부정교합과 측두하악장애 유병상태와의 관련성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Malocclusion and the Prevalence of Temporomandibular Disorder)

  • Purpose: The study is to discover the relationship between malocclusion, which is known to cause temporomandibular disorder, and temporomandibular disorder and is aimed at college students who have retained their natural teeth. Methods: The study was aimed at 500 college students at two colleges located in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Daegu metropolitan city and survey research was conducted in order to discover any relationship between malocclusion and temporomandibular disorder. After excluding copies with insincere answers or errors out of the 500 copies of the questionnaire, the study used a total of 435 copies (87%) for research and analysis. Results: Females showed a prevalence of temporomandibular joint clicking and temporomandibular joint pain, and students who had crowding showed a high prevalence of temporomandibular joint pain, temporomandibular joint clicking, and trismus. Students whose occlusal condition was not good demonstrated a high prevalence of temporomandibular joint pain, temporomandibular joint clicking, and trismus. Students who had maxillary protrusion showed a prevalence of temporomandibular joint clicking and trimus, whereas students who had mandibular protrusion showed a high prevalence of temporomandibular joint clicking. Conclusion: Students whose dental condition was crowding and students whose occlusal condition was not good exhibited a high prevalence of three types of symptoms of temporomandibular disorder. Meanwhile student who had maxillary protrusion showed a high prevalence of temporomandibular joint clicking and trismus, while students who had mandibular protrusion showed a prevalence of temporomandibular joint clicking.

Influence of the implant-abutment connection design and diameter on the screw joint stability

  • PURPOSE. This study was conducted to evaluate the influence of the implant-abutment connection design and diameter on the screw joint stability. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Regular and wide-diameter implant systems with three different joint connection designs: an external butt joint, a one-stage internal cone, and a two-stage internal cone were divided into seven groups (n=5, in each group). The initial removal torque values of the abutment screw were measured with a digital torque gauge. The postload removal torque values were measured after 100,000 cycles of a 150 N and a 10 Hz cyclic load had been applied. Subsequently, the rates of the initial and postload removal torque losses were calculated to evaluate the effect of the joint connection design and diameter on the screw joint stability. Each group was compared using Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test as post-hoc test (${\alpha}$=0.05). RESULTS. The postload removal torque value was high in the following order with regard to magnitude: two-stage internal cone, one-stage internal cone, and external butt joint systems. In the regular-diameter group, the external butt joint and one-stage internal cone systems showed lower postload removal torque loss rates than the two-stage internal cone system. In the wide-diameter group, the external butt joint system showed a lower loss rate than the one-stage internal cone and two-stage internal cone systems. In the two-stage internal cone system, the wide-diameter group showed a significantly lower loss rate than the regular-diameter group (P<.05). CONCLUSION. The results of this study showed that the external butt joint was more advantageous than the internal cone in terms of the postload removal torque loss. For the difference in the implant diameter, a wide diameter was more advantageous in terms of the torque loss rate.

Probabilistic Bilinear Transformation Space-Based Joint Maximum A Posteriori Adaptation

  • This letter proposes a more advanced joint maximum a posteriori (MAP) adaptation using a prior model based on a probabilistic scheme utilizing the bilinear transformation (BIT) concept. The proposed method not only has scalable parameters but is also based on a single prior distribution without the heuristic parameters of the previous joint BIT-MAP method. Experiment results, irrespective of the amount of adaptation data, show that the proposed method leads to a consistent improvement over the previous method.

  • Flash butt weldability of 590MPa dual phase steel is carried out under micro metallographical examination and macro mechanical property tests. The objective of present study is to investigate the cause that brings on bond line fracture, and is to improve mechanical properties of the flash butt welded joint. The joint of flash butt welding has a superior tensile property, but has bad formability due to oxide formed at bond interface. The HAZ softening in the weld joint does not show. It was found that mechanical properties were increased with optimizing welding parameters and making application of oil dripping and post-weld heat treatment.

  • Instrumental neutron and gamma activation analysis of coal and combustion products, determination of platinum content in natural samples by radiochemical gamma activation analysis and high-sensitive track method of thorium determination has been studied with the use of the MT-25 microtron.The optimal conditions for complete elemental analysis of coal and combustion products, isolation and determination of platinum and thorium are recommended.

  • A new channel access function is proposed to enhance the performance of the Joint CDMA/PRMA. It is obtained in consideration of the number of terminals in reservation mode and the number of terminals in contention mode whose probability distribution is estimated by applying pseudo Bayesian approach. Simulation results show that the performance of the Joint CDMA/PRMA can be improved by applying new channel access function under voice-only traffic and mixed voice/random-data traffic.

  • Specially, High Temperature Superconducting power-transmission cable(HTS cable), 3-phase 100m long, 22.9kV class HTS power transmission cable system have been developed by Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) and LS cable Ltd. that is one of 21st century frontier project in Korea. This cable was installed in KEPCO(Go-chang) testing site. In case of manufacturing HTS cable, superconducting joint is very important because they need very long tapes. Therefore, this paper gives some investigation of AC Loss in joined HTS tape by using several joint methods. Finally, this paper was shown background data for the form of HTS cable joint.

충전절리면의 미끄러짐특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Sliding Characteristics of Infilling-joint Surface)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the sliding characteristics of the infilling-joint surface using the new devised shear test apparatus with changeable slope for the original infilling materials and the infilling materials experienced cyclic freezing-thawing processes. Three types of the mother rock classified as the igneous rock, the metamorphic rock and the sedimentary rock and the infilling materials were collected for laboratory test. The cohesion according to the slope change of the rock joint shows large variation within ${\pm}$5 degrees but the internal friction angle shows appears the linear decreasing tendency. It is confirmed that the affecting factor of slope change of rock joint at the behavior of rock mass is larger than that of the infilling thickness. Test results show that the cohesion and the internal friction angle in 100 times of cyclic freezing-thawing processes are decreased about 50 percent compared with original one. A further study using various infillings materials would lead to a better understanding of the failure mechanism of rock mass by slope change of rock joint.

요철 형상의 스테인레스강 Z-핀으로 보강된 복합재 접합 구조물의 피로강도 (Fatigue Strength of Composite Joint Structures Reinforced by Jagged Shaped Stainless Steel Z-pins)

  • 저자는 최근 산업체 생산 현장에서 Z-피닝 복합재 구조물을 간편하게 제작할 수 있는 Z-피닝 패치 개념을 제안하였고, 이를 적용하여 복합재 단일-겹침 전단 접합시편을 제작하였으며, 정적시험을 통하여 54~68%의 접합강도의 향상을 발표하였다. 본 연구는 상기 연구의 후속으로서, 반복하중에 대한 접합강도의 향상을 측정하기 위하여 피로시험을 수행하였다. 사용된 Z-핀은 스테인레스강 핀이며, 복합재료와의 결합력을 증가시키기 위하여 표면을 요철 형상으로 가공하였으며, 화학적으로 부식시켰다. 반복하중 조건에서 접합강도는 약 98~125% 향상되었다.
