This study analyzed the formal characteristics of traditional Jokakbo and modern works applying Jokakbo, and developed aroma chumoni representing the symbolic image and cultural identity of Bamboo at Dam-Yang, Mae-Wha at Kwang-Wang and San-Soo-You at Ku-Rae, all of which are in Chonnam. Initially, inform a theoretical point of view, the characteristics of modern works applying Jokakbo were investigated with regard to the pattern, color, fabric material and technique. Secondly, for the development of aroma chumoni, square and round patterns, representing the images of Bamboo, Mae-Wha and San-Soo-You, were applied. Relating to colors, green, pink, red purple, yellow, light yellow red and pale yellow were applied. With respect to the fabric materials, No-Bang and A-Sa, representing the lightness and coolness of the image, were used. When considering the technique, the traditional needle, rather than any other modern technique, was used.

This study is on the sensitive image of pattern expressed in the color & formative types of traditional Jokakbo(scraps of cloth). The object of this research is Korean traditional scraps of cloth in the latter period of Chosun Dynasty. This study is to be classified into 10 formative types like square type 1, square type 2, diagonal type, diamond type, many color striped type, concentric circle type, pinwheel type, vertical line type, cintamani pattern type, and free style type to apply the design of Jokakbo to Korean design. And color group is divided into vivid tone and pale tone. And it constitutes 17 patterns from the combination of these two types. As for the factors of constitution of scraps of cloth, it consists of factors like revelation, attraction, temperature sense, abstract, and rigidity. In the emotional image in the patterns, both vivid tone and pale tone showed dynamic and warm emotion together. Also, the factors of revelation and attraction were evaluated as opposite images, and it evaluated the plain and dim emotion as more attractive emotion. They preferred the pale tone to the vivid tone. They preferred the cintamani pattern in the vivid tone, and the diamond pattern in the pale tone most. From the research result above, this study made the abstract image of scraps of cloth standardized and prepared for a basis to execute it essentially. This research will be used as basic data to make traditional Korean image spotlighted in the world fashion markets as well as it will be helpful to the development of pattern design for the scraps of cloth essentially.

Through the formative analysis of the traditional jokakbo, we have composed surface composition that was made by a perfect square, triangle, a weather vane type, vertical type, cintamani type, and a mixed rectangular. And we have composed 18 kinds of motif stimulants that was made by vivid tone, pale tone, and so on, and finally analyzed sensibility image, preference rate of them. The cause of composition for the sensibility image of stimulant was composed by the cause of simplicity characteristics, interesting characteristics, rigid-flexibility characteristics, and modern characteristics. And from these things, the cause of simplicity characteristics and the cause of interesting characteristics were revealed as important dimensional factors of sensibility image. The sensibility image of motif was revealed as a simple image of perfect square, a feminine image of cintamani type, a modern image of mixed rectangular. And black-white colored mixed rectangular and chromatic colored cintamani type were also revealed as an interesting image. The preference rate of motif is related with the cause of interesting characteristics and simplicity characteristics, it also has been revealed to prefer the pale tone than others. And it also has been revealed that achromatic colored mixed rectangular, cintamani type of vivid tone, perfect square and rectangular of pale tone were mostly preferred.

And in the case of small pattern, perfect square was revealed as a simple image, cint$\tilde{a}$mani type was revealed as a feminine image, triangle with achromatic colored weather vane type and pale tone was revealed as an interesting image, achromatic colored and pale toned a weather vane type, vivid toned vertical type was revealed as a modern image. Lastly, it revealed that the preference rate against clothes is related with the cause of simplicity characteristics, interesting characteristics, and rigid-flexibility characteristics in the case of large patterns, and especially in the case of large patterns and small patterns, the clothes of pale tone are more preferred. And achromatic colored mixed rectangular and chromatic colored cint$\tilde{a}$mani type are more preferred by the large patterns, and chromatic colored and pale toned weather vane type is more preferred by the small patterns.

The purpose of this research is to suggest a scarf design which reflects the traditional culture native to Korea by making use of the combined pattern of jokgakbo patchwork and ddeoksal(rice cake). For research methodology, the computer design programs of Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 were used along with the related literature. For the combined sets of motif pattern, the following were consider: first, a combination of jogakbo in square shape and chrysanthemum in a rice cake mold; second, a combination of radius jogakbo and geometrical pattern; third, a combination of vertical and horizontal forms of jogakbo and rice cake pattern; fourth, a combination of yeouijumunbo and butterfly pattern in rice cake mold. For the scarf design with these applications, technical skills such as repeat, rotation, symmetry, free setup, and distortion were used for the combination motif. In terms of the shape of the design, there are two, square and lengthwise tetragons.

The purpose of this paper is to develop waist coat designs that can be worn in the present day by researching design techniques and traditional waist coat forms shown on Korean patchworks called 'Jokakbo', which was commonly used in our traditional culture. By selecting patchwork as the primary motive in particular. The Bojaki, also known as deungguhli or baeguhli(背巨里), gives off a natural and vibrant color sensation. A new design that could be practically worn with modern clothing was developed by sufficiently reflecting this color sensation as well as the aesthetic quality of its geometric shape. On the basis of theoretical consideration of traditional cloth and vest, total of 7 points were designed and produced. These works contain diverse application of the traditional Bojaki and vest. The design of the Bojaki grants rhythmic sense to the side where diverse colors and formative patterns shown on the cloth can be seen as monotonous. The entire side opening of the traditional waistcoat can cover multiple sizes. Depending on the movement, the front and back naturally spreads. The vest can also be worn in layers or used as a cotton quilt depending on the season. And after minimal design alterations, it will be possible to wear the vest with diverse modern clothing due to its straight line and form.
