This study embody the investigation of the winner projects of Young Architecture Program(YAP) taken place annually at front yard of MoMA PS1 since 1998. Every installation of project is experimental exhibition that have ambiguous border in the area between lightness and architecture. Thus the design have less limits as architectural space and talents can express the innovative idea strong. This paper aims to probe annual significant key words by analyzing the contemporary representative space types, materials, fabrication methods and innovative ideas, and to identify the changes of important concept of lightness and recent trend in architect design concept.

Man-Byeong-Hoi-Chun(萬病回春) is the principal book of Gong Tingxian who was a physician in the time of Ming(明) dynasty. It has been widely used in Korea and Japan. We recently analyzed the case reports in the book and found that he made some prescriptions by day and night separately. The method was based on the Jo-Seok-Bo-Beop(朝夕補法) by 薛己. We thought that it was an important key to his ideas in medicine. So we reviewed the origin and the basic principles of Jo-Seok-Bo-Beop and considered the clinical usages.

As media technology has made rapid progress, cultures in the world have spread fast. In addition, Korea wave spreading toward the world is taking shape as a brand that represents essential Koreanness. Such tendency has led attempts to seek Koreanness in the field of space design. The desire to escape from the absence of humanity that is based on mechanistic nature view has led a variety of ideas and concepts on space. In particular, concept of phenomenological space centering on human body has been emphasized. Merleau-Ponty found concept of phenomenological space that emphasizes awareness through experience of human body. In this thesis, orientation as situation, temporality as body, depth as consciousness, and correlational orientation which are key concepts of Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology were covered. Such concepts were used in analyzing the characteristics of Buseoksa Temple to present essential Koreanness.

During last ten years, logistics network management has become one of the most important sources of competitive advantage regarding logistics cost and customer service in numerous business segments. The key to success in this dynamic and severe business environment is the ability to design and plan the logistics network optimally in an integrated way. Network design and planning involves many issues relating to strategic, tactical, and operational decisions. To assist a logistics designer or planner, many computer-based decision support systems (DSS) have been developed. In this paper, the issues related to design, development, and implementation of the DSS for logistics network design and planning are discussed, and an ideal framework of the DSS is proposed with some ideas on the future development. Finally, DLNET, the DSS developed by author, is briefly introduced.

This paper presents an algorithm to separate vowels from consonants in Korean characters captured in noisy images and to recognize them. The algorithm has been originally developed for the recognition of the usage code (which is represented by a single Korean character) in the license plates or Korean vehicles. It, however, could be easily adopted to other applications with minor changes, in which character recognition is needed and the environment is noisy. The key ideas or the algorithm are to localize the vowels utilizing the Hough transformation and to separate the vowels from consonants utilizing mathematical morphology. We observed that the presented algorithm effectively separates vowels even if the vowels and consonants are joined together after thresholding. We also observed that our algorithm outperforms some conventional algorithms especially when the input images are noisy. The details of the comparison study are presented in the paper.

With the rapid development of urban suburbanization, a plenty of commercial operation of suburban environmental resource, the environment in suburb is more and more deteriorated. It also leads some passive effect on ecology, human, society and nature etc. At the same time, a serial of emergency rescue action has been implemented to decrease the deteriorating of suburban environment. For example, some important ecology nature reserves were built up; some compulsive protections have been put in practice for some key resource development region and gotten some good achievements. However, we still face the problem is that how to balance the contradiction between suburban environment resource development and conservation. It's necessary to introduce some western advantage management ideas, combined our actual situation, to find a way which is the most benefited to combine our country's suburb environment development and use.

In computer graphics, most animations of characters have been created using the traditional and often highly labor intensive key-framing technique. Recently, character animation is demanded increasingly automated techniques for animation according to interaction with the user or environment of the user. In this paper, we will propose a new method which can animate characters automatical/y with user interactions. The character's behavior is determined as a result of understanding the emotional condition of the user. Psychology and cognitive AI provide some ideas about how to approach this problem. Our study is based mostly on the theories of Ortony, Clore and Collins, which were designed to be implemented computationally. In our system, we can make 22 emotion types and some more behavior features and we apply to some characters.

In clinical practice, CT Angiography is a powerful technique for the visualziation of blood flow in arterial vessels throughout the body. However CT Angiography images of blood vessels anywhere in the body may be fuzzy if the patient moves during the exam. In this paper, we propose a novel technique for removing global motion artifacts in the 3D space. The proposed methods are based on the two key ideas as follows. First, the method involves the extraction of a set of feature points by using a 3D edge detection technique based on image gradient of the mask volume where enhanced vessels cannot be expected to appear, Second, the corresponding set of feature points in the contrast volume are determined by correlation-based registration. The proposed method has been successfully applied to pre- and post-contrast CTA brain dataset. Since the registration for motion correction estimates correlation between feature points extracted from skull area in mask and contrast volume, it offers an accelerated technique to accurately visualize blood vessels of the brain.

The purpose of this essay is to reexamine the overlooked politico-philosophical paradoxes of early American democracy. From its beginning, the American Republic was predicated on the conceived notion of political autonomy and independence from the British Empire. Those who fought for the cause, as expressed in the Declaration of Independence, invented and internalized so-called self-evident propositions which served as the key ideological foundation of the American Republic. Moreover, the unique historical ontology of American democracy was coupled with the politico-philosophical necessity of collective fantastical belief in the equation of selfhood with nationhood. By delving into how particular philosophical ideas and political concepts helped shape the visionary imagination of framers and their contemporaries, I investigate the way in which philosophy and politics are constitutive of the ideological fabric of the substantial-both conceptual and practical-paradoxes of the early American democracy.

This study attempts to understand the relationship between accounting information systems AIS and firms' performance; in the first part of the study, a brief introduction that focuses on the technological advancements and the impact of such advancements on the business world, and in the second part, a review of literature that considered different perspectives on the relationship between AIS and firms' performance. The key differences between manual and automated systems were shown in a table later in the literature review, followed by explanations for each comparison aspect. In the third part, four questions are asked regarding the AIS implementation; the questions covered the top management commitment, the users' competencies, the quality of the adopted system, and the impact of the degree of technological investment on the implementation process. Data for the study was acquired from a Saudi SME. The study's purpose is to investigate the impact of AIS on organizational performance in Saudi SMEs. The presented ideas of this study, where the main finding of the study is that AIS implementation has a positive impact on firms' performance.
