rho}_{XY}$ = 0) based on cross-interaction constants, where the substituent effects of the substrate and nucleophile are compensated.
