The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of personal characteristics on job stressors, job stress symptoms, and job performance of workers in fashion and textile industries. Personal characteristics includes gender, marital status, educational level, age, type of industry, type of occupation, job position and work period. The data were obtained from questionnaire completed by 529 workers who were employed by textile or clothing manufacturers located in Seoul, Daegu, or Gyeongsang-do province. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which includes frequency, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe's test. The results indicated that all personal characteristics had significant effects on job stressors, job stress symptoms, and job performance. Age and job position among personal characteristics showed to be the most important variables which influenced job stressor, job stress symptoms, and job performance.
This study reviewed the literature pertaining to the cause and effects of job stress. Many definitions of stress have been offered and the diversity of these definitions has been generated by medical scientists, psychologists, and behavioral scientists. Most approaches dealing with job stress have involved listing of various sources of job stress, moderators, and outcomes. This study is concerned with the selection of variables, the relationships between job stressors and outcomes, and the effects of moderators on these relationships investigated in job stress research. A review of job stress literature presents that various job stressors (e. g., task characteristics, role characteristics, organizational characteristics, career development, and relationships), moderators (e. g., locus of control, type A and B personality, social support, and demographics), and outcomes (e. g., perceived stress, job satisfaction, job commitment, organizational commitment, performance, turnover, and physiological symptoms) were used for a greater understanding of job stress.
This paper examined the relationship between job stressor and job satisfaction according to the general property of disabled workers. Role ambiguity, role conflict, and role overload were cast as the factors of job satisfaction to explore their relationship with the general property and type of disabled workers. The results revealed that role ambiguity had the strongest meaningful relationships with job satisfaction and role conflict, role overload had not shown the meaningful relationships with their Job satisfaction. The reason of this results seemed to be from the fact that the work type available or not available to disabled worker was determined beforehand according to their disability type. Finally, these findings provide a guidelines of efficiency human resource management and strategic development program for the disabled workers.

This study is aimed at analyzing the relationship between personal factors of radiological technologists and their job stressors. For this aim, a survey was conducted by means of 890 questionnaires from the middle of July to the end of August 2003 to the subjects of radiological technologists who are working for 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces across the country. The results of the survey could be summed up as follows: 1. The biggest stressor that affects a radiological technologist personally under the working situation turned out to be position, job satisfaction and physical symptom(p<0.001), while job satisfaction and physical symptom also played an important role in personal relationship(p<0.001). 2. In terms of job conflicts, colleagues, immediate seniors, job satisfaction and physical symptoms appeared to exercise great impact(p<0.001), As for job autonomy, age, position and job satisfaction were known to be heavily influential(p<0.001). 3. With regard to job load, job satisfaction and behavioral symptom turned out to have great influence while, in job stability, position and job satisfaction seemed to be immensely influential(p<0.001). The present study has a limit in that it covers only radiological technologists who are working at the 3rd reference hospitals but excludes those who are working at the first and second reference hospitals. The findings, however, are surely believed to be able to serve as basic data to improve the medical service quality as they will help reduce the stressors of and enhance mental and physical health for radiological technologists who play important roles as teammates with expertise in the medical field. These outcomes could also be referred to in future studies in this area.
The present study was conducted to analyze the causes of stress on the part of Korean radiological technologists depending on their working environments. For this purpose, 890 questionnaires were distributed to and collected from radiological technologists who were working at 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces of Korea during the period from the mid July to the end of August 2003. The collected data were compared between regions, divided into the capital, metropolitan, medium and small cities, whose results are as follows: 1. As factors affecting working conditions, drinking was found to exert more influence on radiological technologists in small- and medium-sized cities, while loyalty to immediate seniors and organizations was the one producing greater influence on them in metropolitan cities than other cities. Overall, position, job satisfaction and physical condition seemed to have a great effect on them (p<0.001).2. In terms of factors related to their roles, job satisfaction and physical condition played in general a greater role for radiological technologists (p<0.001). Immediate seniors and behavioral conducts were also found to have a lot influence on them (p<0.01).3. As for job conflicts, the kind of medical institutions seemed to exercise a great deal of impact on radiological technologists (p<0.05), while colleagues, immediate seniors, job satisfaction and physical conditions also produced a lot of influence on them as a whole (p<0.001).4. Regarding job autonomy, radiological technologists were found to have been less influenced by position in metropolitan cities and by immediate seniors in the capital city (p<0.01). As a whole, however, age and job satisfaction acted as decisive factors of influence on them (p<0.001). 5. Among factors related to job burden, gender played a bigger role for radiological technologists in metropolitan cities as the kind of medical institutions did in small- and medium-sized cities. Centrally, job satisfaction and behavioral conducts exercised a great impact on them (p<0.001).6. Job stability seemed to be more immensely linked to gender and physical conditions in metropolitan cities whereas position did more in the capital city. The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationships among frontline hotel employees' core-self evaluations (self-esteem, generalized self-evaluations, locus of control, and emotional stability) as personal resources, customer verbal aggression as a job stressor, and turnover intention as a job outcome. Data were gathered from a sample of frontline employees of 10 five-star hotels in Busan via self-administered questionnaires. A total number of 405 questionnaires were utilized. This study used structural equation modeling to verify the research model and hypotheses. As hypothesized, the results demonstrated that core-self evaluations reduced customer verbal aggression and turnover intention, and customer verbal aggression amplified turnover intention. Finally, practical implications were discussed in detail and limitations of the study and future research directions were also suggested.
Purpose - The purpose of this research is twofold; first, it attempts to categories customer demands into challenging and hindrance stressors, second, it investigates the effect of customer challenging stressors, hindrance stressors and customer resources on job satisfaction, emotional exhaustion and turnover intention of frontline employees. Research design, data, and methodology - A quantitative research method with an online survey was adopted to test the proposed hypotheses. Sample was collected from 186 frontline employees. And, structural equation model was conducted through AMOS 20.0 to verify the proposed hypotheses. Results - First, customer challenging stressors and customer resources positively affect job satisfaction. Second, customer hindrance stressors negatively affect job satisfaction and positively affect emotional exhaustion. Finally, job satisfaction negatively affects turnover intention whereas emotional exhaustion positively affects turnover intention of frontline employees. Contributions - In term of theoretical contributions, the current study categorized the customer demands into challenging and hindrance stressors and empirically tested the effect of challenging and hindrance stressors on emotional exhaustion, job satisfaction and turnover intention of frontline employees. Managerially, this study provides insights to the firm by highlighting the presence of challenging stressors and customer resources which have positive effect on the attitudes and behaviors of the frontline employees.
This study was designed to examine the extent of job-related stress and job satisfaction and factors affecting job satisfaction of educare center teachers. Special attention was given to the differences due to the various organizational types of educare centers. Two hundred and twenty two public and private educare center teachers of C city were drawn as samples of this study. Self-administered questionnaire method containing items (m job-related stress, Job satisfaction and socio-demographic background was employed and the data were analyzed with SPSSWlN using descriptive statistics, factor analysis and regression analysis. Findings suggested that the major job-related stresses were related to work experiences, working hours, and the number of on-the-job training opportunities. Work place characteristics such as the total number of children in the class, working hours and wage also affected the level of Job satisfaction. Additionally significant statistical differences were found on the job-related stress and the job satisfaction between teachers in public and private educare centers. In the question of the effect of job-related stress on the job satisfaction, job-related stress explained 12% of work-satisfaction, 33% of satisfaction related to the current working place. Accordingly it was possible to draw a conclusion that educare center teachers' job-related stresses. were not ascribed by personal characteristics but by work-related factors such a, poor administrative support low wage and the overwhelming task related stressors The main stressor of job satisfaction was poor administrative support. Differences on job-related stress and job satisfaction_between among teachers of public and private unit were distinctive throughout the study. These results, implicate that workshops are recommended to help diminish the job-related stress among educare center teachers. It is imperative that enhanced work benefits and improved working environment will in turn enhance the quality of services in educare centers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of job stress, depression and fatigue on sleep quality of care workers employed in long-term care facilities. Methods: The participants were 213 care workers who worked in 11 long-term care facilities. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression with using the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: We found that patient-related job stress was the greatest stressor among care workers' job stresses. A significant difference in sleep quality was observed according to the self-perceived health status of the care workers. The care workers' sleep quality was negatively correlated with job stress (r=-.16, p=.018), depression (r=-.31, p<.001) and fatigue (r=-.29, p<.001). The influencing factors of sleep quality were depression (${\beta}=-0.22$, p=.001) and fatigue (${\beta}=-0.15$, p=.047). Conclusion: It is necessary to improve the health status and sleep quality of care workers by developing and applying health promotion programs to reduce the depression and fatigue of the care worker. This will ultimately improve the quality of service care for the patients.
