On-line Vector Quantizer Design Using Stochastic Relaxation (Stochastic Relaxation 방법을 이용한 온라인 벡터 양자화기 설계)

  • This paper proposes new design algorithms based on stochastic relaxation (SR) for an on-line vector quantizer (VQ) design. These proposed SR methods solve the local entrapment problems of the conventional Kohonen learning algorithm (KLA). These SR methods cover two different types depending upon the use of simulated annealing (SA) : the one that uses SA is called the OLVQ SA and the other the OLVQ SR. These methods arc combined with the KLA and therefore preserve the its convergence properties. Experimental results for Gauss Markov sources, real speech and image demonstrate that the proposed algorithms can consistently provide better codebooks than the KLA.

Improvement of Gas Dissolution Rate using Air Atomizing Nozzle (이류체 노즐을 이용한 가스의 용존율 향상)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the possibility of utilizing various types of nozzles and gas-liquid mixers to increase the dissolution rate of plasma gas containing ozone generated in a dielectric barrier plasma reactor. After selecting the air atomizing nozzle with the highest gas dissolution rate among the 13 types of test equipment, we investigated the influence of the operating factors on the air atomizing nozzle to determine the optimal plasma gas dissolution method. The gas dissolution rate was measured by a simple and indirect method, specifically, the measurement of KLa instead of direct measurement of ozone concentration, which requires a longer analysis time. The results showed that the KLa value of the simple mix of air and water was $0.372min^{-1}$, Which is 1.44 times higher than that ($0.258min^{-1}$) of gas emitted from a normal diffuser. Among the nozzles of the same type, the KLa value was highest for the nozzle having the smallest orifice diameter. Among the 13 types of devices tested, the nozzle with highest KLa value was the M22M nozzle, which is a gas-liquid spray nozzle. The relationship between water circulation flow rate and KLa value in the experimental range was linear. The air supply flow rate and KLa value showed a parabolic-type correlation, while the optimum air supply flow rate for the water circulation flow rate of 1.8 L / min is 1.38 times.

  • With increasing demands for security evaluation of side-channel resistance for crypto algorithm implementations, many equipments are developed at various research institutes. Indeed, commercial products came out for the purpose of evaluation and certification tool of security products. However, various types of security products exclusive a smart card make it difficult to implement a security evaluation system for them. In this paper, we describe implementation and characteristic of the side-channel evaluation boards of the KLA-SCARF, which is the project to develop domestic side-channel evaluation system. This report would be helpful for following researchers who intend to develop side-channel evaluation boards for other security devices.

A study on the KLA behaviors in HAZ and the mechanical properties of austenitic stainless steel weld (스테인레스강용접 열영향부의 KLA거동 및 기계적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Integranular corrosion behaviors of KAL (Knife Line Attack) and mechanical properties such as tensile and creep rupture were investigated for the tube material used for nearly 20 years under the condition of 463.deg. C and 28 $kg/cm^2$. Based and weld metal were austenitic stainless steel AISI 321 containing Ti, AISI 347 containing Nb, respectively. KLA is a kind of the intergranular corrosion which often occurs just near the HAZ (heat affected zone) of AISI 321 and AISI 347 stainless steel due to the grain boundary sensitization. In KLA zone, intergranular corrosion crack has propagated outwards from the inner surface and carbides of white and narrow band type assuming as (Cr, Fe) carbide were confirmed. All the delta-ferrite formed in the weld metal during weld solidification has been transformed into sigma-phase since delta-ferrte was exposed for 20 years at 463.deg. C. Elongation was very low at the range from room temperature to 600.deg. C and it was confirmed that creep-rupture properties were not consideralbly affected.

  • Klebsiella pneumoniae has emerged as a leading pathogen that causes pyogenic liver abscesses (PLAs) in Korea. K. pneumoniae liver abscess (KLA) is potentially life threatening, and the diagnosis is difficult. In developed countries, PLA is rarely observed in children and is frequently associated with disorders of granulocyte function and previous abdominal infection. We observed a case of KLA in a healthy 12-year-old boy. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of KLA in an immunocompetent child without an underlying disease in Korea. The patient was treated with percutaneous catheter drainage and antibiotics. The catheter was placed in the intrahepatic abscess for 3 weeks and parenteral antibiotics (ceftriaxone and amikacin) were administered for 4 weeks, followed by oral antibiotics (cefixime) for 2 weeks. We reported this case to raise awareness of KLA in immunocompetent children among physicians, and to review the diagnosis, risk factors, potential complications, and appropriate treatment of KLA.

  • 항공레저 스포츠의 급속적인 활성화 추세에 따라 국내 최초로 스포츠급 경항공기 KLA-100이 개발중이다. 본 개발 과제를 통해 경항공기 분야의 독자 개발과 인증에 필요한 기술을 확보하고 국내 경항공기 개발의 토대를 마련하기 위하여 그동안 축적된 항공기 개발 기술을 최대한 활용하여 해외 경항공기 개발 전문회사의 기술지원을 통해 항공기 개발 완성을 그 목표로 노력하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 상세설계가 완료된 경항공기의 형상해석 수행 결과를 소개하였다.

The Effect of Noise Injection into Inputs in the Kohonen Learning (Kohonen 학습의 입력에 잡음 주입의 효과)

  • This paper proposes the strategy of noise injection into inputs in the Kohonen learning algorithm (KKA) to improve the local convergence problem of the KLA. Noise strengths are high in the begin of the learning and gradually lowered as the teaming proceeds. This strategy is a kind of stochastic relaxation (SR) method which is broadly used in the general optimization problems. It is convenient to implement and improves the convergence properties of the KLA with moderately increased computing time compared to the KLA. Experimental results for Gauss-Markov sources and real speech demonstrate that the proposed method can consistently provide better codebooks than the KLA.

  • 백터 양자화기 설계는 다차원의 목적함수를 최소화하는 학습 알고리즘을 필요로 한다. 일반화된 Lloyd 방법(GLA)은 벡터 양자화기 설계를 위해 오늘날 가장 널리 사용되는 알고리즘이다. GLA 는 일괄처리(batch) 방식으로 코드북을 생성하며 목적함수를 단조 감소시키는 강하법(descent algorithm)의 일종이다. 한편 Kohonen 학습법(KLA)은 학습벡터가 입력되는 동안 코드북이 갱신되는 온라인 벡터 양자화기 설계 알고리즘 이다. KLA는 원래 신경망 학습을 위해 Kohonen에 의해 제안되었다. KLA 역시 GLA와 마찬가지로 강하법의 일종이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 이들 두 알고리즘은, 비록 사용하기 편리하고 안정적으로 동작을 하지만, 극소(local minimum) 점으로 수렴하는 문제를 안고 있다. 우리는 이 문제와 관련하여 simulated annealing(SA) 방법의 응용을 논하고자 한다. SA는 현재까지 극소에 빠지지 않고 최소(global minimum)로 수렴하면서, 해의 수렴이 (통계적으로) 보장되는 유일한 방법이라 할 수 있다. 우리는 먼저 GLA에 SA를 응용한 그 동안의 연구를 개괄한다. 다음으로 온라인 방식의 벡터 양자화가 설계에 SA 방법을 응용함으로써 SA 방법에 기초한 새로운 온라인 학습 알고리즘을 제안한다. 우리는 이 알고리즘을 OLVQ-SA 알고리즘이라 부르기로 한다. 가우스-마코프 소스와 음성데이터에 대한 벡터양자화 실험 결과 제안된 방법이 KLA 보다 일관되게 우수한 코드북을 생성함을 보인다.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a New Quaternary Chalcoantimonide: KLa2Sb3S9 and KSm2Sb3Se8

  • Silver-needle shaped crystals of $KLa_2Sb_3S_9$ from $K_2S_x$ flux and $KSm_2Sb_3Se_8$ from NaCl/KCl flux reactions were obtained and their crystal structures were determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. $KLa_2Sb_3S_9$ crystallizes in the orthorhombic noncentrosymmetric space group $P2_12_12_1$ (No.19) with a unit cell of a = 4.220(3) ${\AA}$, b = 24.145(2) ${\AA}$, c = 14.757(5) ${\AA}$ and Z = 4. $KSm_2Sb_3Se_8$ crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma (No.62) with a unit cell of a = 16.719(3) ${\AA}$, b = 4.1236(8) ${\AA}$, c = 22.151(4) ${\AA}$ and Z = 4. Both structures have three-dimensional tunnel frameworks filled with $K^+$ ions. $KSm_2Sb_3Se_8$ is an ordered version of $ALn_{1{\pm}X}B_i{4{\pm}X}S_8$, and it is made up of NaCl-type and $Gd_2S_3$-type fragments. $KLa_2Sb_3S_9$ also contains building fragments similar to those of $KSm_2Sb_3Se_8$, however, there are chalcogen-chalcogen bonds in the $Gd_2S_3$-type fragment. The formula of $KLa_2Sb_3S_9$ can be described as $(K^+ )(La^{3+})_2(Sb^{3+})^3(S^{2-})_7(S_2^{2-})$.
