Objective: To report a case of a patient with a psychosomatic disorder who complained of hyperventilation and was treated with oriental medical treatments and emotional freedom techniques (EFTs). Methods: The patient was diagnosed as having a psychosomatic disorder through an interview and several psychological tests, such as the house-tree-person (HTP) and the person in the rain (PITR) tests. We treated the patient with oriental medical treatments that included herbal medications, western medications, moxibustion, cupping, and EFT. Results: After the treatments, the clinical symptoms of the patient were improved. Conclusions: Oriental medical treatments and EFT may be effective treatments for psychosomatic disorders.

These studies were performed to investigate the acting sites of ginseng total saponins (GTS) on the U-50, 488H-induced antinociception and the inhibitory effect of the development of tolerance to U-50, 488H-induced antinociception by GTS were studied. The U-50, 488H-induced antinociception was ntagonized in mice pretreated with GTS intraperitoneally, intracerebrally. These antagonisms were reversed by the pretratment iwth a serotonin precursor, 5-hydroxytrypophan (5-HTP), but not with a noradrenaline precursor, L-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA). However, the intraplantar sites. On the other hand, GTS inhibited the development of tolerance to U-50, 488H-induced antinociception was reversed by pretreatment with 5-HTP, but not with L-DOPA. Therefore, the antagonism of U-50, 488H-induced antinociception and the inhibition of the development of tolerance to U-50, 488H-induced antinociception and the inhibition of the development of tolerance to U-50, 488H-induced antinociception by GTS are dependent on serotonegic mechanisms.

A numerical analysis of solid-liquid phase change was performed on a heat transfer module which consisted of circulating water path (BRINE), heat transfer plate (HTP) and phase change material (PCM) layers, such as high temperature PCM (HPCM, $78{\sim}79^{\circ}C$) and low temperature PCM (LPCM, $28{\sim}29^{\circ}C$). There were five arrangements, consisting of BRINE, HTP, LPCM and HPCM layers in the heat transfer module. The time and heat transfer rate for melting/solidification was compared to their arrangements, against each other. As results, the numerical time without convection was longer than the experimental one for melting/solidification. Moreover, the melting/solidification with the BRINE I-LPCM-BRINE II-HPCM arrangement was faster(10 hours) than the others; HPCM-BRINE-LPCM, BRINE I-HPCM-LPCM-BRINE II one.

We have previously reported that the antagonism of U-50,488H-induced antinociception in mice pretreated with ginseng total saponins (GTS) Ivas abolished by pretreatment with a serotonin precursor, 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), but not by a noradrenaline precursor, L-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) in the tail flick test. In the present experiments, the effect of the same GTS on the development of tolerance to U-50,488H-induced antinociception was determined. GTS inhibited the development of tolerance to U-50,488H-induced antinociception. The inhibitory effect of GTS on the development of tolerance to U-50,488H-induced antinociception was reversed by 5-HTP, but not by L-DOPA. These findings suggest that the inhibitory effect of GTS on the development of tolerance to U-50,488H-induced antinociception is dependent on serotonergic mechanisms. 본 연구는 측좌각, 봉선핵 및 후구 등 서로 다른 뇌 부위의 손상으로 야기된 공격성에 대한 약물의 효과를 비교 검토하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 측좌각, 봉선핵 및 후구 손상으로 야기된 muricide는 atropine으로 억제되었으나 hyperirritability는 억제되지 않았다. 2. 측좌각, 봉선핵 손상으로 인한 muricide는 L-DOPA, L-5-HTP에 의하여 현저히 억제되었으나 후구 손상으로 인한 muricide는 거의 억제되지 않았다. 3. 측좌각, 봉선핵 및 후구 손상으로 인한 muricide는 항우울제에 의하여 현저히 억제되었다. 특히 측좌각 및 봉선핵 손상으로 인한 muricide 억제에는 nomifensine과 clomipramine이 효과적이었으며 후구 손상으로 인한 muricide 억제에는 imipramine이 가장 효과적이었다. 그러나 hyperirritability는 항우울제에 의하여 거의 억제되지 않았다. 이상의 결과에서 측좌각 손상으로 인한 공격성의 약물학적 특징은 후구보다는 봉선핵 손상으로 인한 공격성과 유사하였으며 muricide 억제에 대한 항우울제의 효과가 서로 다른 것을 이용하여 항우울제의 작용평가에 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

본 연구는 집단미술치료가 시설보호아동의 분노조절 공감능력을 중심으로 한 사회성 향상에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 J도 I시에 소재하고 있는 아동보호시설 두 곳에서 생활하는 아동 12명을 실험집단 6명, 통제집단 6명으로 무선할당 하였다. 실험집단은 주 2회 60분씩 사전 사후검사 변화를 포함하여 총 25회기 집단미술치료프로그램을 실시하였고 통제집단은 무 처치하였다. 연구결과 집단미술치료가 시설보호아동의 사회성 향상, 분노조절 향상, 공감능력 향상에 긍정적 효과가 있었으며 HTP, KSD, DAS 사전 사후검사에서 형식적, 내용적 평가에 긍정적 변화가 있었다. 본 연구를 통해, 집단미술치료가 시설보호아동의 분노조절과 공감능력을 중심으로 사회성 향상에 긍정적인 도움이 된 것을 알 수 있었으며, 시설보호아동을 대상으로 하는 집단미술치료 연구가 치료적인 역할로 사회성 향상에 도움이 될 수 있음을 나타낸다.

Objectives : This article aims to find how effective the art therapy is on the improvement of the self expression and the interpersonal relations with others, as medium for verbal communication of schizophrenic patients. Methods : The subject of this study was one schizophrenic patient who had been treated with drugs for five years in W university hospital, as well as counseled by an art therapy oo counsel office in J city. The art therapy had been performed the total 25 sessions, fifty minute per session, one session per week, from November 28 in 2008 to April 27 in 2009. The test was by HTP. Results : The results of this study are as follows: First, in the pretest of HTP, the subject showed a little lethargy, painting very simple house-shaped figures and too simple rectangular figures corresponding to those painted by 4 or 5-year-old children. In the post-test, however, the structures of houses were described concretely and three-dimensionally, and the descriptions of people were changed into concrete figure, by which we could see the improvement effect on the self expression and the interpersonal relations. Second, in the earlier stage, there was little verbal self expression, and little self respect, staring into space and showing passive attitude without positive assertion and expression. In the later stage, however, there were positive assertion and expression, even showing sense of humor. Lastly, in the earlier stage, there were few interpersonal relations. In the later stage, however, eye contacts and the interpersonal relations were increased during conversation and in the art work process, respectively. Conclusions : These results suggest that the art therapy can be effective on improvement of the self expression and the interpersonal relations with others, as medium for verbal communication of schizophrenic patients.

This study examined the Influence of ginseng total saponins (GTS) on the analgestic action and tolerance development of pentazocine in mice. Pentazocine prolonged the latency to response in the tail flick rather than in the tail pinch test. The analgesic effect of pentaEocine was antagonized by naloxone and completely eliminated by pretreatment u·ith f-chlorophenylalanine (PCPA). GTS provented the pentasocine-incuced analgesia ann inhibited the development of tolerance to pentazocine. The antagonistic effect of GTS on the pentazocine-induced analgesia was abolished by 5-HTP, but not by L-DOPA. These results suggest that GTS inhibits the analgesic action of pentazocine by the interaction with serotonergic neuron.

Ginseng saponins(GS), protopanaxadiol saponins(PD) and protopanaxatriol saponins (PT) were tested for the inhibition of the development of morphine tolerance and dependence antagonism of morphine analgesia and the loss of morphine tolerance and dependence in mice The results were as follows: 1. Inhibition of the development of morphine tolerance and dependence. 2. Antagonism of morphine analgesia. 3. Increase in the loss of morphine tolerance and dependence. Antagonism of morphine by ginseng saponins and its reversal by L-DOPA and 5-HTP suggest some possibility that catecholamines and serotonin levels might be associated with the results.

Jisuguimundo is an inimitable magic hexagon devised by Choi Seok-Jeong, who was the author of GuSuRyak as well as a prime minister in Joseon dynasty. Jisuguimundo, recorded in GuSuRyak, is also known as Hexagonal Tortoise Problem (HTP) because its nine hexagons resemble a tortoise shell. We call the sum of numbers in a hexagon in Jisuguimundo a magic sum, and show that the magic sum of hexagonal tortoise problem of order 2 varies 40 through 62 exactly and that of hexagonal tortoise problem of order 3 varies 77 through 109 exactly. We also find all of the possible solutions for hexagonal tortoise problem of oder 2.
