The transfection efficiency of plasmid DNA was inspected using multi-cationic polymer, 5, 10, 25 and 50KD polyethylenimine (PEI). The optimal neutralization ratio of PEI/DNA complexes by agarose assay was 1.5-2.0 (nmol/nmol) without much difference in molecular weight of PEI.In vitro transfection assay, most of PEI-mediated plasmid delivery was better compared to the naked DNA. Especially, 25KD PEI at optimal condition gave higher transfection rather than the standard assay of DEAE-dextran or Lipofectin. To enhance the cell targeting delivery, the liposome formulations were introduced using phospholipids. As a result, PC/PE liposomes increased 2-2.5 times of the transfection efficiency of PEI single or PC/PE single delivery, but not the case of 25KD PEI. Moreover, the DOTAP/PE-introduced PEI delivery reduced the transfection of DOTAP/PE single delivery. All these results proved that the PEI can be used not only good transfectants and but also good DNA condensing agents in neutral/anionic liposome for cell targeting delivery.

Kikuchi's disease (KD) is an idiopathic and self-limiting necrotizing lymphadenitis that predominantly occurs in young females. It is common in Asia, and the cervical lymph nodes are commonly involved. Generally, KD has symptoms and signs of lymph node tenderness, fever, and leukocytopenia, but there are no reports on treatment for the associated myofacial pain. We herein report a young female patient who visited a pain clinic and received a trigger point injection 2 weeks before the diagnosis of KD. When young female patients with myofascial pain visit a pain clinic, doctors should be concerned about the possibility of KD, which is rare but can cause severe complications.

A method of making inserts for shaped fields in electron beam therapy on the Mevatron KD 67-7467 Linear Acclerator is introduced. The inserts are made from an alloy called Lipowitz metal. These are designed to fit the inside of the standard Siemens cones. Studies have shown that this method does not adversely affect field flatness. However, if the ratio of shaped field to open field is greater than about 70%, the output dose is significantly changed by the inserts. Because the cone ratios for the fields do not follow the open cone ratio curves on the Mevatron KD 67-7467, we separated the cone ratio suggested by Biggs into two parts, the insert ratio and the cone factor. The dosimetry for these shaped beams has been investigated extensively.

Toxic effert of water extract from leaves of Pinus rigida and some phenolic compounds on the seeds germination of Raphanus sativus var. hortensis for. acanthiformis Makino has been studied. There was little difference of germination percentage among the pH value of leaf extract (pH3~9). The germination percentage drastically with increased concentration level of leaf extract at about 60 percent. Seeds gemination of Raphanus sativus var. hortensis for. acanthiformis Makino inhibited severely by caffeic acid, ferulic acid and p-coumaric acid at M, but the germination percentage was higher than that of the control group in vanillic acid. In electrophoresis, there was no differences at earlier seedling stage of protein band between allelochemical treated and non-treated group, but in late stage, two protein band near 58kd and 27kd did not appeared in the toxic affected group. In case of caffeic acid treatment, two protein band near 58kd and 27kd did not found at late stage too.

Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute vasculitis of small and medium sized arteries. Even many years after onset, aneurysms and stenosis in coronary arteries may lead to an acute myocardial infarction, which is described as atypical or missed KD in childhood. KD is an underlying disease of young adults with acute myocardial infarction. We report on a rare case involving a total occlusion in the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery combined with a giant left main aneurysm in a young adult patient with acute myocardial infarction ascribed to antecedent KD that is undefined but almost certain.

To predict the shelf-life of ammunition stockpiled in intermediate have practical meaning as a core value of combat support. This research is to Predict the shelf-life of ammunition by applying time series analysis based on report from ASRP of the 155mm, KD541 performed for 6 years. This study applied time series analysis using 'Mini-tab program' to measure the amount of stabilizer as time passes by is different from the other one that uses regression analysis. The average shelf-life of KD541 drawn by time series analysis was 43 years and the lowest shelf-life assessed on the 95% confidence level was 35 years.

In this paper, We propose the fuzzy controller for the gain tuning of PID controller The proposed controller doesn't use the crisp output error and rule tables though with a fuzzy inference process in forward fuzzifier, New Fuzzy PID Controller assigns relations and ranges of two variables of PID gain parameters. These new gain parameters are calculated by the fuzzy inference with max-min ranges of Kp and Kd. The Ki parameter is computed automatically between Kp and Kd parameter Is calculated by Ziegler-Nickels tuning rules. Finally we experimented the propose controller by the hydraulic servo motor control system. We can obtained desired results through the good control characteristics.

Lipophilic fraction(LF) from Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer inhibited the aggregation of human platelets induced by th rombin(0.1u/$m{\ell}$). LF and Molsidomine(vasodilator) induced the stimulation of cGMP - elevation and 50KD - Phosphorylation. and then the inhibition of 20KD - Phosphorylation in human platelets activated by thrombin. LF also inhibited the $Ca^{2-}-influx$ into platelets. When rat(SD : male) was fed with LF, the level of cGMP was increased in rat platelets stimulated by collagen and thrombin. On the other hand. verapamil, $Ca^{2-}-antagonist$ increased cAMP level ;n platelet stimulated by thrombin. but LF does not affected. However LF potently inhibited the thromboxane $A_2(TXA_2)$ production. The results suggest that the inhibitory effects of LF are mediated by regulation the phosphorylatior. of 50KD via cGMP-elevation and depend upon the decrease of $TXA_2$ level.

This paper described a method of determining whether arcing is present in a low-voltage wiring system. We simulated the series arcing that generated in electrical loads and fabricated a arc detection module which can discriminate between normal and arcing state. The module consists of a high-pass filter with a low cut-off frequency of 3 kHz to attenuate power frequency voltage and an active band-pass filter with a frequency of 4 kHz ${\sim}$ 8 kHz to detect series arc signals only. We tested an Incandescent lamp that was controlled by a dimmer and analysed. The module consists of a high-pass filter with a low cut-off frequency of 3 kHz to attenuate power frequency voltage by 80 dB and an active band-pass filter with a frequency of 4 kHz to detect series arc signals only. From the experimental results, we could detect series arc signals without an influence of non-linear loads.

Purpose: It has been reported that 10% to 20% of children with Kawasaki disease (KD) will not respond to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment. In this study, we aimed to identify useful predictors of therapeutic failure in children with KD. Methods: We examined 309 children diagnosed with KD at the Kyungpook National University Hospital and the Inje University Busan Paik Hospital between January 2005 and June 2011. We retrospectively reviewed their medical records and analyzed multiple parameters in responders and nonresponders to IVIG. Results: Among the 309 children, 30 (9.7%) did not respond to IVIG. They had significantly higher proportion of neutrophils, and higher levels of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), total bilirubin, and N-terminal fragment of B-type natriuretic peptide than did responders. IVIG-nonresponders had a significantly longer duration of hospitalization, and more frequently experienced coronary artery lesion, and sterile pyuria. No differences in the duration of fever at initial treatment or, clinical features were noted. Conclusion: Two independent predictors (ALT${\geq}$84 IU/L, total bilirubin${\geq}$0.9 mg/dL) for nonresponse were confirmed through multivariate logistic regression analysis. Thus elevated ALT and total bilirubin levels might be useful in predicting nonresponse to IVIG therapy in children with KD.
