Based on the formation characteristics, wellbore parameters and insulated tubing (IT) parameters of the Shengli oilfield, Shandong, China, a geomechanical model is built to predict the temperature distributions of the wellbore and formation. The effects of the IT heat conductivity coefficient (HCC), well depth and IT joint on the temperature distribution of the IT, completion casing, cement sheath, and formation are investigated. Results show the temperature of the formation around the wellbore has an exponentially decreasing relation with the distance to the wellbore. The temperature of the formation around the wellbore has an inverse relation with the IT HCC when the temperatures of the steam and the formation are given. The temperature of the casing outer wall is mainly determined by the steam temperature and IT HCC rather than by the initial formation temperature. The temperature of the casing at the IT joint is much larger than that of the other location. Due to the IT joint having a small size, the effects of the IT joint on the casing temperature distribution are limited to a small area only.

Quality evaluation of laser welded MCFC separator panels with large active area was performed. Lap joint was applied to produce stable air-tight seam weld by employing Nd:YAG laser. Results showed that surface contamination played a key role to form weld defects at the joint interface. However, there was no evidence that weld width at the lap joint changed after the stack operation time of 2,890h. Test results also revealed that the reinforcement values which were measured on the weld line after long time operation, were stable.
The objective of this study is to propose the FE model for mechanical clinched joint using cohesive zone model to analyze its failure behavior under impact loading. Cohesive zone model (CZM) is two-parameter failure criteria approach, which could describe the failure behavior of joint using critical stress and fracture toughness. In this study, the relationship between failure behavior of mechanical clinched joint and fracture parameters is investigated by FE analysis with CZM. Using this relationship, the critical stress and fracture toughness for tensile and shear mode are determined by H-type tensile test and lap shear test, which were made of 5052 aluminum alloy. The fracture parameters were applied to the tophat impact test to evaluate the crashworthiness. Compared penetration depth and energy absorption at the point where 50% of total displacement in result of FE analysis and experiment test for impact test, those has shown similar crashworthiness.
During the reflow process in SMT, the molten solder has been observed to move upward and solidify along the gullwing lead, which is called the wicking phenomenon. In this paper, possible causes of the wicking are investigated, and its effects on the solder joint profile are quantitatively estimated by introducing the wicking constant. The free energy reduction by intermetallic formation between the copper and tin seems to be the major source of wicking action. The joint profiles of the gullwing lead are calculated using the previous finite element formulation incorporated with the wicking constant. The calculated results show reasonably good agreements with the experimental data when the wicking effects are considered.

In the seismical capacity evaluation for RC structure wall-slab joint is very important factor. Because lateral load is resistance element and gravity load resistance element are acted mutually in the wall-slab joint. In this paper, to improve the seismic capacity of the wall-slab joint in the existing wall type apartments experiment which improve and retrofit a seismic capacity by unequal angle bracing and carbon sheet attachment are carried out. These methods are also economic and simple in mitigating seismic hazard, improve earthquake-resistance performance, and reduce risk level of building occupants. From the experimental results, the change of strength, degration of stiffness, and energy dissipation are evaluated. It can be concluded that these methods are effective in improving the seismic performance.

The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of longitudinal reinforcement for anchoring in the wide beam column joint as wall as the contribution of depth of spandrel beam to hysteretic behavior of the wide beam column joint. From the test it was shown that the specimen with anchorage in the joint had higher strength than the specimen with normal hook anchorage. Specimen with debonded reinforcement at out of Id from column face failed showing moved plastic hinge and less strength than normal specimen. However, the dissipated energy was increased $11\%$.
This paper presents an innovative stress-function variational approach in formulating the interfacial shear and normal stresses in an externally bonded concrete joint using carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) plies. The joint is subjected to surface traction loadings applied at both ends of the concrete substrate layer. By introducing two interfacial shear and normal stress functions on the CFRP-concrete interface, based on Euler-Bernoulli beam idea and static stress equations of equilibrium, the entire stress fields of the joint were determined. The complementary strain energy was minimized in order to solve the governing equation of the joint. This yields an ordinary differential equation from which the interfacial normal and shear stresses were proposed explicitly, satisfying all the multiple traction boundary conditions. Lamination theory for composite materials was also employed to obtain the interfacial stresses. The proposed approach was validated by the analytic models in the literature as well as through a comprehensive computational code generated by the authors. Furthermore, a numerical verification was carried out via the finite element software ABAQUS. In the end, a scaling analysis was conducted to analyze the interfacial stress field dependence of the joint upon effective issues using the devised code.
The aim of this study was to analyze the characteristics of knee joint sound in frequency domain and classify the knee joint diseases. The spectral analysis of knee joint sounds was performed using LPC(Linear Predictive Coding) and Wigner-Ville distribution. Ten normal subjects and 5 patients with meniscal tearing were enrolled. Each subject was seated on a chair and underwent active knee flexion and extension for 60 seconds. Sampling frequency was 10kHz and electronic stethoscope and electro-goniometer were applied during the knee motion for data collection. The spectral analysis showed 3 peaks in both groups and the difference energy distribution in time-frequency domain. These results suggest that the diagnosis of knee joint pathology using the auscultation could be easier and more correct.
In recent years, composite concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) members have been widely utilized in framed building structures like beams, columns, and beam-columns since they have significant advantages such as reducing construction time, improving the seismic performance, and possessing high ductility, strength, and energy absorbing capacity. This paper presents a new composite joint - the composite CFST beam-column joint in which the CFST member is used as the beam. The main components of the proposed composite joint are steel H-beams, CFST beams welded with the steel H-column, and a reinforced concrete slab. The steel H-beams and CFST beams are connected with the concrete slab using shear connectors to ensure composite action between them. The structural performance of the proposed composite joint was evaluated through an experimental investigation. A three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model was developed to simulate this composite joint using the ABAQUS/Explicit software, and the accuracy of the FE model was verified with the relevant experimental results. In addition, a number of parametric studies were made to examine the effects of the steel box beam thickness, concrete compressive strength, steel yield strength, and reinforcement ratio in the concrete slab on the proposed joint performance.
The research study is focuses on a form of all-bolted joint with the external ring stiffening plate in the prefabricated steel structure. The components are bolted at site after being fabricated in the factory. Six specimens were tested under cyclic loading, and the effects of column axial compression ratio, concrete-filled column, beam flange sub plate, beam web angle cleats, and spliced column on the failure mode, hysteretic behavior and ductility of the joints were analyzed. The results shown that the proposed all-bolted joint with external ring stiffening plate performed high bearing capability, stable inflexibility degradation, high ductility and plump hysteretic curve. The primary failure modes were bucking at beam end, cracking at the variable section of the external ring stiffening plate, and finally welds fracturing between external ring stiffening plate and column wall. The bearing capability of the joints reduced with the axial compression ratio increased. The use of concrete-filled steel tube column can increase the bearing capability of joints. The existence of the beam flange sub plate, and beam web angle cleat improves the energy dissipation, ductility, bearing capacity and original rigidity of the joint, but also increase the stress concentration at the variable section of the external reinforcing ring plate. The proposed joints with spliced column also performed desirable integrity, large bearing capacity, initial stiffness and energy dissipation capacity for engineering application by reasonable design.
