"Hyegukji (惠局志)" was written in 1719 by Gwanguibing (姜渭聘), who was Hyeminseo (惠民署) medical bureaucrat. This book contains rare data such "sigrye (式例)" which shows Hyeminseo medical bureaucrat living during the 18th century. This is unique data related to Hyeminseo in detail and affluence. The purpose of this study is to introduce and analyze the formation and contents of "Hyegukji". Also content comparison between "Hyegukji" and law books as "Daejeon tongpyen (大典通編)" shows changes in medical bureaucracy of the Joseon Dynasty.
Although Maejeong-Bogam (梅亭寶鑑) is a manuscript, it has attracted considerable attention from academia because of the clear authorship and relevant treatment methodologies. This article is the result of an extensive study on the author and the contents of the manuscript through the use of various data. This article revealed facts which include: 1) Author HAN Bangryeol (韓昉烈) is a Confucian doctor who lived in Namwon area, Jeolla province of Korea. 2) Dr. HAN's other manuscript of Bongseong-Shinbang (鳳城神方) was written before 1814. 3) Maejeong-Bogam (梅亭寶鑑) collects pediatric medical records only and is focused on outbreaks and treatment of smallpox among children. 4) Smallpox was a national concern in the late Joseon Dynasty and doctors of the day developed corresponding therapies. 5) Smallpox Inoculation was carried out in Jeolla Province as early $19^{th}$ in Korea.
Objectives Oriental pediatrics during the Late-Joseon dynasty had constantly developed positively, independently, originally, but had declined since Japanese invasion because the western medicine flowed into Korea and Japanese imperialism carried our the oriental medical obliterating policy. As a effort of the oriental medical group that coped with the policy of Japanese imperialism, there were publication of oriental medical academic journal and there were the most important data. Those were the bases of our study which was about the tendencies of oriental pediatrics in modern Korea. Methods We studied academic journals on oriental medicine in Knowledge of Oriental Medicine Web Service and selected 31 volumes of nine academic journals our of 80 volumes of twelve academic journals, which were about pediatrics. Results and Conclusions Research into these journals has derived the conclusion that the oriental pediatrics academic trends at the time were transformed into new state which were brought the interaction and were balanced with the merit of oriental-western medicine.
Historically, children have inevitably been under different treatments depending on their circumstances. In noble families, overprotection rather damaged children; in general, children undergoing important stages of life were exploited as laborers and not cared for. In order to help these children grow whole and healthy, pediatrics has provided information on the right environment and medical treatments for children. In traditional Korean medicine, it is said, "the reason I put gynecology and pediatrics in the first chapters $\cdots$ of this book (Chapter on Pediatrics, Euibangyoochui) is to show my intention of respecting the origin", emphasizing the significance of children as the basis of a person. This is distinguished not only by philosophical implication, but also by its practical contribution to children's health. Euibangyoochui 醫方類聚 is the major book of 15th-century Korean medicine, compiled medicine until Joseon. Through Chapter on pediatrics, which collected medical theories and treatments on children, this paper studies how children had been perceived in traditional Korean medicine, and how it was followed by corresponding medical treatments.

While the presence of pinworm eggs in archaeological samples has been reported by many researchers in the New World, those have been detected very scarcely in the Old World, especially in East Asian countries. In fact, many parasite species were recovered from the archeological remains in Korea, eggs of Enterobius vermicularis had not been found. Recently, a female mummy buried in the 17th century was discovered in the Joseon tomb from Dangjin-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. After rehydration process for 12 days, investigations were carried on the luminal surface of the colon. From them, 3 eggs of E. vermicularis were recovered. They were elliptical, transparent with a thin egg shell, $50.3{\pm}5.2\;{\mu}m$ (length) and $28.2{\pm}3.9\;{\mu}m$ (width) in size. This is the first discovery of E. vermicularis eggs in East Asia.
This study performed to examine the genuineness of Kyung-Jong's poison hypothesis which was the one of the biggest topic in the history of Joseon Dynasty. Kyung-Jong's poison hypothesis is that Kyung-Jong who was the 20th king of the Joseon Dysansty was poisoned by the next king Young-Jo who became the 21st king. This theory was hyphosized by Sim-Yoohyun and was widely known in the 4th year of Young-jo through the revolt. Kyung-Jong suffered with severe diarrhea for 5 days which finally took his life away right after he had have marinated raw crab and persimmon. Some insist the poison must had been in those foods. However, the symptoms that Kyung-jong had were not matched with the poisons which used in those days and also poison was not the reasonable way of murder, so it is hard to say there is little possibility of poison. On the other hand, considering of Kyung-jong's health, marinated raw crab and persimmon could result of severe diarrhea. In the mean time, the possibility of Young-Jo's intention of killing Kyung-Jong is very low. Rather, he blame the royal doctors who scout the outside doctors, because he believed that it led Kyung-jong's death since the treatment was chaotic with all those different doctors. Even after the Kyung-Jong's death, Young-jo was always strict to scout the outside doctors and missed Kyung-jong consistently. On this basis, it is hard to say that king Kyung-Jong was murdered by poisoning.

This study is purposed to list the full translation of "The secret method of tumor treatment(治瘇方)" and to report the results to the academic world. The results are described as follows. 1. It seems to be difficult to accept the current "The secret method of tumor treatment(治瘇秘方)" as the original script of "The method of tumor treatment(治瘇方)". It seemed that the Imeonguk(任彦國)'s 'Important and Valuable Method(遺方)' at the era of Joseon was copied by handwriting among the private sector. 2. There are contents which are overlapped with "Experience Method of Acupuncture(針灸經驗方)". A further study is required whether the "Experience Method of Acupuncture" was added later on. Because resolution for the before and after of these two books may be acted as an important matter to conjecture the related schools with acupuncture science. 3. The Korean style unique method and terminology were introduced frequently in "The method of tumor treatment". Besides that, materials for the medicine were filled with the things of easy-to-contact in our daily life. It is regarded as one of the excellent materials to confirm the superiority of oriental medical science through the clinical experiments today.

Picture of five viscera and six bowels is a Taoist document written by a Taoist woman named Hoeum during Tang dynasty. It contains not only medical contents but also technique of medical massage of viscera and bowels that controls and prevents diseases of Five viscera in the body. Since Picture of five viscera and six bowels was cited in Classified Assemblage of Medical Prescriptions publised in Joseon dynasty during king Seongjong, technique of medical massage of viscera and bowels has been mentioned in Dongeuibogam and has become an important means to exercise five viscera and six bowels to not only medical men but also Confucianists, Taoists, and common people. But nowadays, the detailed exercising method of technique of medical massage of viscera and bowels is not transmitted. The need of restoring practice method of technique of medical massage of viscera and bowels for people of today is required. Je Joon Shin Pyeon, of 濟衆新編 is a classic on medicines which was written as an attempt to make the best of many different medicinal classics in order to make the details clear and concise, because Treasure Mirror of Eastern Medicine was thought to be too extensice and broad, or '浩繁'. Since the result was simple and clear in it best sense, it was thought of as the book which ended the habit of being too extensive, or '芟繁'. On the other hand, there was a need to pass on new knowledge and records, due to the fact that there were diseases that have changed in their properties and nature, or that have emerged through the passing of time, and the fact that various experiences on medical treatments have been accumulated and that the medical system have changed. This is in inquiry mainly in aspects of new knowledge that Treasure Mirror of Eastern Medicines have not been able to include in its details.
