The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of rigidity of post core systems on stress distribution by the finite element stress analysis method. Three-dimensional finite element models simulating an endodontically treated maxillary central incisor restored with a zirconia crown were prepared. Each model contained cortical bone, trabecular bone, periodontal ligament, 4mm apical root canal filling, and post-and-core. A 50N static occlusal load was applied to the palatal surface of the crown with a $60^{\circ}$ angle to the long axis of the tooth. And three parallel type post (zirconia, glass fiber and stainless steel) and two core (Paracore and Tetric ceram) materials were evaluated, respectively. The differences in stress transfer characteristics of the models were analyzed. von Mises stresses were chosen for presentation of results and maximum displacement and hydrostatic pressure were also calculated. For the Result of the research, the model applied glass fiber to post material has lowest von Mises stress and it is suitable for material of post core systems.
Severe accident scenarios in nuclear reactors, such as nuclear meltdown, reveal that an extremely hot molten core may fall into the nuclear reactor cavity and seriously affect the safety of the nuclear containment vessel due to the chain reaction caused by the reaction between the molten core and concrete. This paper reports on research focused on the type and amount of vapor produced during the reaction between a high-temperature molten core and concrete, as well as on the erosion rate of concrete and the heat transfer characteristics at its vicinity. This study identifies themass fraction and melting temperature as the most influential properties of concrete necessary for a safety analysis conducted in relation to the thermal interaction between the molten core and the basemat concrete. The types of concrete that are actually used in nuclear reactor cavities were investigated. The $H_2O$ content in concrete required for the computation of the relative amount of gases generated by the chemical reaction of the vapor, the quantity of $CO_2$ necessary for computing the cooling speed of the molten core, and the melting temperature of concrete are evaluated experimentally for the molten core-concrete interaction analysis.

Core competence of enterprises became the focus of many researches recently. This essay summarizes the situation of Chinese harbor enterprises and establishes an evaluating model which makes use of factor-analysis.
Technology innovations have been accelerating changes across industries and intensifying competition. Enterprises are therefore required to continuously secure their internal and external competitiveness. Based on the principle that core competencies of a firm are essential to its competitiveness, many research studies have been conducted to figure out the effect of core competencies to business performance. However, individual research works considered a part of core competencies or limited to a specific industry, which means that their findings may differ when additional core competencies are included in their analysis. After re-establishing the definition of each core competency from literature review, this study comprehensively investigated the effect relationship among core competencies and business performance. Structural equation modeling and multiple regression analysis with 421 survey respondents from various industries were conducted for our empirical study.
This paper presents an eddy current loss analysis for a transverse flux rotary machine (TFRM) with laminated stator cores, which consist of inner and outer cores whose laminated directions are perpendicular to each other. Although the TFRM is laminated to reduce eddy current losses, it still exhibits rapidly increasing core losses as the frequency increases. To solve this problem, slits are introduced to the stator outer core. 3-dimensional finite element analysis (3D FEA) based on the T-${\Omega}$ formulation is used to solve the eddy-current problem for a various numbers of slits in the nonlinear lamination core. The effects of the slits are confirmed using experiment data and 3D FEA results.
With the emphasis on core competencies, the University of Seoul has exerted efforts to reflect the importance of core competencies in university curricula. The main assessment tool used in Korea is the Korea Collegiate Essential Skills Assessment (K-CESA), developed by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET). This study examined whether core competencies measured using K-CESA are valid as a tool for assessing educational achievements among college students, and analyzed the correlation between K-CESA scores and course grades. The analysis was performed on approximately 204 engineering students at the University of Seoul. According to the correlation analysis between core competencies and courses, MSC courses were shown to be related to the resource and through information use competency and higher order thinking competency. Through the Analysis of Variance, students in the accreditation programs and students living in urban area showed higher competency scores. In the multiple regression, it was shown that Accreditation and MSC courses grades were the important variables to predict the competency of the students. Based on these findings, we confirmed that the K-CESA tool has a certain level of correlation with academic performance and that it functions as one of several ways to evaluate the program outcomes of engineering education accreditation.
Knowledge on the functional characteristics and temporal variation of anaerobic bacterial populations is important for better understanding of the microbial process of two-stage anaerobic reactors. However, owing to the high diversity of anaerobic bacteria, close attention should be prioritized to the frequently abundant bacteria that were defined as core bacteria and putatively functionally important. In this study, using MiSeq sequencing technology, the core bacterial community of 98 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) was determined in a two-stage upflow blanket filter reactor treating pharmaceutical wastewater. The core bacterial community accounted for 61.66% of the total sequences and accurately predicted the sample location in the principal coordinates analysis scatter plot as the total bacterial OTUs did. The core bacterial community in the first-stage (FS) and second-stage (SS) reactors were generally distinct, in that the FS core bacterial community was indicated to be more related to a higher-level fermentation process, and the SS core bacterial community contained more microbes in syntrophic cooperation with methanogens. Moreover, the different responses of the FS and SS core bacterial communities to the temperature shock and influent disturbance caused by solid contamination were fully investigated. Co-occurring analysis at the Order level implied that Bacteroidales, Selenomonadales, Anaerolineales, Syneristales, and Thermotogales might play key roles in anaerobic digestion due to their high abundance and tight correlation with other microbes. These findings advance our knowledge about the core bacterial community and its temporal variability for future comparative research and improvement of the two-stage anaerobic system operation.
In this paper, a numerical application algorithm for applying the CFAM (Consistent Fluid Added Mass) matrix for a core seismic analysis is developed and applied to the 7-ducts core system to investigate the fluid effects on the dynamic characteristics and the seismic time history responses. To this end, three cases such as the in-air condition, the in-water condition without the fluid coupling terms, and the in-water condition with the fluid coupling terms are considered in this paper. From modal analysis, the core duct assemblies revealed strongly coupled out-of-phase vibration modes unlike the other cases with the fluid coupling terms considered. From the results of the seismic time history analysis, it was also verified that the fluid coupling terms in the CFAM matrix can significantly affect the impact responses and the seismic displacement responses of the ducts.
The neutronic feasibility of typical Korean three-loop 900MWe class PWR core loaded with mixed oxide fuels for both annual and 18-month cycle strategies has been investigated as a means for spent fuel management. For this study, a method of determining equivalent plutonium content was developed under the equivalence concept which gives the same cycle length as uranium fuel. Optimal plutonium zoning within the MOX assembly was also designed with the aim of minimizing the peak md power. Conceptual core designs hate hen developed for equilibrium cycle with the following variations: annual and 18-month cycle, 1/3 and full MOX loading schemes, and typical and high moderation lattice. The analysis of key core physics parameters shows that in all cases considered satisfactory core designs seem to be feasible, though addition of control rod system and change in Technical Specification for soluble boron concentration are required for full MOX loading in order to meet the current design requirements.
Thermal analysis is performed to protect the propulsion system of low-earth-orbit earth observation satellite from unwanted thermal disaster like propellant freezing. To implement thermal design adequately, heater powers for the propulsion system estimated through the thermal analysis are decided. Based on those values anticipated herein, the average power for propulsion system becomes 22.02 watts when the only one redundant catalyst bed heater is turned on. When for the preparation of thruster firing, 25.93 watts of the average power is required. All heaters selected for propulsion components operate to prevent propellant freezing meeting the thermal requirements for the propulsion system with the worst-case average voltage, i.e. 25 volts.
