GPS has been increasingly exploited to provide positioning and navigation solutions for a variety of applications. In vessel berthing application, however, there are stringent requirements in terms of positioning accuracy, availability and integrity that cannot be satisfied by GPS alone. This is because the performance of satellite-based positioning and navigation systems are heavily dependent on both the number and the geometric distribution of satellite tracked by receivers. Due to the limited number of GPS satellites, a sufficient number of ‘visible’ satellites cannot be sometimes guaranteed. This paper discusses some issues associated with the implementation of ground-based pseudolite augmentation for vessel berthing. Pseudolite means small transmitter that transmits GPS-like signals in local area. Actually, pseudolite can play three different roles in GPS augmentation scheme, depending on the operational conditions. Firstly, in the case of kinematic GPS operation where there are no signal blockages, and more than five satellites are available, additional pseudolites strengthen the GPS satellite-pseudolite geometry, and more accurate and reliable positioning solution can be achieved. Secondly, in the case when there are adverse GPS operational environments in which the number of tracked satellites is less than four, pseudolites can complement the GPS signals. In the third case, GPS signals are completely unavailable, such as when operated indoor. In such cases the pseudolites can replace the satellite constellation. However, the first role will be considered in this paper, since more than four satellite signals can usually be tracked in most marine applications. This paper presents that the pseudolite-augmented precise positioning system can provides continuous centimeter-level positioning accuracy through comparison analysis of RDOP simulation result of the GPS satellite constellation and the pseudolite-augmented GPS satellite constellation.

Such social structures as bridges,, buildings, dams and towers have been transformed by their own load or fundamental ground. They have been behaved by other external causes. These regular or irregular behaviors threaten to do their users safety. Therefore, to monitor the load of the structures or reaction shown by them could help to verify their behaviors. RTK GPS allows the use of a static base station and remote rover unit to allow f3r data collection within several seconds and in real time. It is useful for monitoring the behaviors of massive structures like bridges. In this Study, Among GPS methods, we used RTK GPS to analyze the precision of monitoring and then on the basis of it, we developed a monitoring system using RTK GPS when measured the behavior of main tower of a suspension bridge by using RTK GPS. Comparing a deviation between observation values, X axis was Imm, Y axis was 1mm and Z axis 2.2mm. It turned out that it was possible to monitor and measure structures by RTK GPS.
Measuring the depth of water is very important in ensuring the protection and safety of seaside. There are many difficulties in making the contour bathymetric map, and contour line due to the limitation of continuous measurement of water depth and collimation with the conventional measuring and positioning methods. But the real-time kinematic GPS (RTK GPS) positioning using a carrier phase enables us to decide a precise position without breaking a signal even under the condition of a moving environment. It is also possible to obtain an accurate depth of water in real time with a fathometer through the measuring of time delay between sending and receiving epochs. This research aims at investigation of accuracy potential of RTK GPS in combination with Echo Sounder(E/S) for the coastal mapping. Apart from this purpose, the accuracy of ambiguity resolution with the OTF(On the Fly) method was tested with respect to the initialization time. The result shows that the accuracy is better than 1cm with 5-minute initialization in the distance of 10km baseline. The seaside topography was measured by the RTK GPS only, on the other hand the seafloor topography was surveyed in combination of RTK GPS and E/S. Comparing to the volume of seaside measured by RTK GPS and digital topographical map, the difference of only 2 % was achieved. This indicates that the coastal mapping with RTK GPS is successfully conducted. In addition it is also demonstrated that the 3-dimensional perspective model resulted from the undersea topography measured by RTK GPS and E/S is very close to that from the digital map. Through this study, it was verified that RTK GPS is to be very useful method in the analysis of coastal morphology owing to its capability of getting the precise DTM for the using of harbor reclamation, dredging, and the estimation of soil movement in a river.

The rover acquires its own position information using satellites signals provided by several satellites(at least four or more). For the present, GNSS systems are widely used in various fields. However, there are many factors that cause accuracy errors in positioning between rovers and GNSS satellites. Due to satellite time error, orbit error, ionospheric & convective refraction, multipath, etc., rover can't acquire precise position. Differential GPS(DGPS) and Real-Time Kinematic(RTK) have been developed as compensation techniques to reduce such errors. In this paper, we intend to develop a terminal with RTK technique to acquire precise position information of mobile station.
In order to meet the users' demand, who needs faster and more accurate data in geographic information, it is necessary to obtain and process the data more effectively. Now more effective data obtainments about geographic information is possible through the development of integration technology, which is applied to the field of geographic information, as well as through the development of hardware and software engineering. With the fast and precise correction and update, the development of integrate technology can bring the reduction of the time and money. To obtain fast and precise geographic information using Aerial Photogrammetry method, it is necessary to develop Airborne GPS/INS integration system, which makes GCP to the minimum. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a system which could unite and process both GPS and INS data. For this matter, code-processing module for DGPS and OTF initializaion module, which can decide integer ambiguity even in motion, have been developed. And also, continuous kinematic carrier-processing module has been developed to calculate the location at the moment of filming. In addition, this study suggests a possibility of using a module, which can unite GPS and INS, using Kalman filtering, and also shows the INS navigation theory.

In this study, we utilized various type of GPS observation measurements to get a camera projection center of the aerial triangulation and consequently to determine which type is acceptable. For the accuracy and the error analysis, comparison between a projection center from the conventional model adjustment and the result determined by the kinematic DGPS positioning which is fitted to the conventional model adjustment using 3D conformal transformation method has been made. The camera projection center is located within a $\pm{2m}$ for C/A code range measurements, $\pm{14cm}$ for L1 phase measurements and $\pm{10cm}$ for L1/L2 phase measurements with $1\sigma$. In this way, the accuracy of the camera projection center by the bundle block adjustment can be predicted.

A ship-to-ship (STS) lightering operation takes place in order to transfer cargo (e.g. crude oil or petroleum products) between an ocean-going ship and a service ship alongside it. Instrumental measurements to accurately determine the relative speeds and distances during the approach between the vessels would benefit the operational safety and efficiency. A velocity information GPS (VI-GPS) system, which uses the instantaneous velocity measures from carrier-phase Doppler measurement, has been applied in a field observation onboard a service ship (Aframax tanker) approaching a ship-to-be-lightered (VLCC) in open waters. This article proposes to apply VI-GPS as the input sensor to a guidance and decision-support system aiming to provide accurate velocity information to the officer in charge of an STS operation. A method for precise velocity measurement using VI-GPS was described and the measurement results were compared each other with the results of Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) and VI-GPS that showed the concept of a guidance and decision-support system applying VI-GPS with the field test results during STS operations. Also, it turned out that VI-GPS has sufficient accuracy to serve as an input sensor from the field test results.

South Korea is currently promoting cadastral computerization to modernize the field. Problems of cadastral mismatches are mostly resolved through cadastral mismatch organization projects. Three-dimensional cadastral drafting Is also on its way to wide adoption. In order to safeguard the property ownership rights of people and deliver accurate cadastral information quickly by constructing a three-dimensional cadastral information system, this study intends to provide solutions to survey real-time kinematic GPS (RTK-GPS) in mobile environments and to produce three-dimensional cadastral maps real-time using digital plane tables.
Multi-Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) can significantly improve the positioning accuracy and convergence speed. The reliability and availability of multi-GNSS precise point positioning (PPP) is steadily increasing with the rapid development of GNSS satellites. In this study, multi-GNSS PPP analysis is performed to compare the positioning precision by processing the observations from different GNSS systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou). To improve the positioning performance of the multi-GNSS PPP, we employed the weighed measurement noise (WMN) method. After applying WMN method to multi-GNSS PPP, positioning precision is improved by approximately 26.3% compared to the GPS only solutions, and by approximately 9.1% compared to combined GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo PPP.
