Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) is the national information center that has collected, analyzed and managed Science and Technology information resources comprehensively since 1962. KISTI has conducted several researches and made "KISTI Information Resources Development Policy" in order to select overseas S&T core journals. This paper aims to develop overseas S&T core journals that have not distributed in the country as the part of this effort. This paper analyses the documents requested to KISTI and delivered from overseas information centers for the last 6 years. This paper selects overseas S&T core journals based on the domestic request through conducting journal usage analysis, citation analysis, and cost effectiveness analysis.

The purpose of this study is to describe the information environment of ST information users in Korea by examining their needs and satisfaction for documents. Comparison was made between the statistics of KISTI DDS and NACSIS-ILL document copy service, and data from the survey conducted for KISTI's ST information users in 2001 were analyzed. Findings include the low demand for documents delivery, low success rate in obtaining documents from domestic institutions, including KISTI, relatively high reliance on foreign DDS institutions, and difficulties in getting documents with speed, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. It seems urgent to implement the strategic plans for more comprehensive and well-organized collection development and resource-sharing, and improvement of DDS.

KISTI(한국과학기술정보연구원)는 학회업무 관리, 학술정보 관리를 학회가 어려움 없이 처리하도록 지원하고자, 학회 정보화 사업의 일환으로 학회 학술 정보 유통 체제 전 과정을 온라인화 하고 쉽게 관리할 수 있도록 한 $\ulcorner$KISTI -ACOMS(KISTI-Article Contribution Management System: KISTI-웹기반 논문투고관리시스템)$\lrcorner$을 개발하여 2001년부터 학회에 무상으로 보급하여 왔다. 또한 2003년부터 최근 3년간 학회 편집위원회와 같은 임원회의를 통해 추가 요구기능을 수렴, 분석하고 재설계하여 2005년 9월에 KISTI-ACOMS 버전 2.0을 출시하여 최근 과학기술분야 학회를 대상으로 무상보급을 지원하고 있다. 웹기반 논문투고관리시스템을 도입하여 국내 학회 정보화의 고도화를 지향하고자 하는 시기의 흐름에 맞추어 한국축산식품학회 또는 KISTI-ACOMS 버전 2.0을 도입하였으며, KISTI는 한국축산식품학회의 제반환경과 심사 프로세스를 분석, 적용하여 시스템에 반영하였다. 본 연구는 KISTI - ACOMS 버전 2.0을 기반으로 구축한 한국축산식품학회의 웹기반 논문투고관리 시스템 기능에 대해 살펴보고, 향후 시스템에 필요한 기능 및 명세를 기술함으로써 한국축산식품학회의 개선된 웹기반 논문투고관리시스템을 제시한다.

The purpose of this study Is to analyze and describe the characteristics of the information needs and information seeking behavior of ST information users of the KISTI. Questionnaires were distributed to the ST information users in the academic, industrial, and scientific sectors via mail. The role of the KISTI as the specialized information source and intermediary for other institutional information sources as well as individual users and the need for improving the strategies for customer-based services and collection development were evaluated. Major findings include the need for a more comprehensive effort to collect, preserve, and communicate the ST information resources. the need for much broader collection of journals and conference proceedings to provide the documents "on demand" for users, and the need to improve DDS in general.

The paradigm of convergence R&D is shifting from the convergence of technologies to the convergence of solutions to solve the complex problems of scientific and social development. On the other hand, it is prevalent that there is a lack of convergence in our research field. Although Korea has invested heavily in fusion research and development, Korea has mainly focused on the application and development of technology, so failed to plan convergence R&D in line with the new paradigm. Therefore, in this study, we searched for convergence R&D area that is being done to solve social problems, and tried to make use of data-driven objective methods. For this purpose, we used the investment information of global R&D projects that had no retrospective properties and derived the convergence R&D area related to coastal flooding.

Content curation aims to limit the user's experience to the most necessary content; to do this, it is necessary to identify users' information needs. Given that KISTI's Content Curation Center was established in 2018, it had little information about its users. This study intends to investigate what content scientists want to see from KISTI and how they want it curated. It investigated researchers who worked for government-funded research institutes through online surveys and telephone interviews. This study's results helped me review the current practice of KISTI content curation and give some suggestions to improve future practice. They present information on content and content curation services required by researchers; therefore, they can be used as a reference for information agencies (e.g., libraries, data centers) to improve their content curation practices.

미래유망기술정보는 차세대 제품을 개발하려는 기업뿐만 아니라 R&D를 수행하는 연구자에게도 중요한 정보이다. 그런데, 이런 중요성에도 불구하고 국내외 많은 기관에서 발굴은 하지만 그 결과를 평가하는 사례는 드문 게 사실이다. 본 고에서는 체계적이고, 효율적인 미래유망기술정보의 후행평가 모델을 정립하기 위하여 국내외 사례를 조사, 시사점을 도출하였으며, 이를 기반으로 미래유망기술 후행평가 프로세스를 제안하였다.

We report on our experience on utilization of collaborative tools for KISTI high energy physics group. Our main subject will be the new EVO (Enabling Virtual Organization) server that we hosted recently at KISTI. The EVO is a next generation collaborative tool from CalTech high energy physics group with several improvements from its predecessor VRVS (Virtual Room Videoconferencing System). EVO has the same baseline structure as in VRVS. The network of servers lies at the heart of EVO structure and one server called Panda communicates with local clients called Koala.

연구자들이 국외 생명과학관련 문헌정보를 찾으려면 PubMed와 같은 세계적인 문헌정보서비스를 많이 이용하며, 국내 생명과학관련 문헌정보를 찾으려면 KISTI 학회마을, KoreaMed 등 여러 사이트를 방문해야 한다. 이에 생명과학관련 연구를 원활히 수행할 수 있도록 생명정보 데이터베이스와 분석도구를 서비스하고 있는 KISTI 바이오인포매틱스센터(CCBB) 홈페이지에서 인터넷상의 Open Access 문헌정보와 국내 학회정보를 수집하여 메타 데이터베이스를 구축하여 서비스하고자 한다. 또한 생명과학 관련 주제별 Open Archiving 커뮤니티의 구성과 운영을 통한 연구자간의 정보교환을 유도하고, 더불어 논문뿐만 아니라 세미나, 연구노트 등의 최신의 연구정보를 공유할 수 있도록 본 프로토타입 시스템을 설계하였다.
