The purpose of this study is to identify the clinical effects of Jujadanggui-hwan in the treatment of dysmenorrhea with cold hypersensitivity. Jujadanggui-hwan mentioned in Dongeuibogam has an effect on leucorrhea and cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet, lower abdomen and lumbus. Jujadanggui-hwan were prescribed to 24 dysmenorrhea patients with cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet or with leucorrhea three times a day for 13 weeks. After the treatment, numerical index for the pain was obviously reduced 'tot' point 2.12. It means that pain index as the patient can't do everyday occurrences reduce to 3 grad enough to do ordinary experience. So this study shows that Jujadanggui-hwan has remarkable effects on dysmenorrhea with cold hypersensitivity.

Urinary disturbance is deficit in volitional control of voiding. Stroke can cause temporary or permanent urinary disturbance. The purpose of this study was to confirm the effect of Jasin-hwan on urinary disturbance as heat syndrome. This study was carried out on 3 patients with urinary disturbance caused by stroke. We measured components of IPSS (international prostate symptom score) at pre-treatment and post-treatment. After prescribing medication to the patients, symptoms improved rapidly within three weeks. These results support that Jasin-hwan is effective in reduction of urinary disturbance as heat syndrome.

Objectives: This study reported a clinical case of a chronic diarrhea patient who showed improvement with Korean medicine treatment. Methods: A patient with chronic diarrhea was treated with herbal medicine (Omae-hwan and Omae-hwan-ryo), acupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion. Changes in stool form were measured using the Bristol Stool Scale (BSS). The frequency of defecation was checked every day. The Short Form 36-Item (SF-36) was used to compare patients' quality of life before and after treatment. Results: Korean medicine treatment improved the stool form, frequency of defecation, and quality of life. Conclusion: Korean medicine treatment containing Omae-hwan and Omae-hwan-ryo improves clinical symptoms and quality of life.
