Objectives: This cross-sectional study was performed in the Dental School of Prince of Songkla University to ascertain noise exposure of dentists, dental assistants, and laboratory technicians. A noise spectral analysis was taken to illustrate the spectra of dental devices. Methods: A noise evaluation was performed to measure the noise level at dental clinics and one dental laboratory from May to December 2010. Noise spectral data of dental devices were taken during dental practices at the dental services clinic and at the dental laboratory. A noise dosimeter was set following the Occupational Safety and Health Administration criteria and then attached to the subjects' collar to record personal noise dose exposure during working periods. Results: The peaks of the noise spectrum of dental instruments were at 1,000, 4,000, and 8,000 Hz which depended on the type of instrument. The differences in working areas and job positions had an influence on the level of noise exposure (p < 0.01). Noise measurement in the personal hearing zone found that the laboratory technicians were exposed to the highest impulsive noise levels (137.1 dBC). The dentists and dental assistants who worked at a pedodontic clinic had the highest percent noise dose (4.60 ${\pm}$ 3.59%). In the working areas, the 8-hour time-weighted average of noise levels ranged between 49.7-58.1 dBA while the noisiest working area was the dental laboratory. Conclusion: Dental personnel are exposed to noise intensities lower than occupational exposure limits. Therefore, these dental personnel may not experience a noise-induced hearing loss.
Purpose: This study aimed to derive clues for the franchise industry to overcome difficulties such as various legal regulations and social responsibility demands and to continuously develop by analyzing the research trends related to franchises published in Korea. Research design, data and methodology: As a result of searching for 'franchise' in ScienceON, abstracts were collected from papers published in domestic academic journals from 1994 to June 2021. Keywords were extracted from the abstracts of 1,110 valid papers, and after preprocessing, keyword analysis, TF-IDF analysis, and topic modeling using LDA algorithm, along with trend analysis of the top 20 words in TF-IDF by year group was carried out using the R-package. Results: As a result of keyword analysis, it was found that businesses and brands were the subjects of research related to franchises, and interest in service and satisfaction was considerable, and food and coffee were prominently studied as industries. As a result of TF-IDF calculation, it was found that brand, satisfaction, franchisor, and coffee were ranked at the top. As a result of LDA-based topic modeling, a total of 12 topics including "growth strategy" were derived and visualized with LDAvis. On the other hand, the areas of Topic 1 (growth strategy) and Topic 9 (organizational culture), Topic 4 (consumption experience) and Topic 6 (contribution and loyalty), Topic 7 (brand image) and Topic 10 (commercial area) overlap significantly. Finally, the trend analysis results for the top 20 keywords with high TF-IDF showed that 10 keywords such as quality, brand, food, and trust would be more utilized overall. Conclusions: Through the results of this study, the direction of interest in the franchise industry was confirmed, and it was found that it was necessary to find a clue for continuous growth through research in more diverse fields. And it was also considered an important finding to suggest a technique that can supplement the problems of topic trend analysis. Therefore, the results of this study show that researchers will gain significant insights from the perspectives related to the selection of research topics, and practitioners from the perspectives related to future franchise changes.
This study used a qualitative research method to derive meaning through intensive interviews on stress, focusing on the subjective perceptions and experiences of college students about COVID-19. The study participants were 12 college students enrolled at University Y in Gyeonggi-do, and the questionnaires were 'How has your daily life changed due to COVID-19?' and 'What changes have you made in your environment due to COVID-19?', 'What kind of comfort/inconvenience did you experience due to COVID-19?'As a result of analyzing the stress experienced by university students due to COVID-19, the stress factors were found to be four types: concerns about academic quality, anxiety about disconnection from social relationships, burden due to decrease in jobs (part-time jobs), and health and safety anxiety. The results of this study, it seems that the university's efforts to optimize online classes, seeking social relationships through non-face-to-face, preparing policies for job creation for college students, and health management measures due to COVID-19 should be discussed.

This study is a descriptive research of paramedic students who could be exposed to blood and body fluids during the clinical practicum to analyze the risk factors. From June 1 to June 30, 2018, 172 paramedic students who attended the University in Jeolla-do region were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The general characteristics of subjects, the exposure level of blood and body fluids, and etc were obtained for frequency and percentage analysis. The study found that 72.7 percent of students had experience to blood or body fluids exposure during the clinical practicum. Except for any needle injury, 70.4 percent of student were exposed to blood or body fluids. 28.8 percent of them which was the highest percentage of injection injury were exposed during the venous blood draw. 36.5 percent of exposure were related to wound dressings which was the highest percentage related to clinical procedures. 71.2 percent of students mentioned that they did not report this exposure because 68.5 percent students thought that it has no danger. According to the survey on hepatitis B, 50.6% of students had antibodies, but 31.8 percent of students did not confirm that the antibodies were formed. Even though paramedic students do practical training in a hazardous environment with repeated exposure to blood and body fluids due to the nature of job characteristics, the systemic infection control education program is insufficient. In order to prevent exposure and to protect paramedic students who do practical training with patients, it is necessary to make more systematic and active efforts in the continuous monitoring and the preventive education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between ethical dilemma, end-of-life care stress and burnout of the nurses in long term care hospitals and descriptive correlations to identify factors affecting burnout. The subjects of study were 143 nurses who are working in the seven long-term-care hospitals in G-do and had more than one experience of end-of-life nursing care, understood the research items and agreed to participate in the research. In this study, it was founded that end-of-life care stress, age, job position, and end-of-life care education were found to be influential factors affecting burnout of the nurses in long-term care hospitals. As a result, age and occupation, end - of - life nursing education, and end - of - life stress were found to be factors affecting nurses' burnout. Therefore, in order to prevent and alleviate burnout of long-term care hospital nurses, a systematic intervention program that manages stress related to end-of-life nursing care is needed.
The objective of this study is to find out what factors affect the persons with disabilities who want to seek jobs again and to propose the policy for the re-employment support for the persons with disabilities based on the results of analysis. The disabled employment panel data were analyzed for this study. This study used a logistic regression analysis. This study tells that factors which affects the re-employment of the persons with disabilities are gender, education, chronic disease status, and the help of others in daily life status, employment discrimination experience, and the type of employment. From the gender perspective, whereas men are in favor of re-employment in the clerical work, women are in favor of re-employment if they don't have a spouse or receive employment services. Through these analysis, it is proposed that policies for the specific female employment support and for the promotion of the entry into decent jobs, measures for the elimination of job discrimination and linkages with the employment of the persons with disabilities and medical/health sector.
Purpose: In recent years, efforts to improve the dental curriculum in South Korea have focused on a shift to outcome-based dental education based on core competencies in dentistry. So far, the field has seen various studies on the development of competencies, performance evaluation, and the importance of outcome-based education, but few studies have documented the development of such an education model. Therefore, this study develops an OBE curriculum for dentistry education and describes the development procedures and then finally this study intends to share our experience to other dental schools. Methods: This study introduces the development procedure and details of an outcome-based education model for dental education and presents the five stages of an outcome-based education model. In this study, 3 educational experts and 2 dental professor composed the TFT and developed the research method according to the ADDIE model. Step 1 is to conduct quantitative / qualitative research analysis through some survey and interview, Step 2 is to do a survey to revise competency, Step 3 is to develop a materials through consensus and participation of our professors of the dental school, Step 4 is to do some workshops, Step 5 is to prepare and conduct a outcome evaluation. Results: Step 1 is a required process for developing an educational model: the Job Analysis & Need Analysis stage. Step 2 is the Development of Outcome and Competency stage, which involves revising the competencies that are the basis of the curriculum. Step 3 is developing competency descriptions, competency levels, and evaluation criteria?the Development of Outcomes and Evaluation Standards. Step 4 is the Development of Milestones for Curriculum and Instructional Strategy, which examines the curriculum's problems and analyzes the improvements of each course. Step 5 is the Evaluating Outcomes stage, conducted based on the competencies specified by the target dental school. Conclustion: The model presented here can serve as a foundation for outcome-based education in other dental schools.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate dental hygiene students' recognition of safety management and phantom practice in dental radiology. Methods: The study subjects were 409 students in six regions who completed a dental radiology practice course and had on-job experience more than once. After understanding the study purpose and contents, they answered a questionnaire. The main jobs in dental radiology were analyzed. Results: As a result, regarding the most difficult aspects of dental radiology practice, "it is impossible to irradiate the mouth directly with X-rays" was the most common response (29.1%). Regarding the question "what is the main role of students in dental radiology practice?", the answer "it is shooting simulations using phantoms" accounted for 59.7% of responses. The most difficult regions in bisecting and paralleling radiography with a phantom were found to be the maxillary & mandibular molars and premolars. The most difficult technique was reported to be locating XCP maintenance to fit inside the mouth for both molars and premolars. The most difficult region to perform bitewing radiography using the phantom was the molar region (2.87), and the most difficult to perform occlusal radiography approaches were maxillary anterior general occlusal radiography (2.92) and mandibular cross-sectional occlusal radiography (3.00). Conclusions: The most technically difficult point in bitewing and occlusal radiography was the correct positioning of the vertical and horizontal angles. Radiography practice was considered to be more effective than previous mutual practice in terms of analysis of anatomical structures and patient treatment methods. Therefore, it will be necessary to improve policy regarding dental radiography practice at the department of dental hygienics and revise the necessary laws and regulations.
This study examines the extent to which the differences in perceptions regarding principles of journalism and political identity between journalists and their news organizations are related to journalists' psychological burnout. To understand this, this study analyzes the secondary data of the 2017 South Korean journalists' consciousness conducted by the Korean Press Foundation. Psychological burnout consists of three subdimensions of MBI-GS: cynicism, lack of professional efficacy, and exhaustion. The differences in perceptions regarding the principles of journalism between journalists and their affiliated news organizations is measured by the differences in each of the seven reporting principles. This study found that the larger the difference in the perception of objectivity between journalists and their affiliated news organizations, the more likely they were to experience cynicism, lack of professional efficacy, and exhaustion. The greater the difference in political identity between journalists and their own organization, the more likely they were to have greater cynicism and exhaustion.
Objectives : The study was aimed to analyze the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) test-takers' favor of entering Korean Medicine college and their perception toward the Korean Medicine. The study will present information that can be used for university administrator and in medical education field. Methods : A questionnaire was developed, comprising categories about the favor of entering Korean Medicine college, the experience and reason of receiving Korean Medicine healthcare treatment, and the perception toward the Korean Medicine. Face validity and content validity of the developed questionnaire were tested before survey. Then the questionnaires were distributed to 168 CSAT test-takers. Results : The most positive reason of entering Korean Medicine college is the characteristic of job, while the negative one is of the characteristic of the discipline. Respondents who answered as positive toward Korean Medicine are more than those who answered as negative. The most positive reason of receiving Korean Medicine healthcare treatment and perceiving Korean Medicine positively is because of its medical effectiveness. The most negative reason is responded as et cetera in both categories. Conclusions : The results of the survey may indicate that by promoting recent research progresses in Korean Medicine and benefits from choosing a career as medical professions, more CSAT test-takers will have positive attitude toward Korean Medicine college entrance. Also by promoting the medical effectiveness of Korean medicine to CSAT test-takers, more CSAT test-takers will receive or have positive attitude toward Korean Medicine healthcare service.
