  • Security models for key exchange protocols have been researched for years, however, lots of them only focus on what secret can be compromised but they do not differentiate the timing of secrets compromise, such as the extended Canetti-Krawczyk (eCK) model. In this paper, we propose a new security model for key exchange protocols which can not only consider what keys can be compromised as well as when they are compromised. The proposed security model is important to the security proof of the key exchange protocols with forward secrecy (either weak forward secrecy (wFS) or strong forward secrecy (sFS)). In addition, a new kind of key compromise impersonation (KCI) attacks which is called strong key compromise impersonation (sKCI) attack is proposed. Finally, we provide a new one-round key exchange protocol called mOT+ based on mOT protocol. The security of the mOT+ is given in the new model. It can provide the properties of sKCI-resilience and sFS and it is secure even if the ephemeral key reveal query is considered.

  • According to the wide-spread of information transmission system over network, the use of cryptographic system to provide the integrity of transmitted message over network is increasing and the importance of that is emphasized. Because the security of the cryptographic system totally relies on the key, key management is a essential part of cryptographic system. A number of key agreement protocols have been proposed to far, but their rigorous security analysis is still open. In this paper, we analyze the features of Diffie-Hellman based standard key agreement protocols and provide the security analysis of those protocols against several kinds of active attacks.

  • In this paper, we investigate the possible security threats to downloadable conditional access system (DCAS) host devices. We then propose a DCAS secure micro (SM) and transport processor (TP) security protocol that counters identified security threats using a secure key establishment and pairing management scheme. The proposed protocol not only resists disclosed SM ID and TP ID threats and indirect connection between TA and TP threats, but also meets some desirable security attributes such as known key secrecy, perfect forward secrecy, key compromised impersonation, unknown key-share, and key control.

  • In this paper, we propose a new authenticated key exchange protocol in which client and sever can mutually authenticate and establish a session key over an insecure channel using only a human memorable password. The proposed protocol is based on Diffie-Hellman scheme and has many of desirable security attributes: It resists off-line dictionary attacks mounted by either Passive or active adversaries over network, allowing low-entropy Passwords to be used safely. It also offers perfect forward secrecy, which protects past sessions when passwords are compromised. In particular, the advantage of our scheme is that it is secure against an impersonation attack, even if a server's password file is exposed to an adversary. The proposed scheme here shows that it has better performance when compared to the previous notable password-based key exchange methods.
