  • The effect of Fe and BO3 doping on structure, thermal, and electrical properties of Li1+xFexTi2-x(PO4)3-y(BO3)y (x = 0.2, 0.5)-based glass and glass ceramics was investigated. In addition, their crystallization behavior during sintering and ionic conductivity were also investigated in terms of sintering temperature. FT-IR and XPS results indicated that Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions in Li1+xFexTi2-x(PO4)3-y(BO3)y glass worked as a network modifier (FeO6 octahedra) and also as a network former (FeO4 tetrahedra). In the case of the glass with low substitution of BO3, boron formed (PB)O4 network structure, while boron preferred BO3 triangles or B3O3 boroxol rings with increasing the BO3 content owing to boic oxide anomaly, which can result in an increased non-bridging oxygen. The glass transition temperature (GTT) and crystallization temperature (CT) was lowered as the BO3 substitution was increased, while Fe2+ lowered the GTT and raised the CT. The ionic conductivity of Li1+xFexTi2-x(PO4)3-y(BO3)y glass ceramics were 8.85×10-4 and 1.38×10-4S/cm for x = 0.2 and 0.5, respectively. The oxidation state of doped Fe and boric oxide anomaly were due to the enhanced lithium ion conductivity of glass ceramics.

  • Single crystals of Yttrium Calcium Oxyborate (YCOB) doped with different concentrations of Er3+ and Yb3+ ions were growth by Czochralski method. High qualities of crystals in morphology and transparency were obtained . Analysis on crystal structure and lattice parameters were performed by X-ray diffraction method. It was found that congruent melting composition is YCA4.2O1.2(BO3)3. Absorption and fluorescence properties of grown crystals were also reported.

  • The properties for self-frequency doubling (SFD) is unique phenomena for a small number of special single crystals. It is known that there are serious limitations to vary the concentration of active ions, for example high doping of active ions from 1 to 50 atomic %, in nonlinear materials. Until now, the Nd:YAl$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$ (YAB) and Nd:(Ce,Gd)Sc$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$ (CSB) crystals with high doping rates are well studied for the application of SFD purpose. They have much useful SFD properties, but also have big problems in crystal growth. In case of YAB crystal, it can be grown by solution melt method with very low growth rates and easy occurrence of inclusions. In case of CSB crystal, it has optically heterogeneity problems because of disarrangement of ions in huntite structure [1]. These problems make above crystals not so attractive for optical applications. Some popular nonlinear materials, such as LiNbO$_3$(LN), KTiOPO$_4$(KTP), LiB$_3$O$_{5}$ (LBO) crystals, are impossible to substitute by Rare Earth activators because of their crystallo-chemical problems of structure. When we dope active ions with the requisite concentrations for laser generation, it results in decreasing of optical quality of crystals or destroying of acentrosymmetric structure. (omitted)d)

  • Botulinum toxin type A (BoNT/A) has been proven to be a safe and effective treatment for wrinkles in human. As well as the anti-wrinkle effects, the anti-pruritic effect of BoNT/A has been revealed from several researches for new therapy. The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-pruritic effect of BoNT/A against histamine-induced pruritus on canine skin. Five clinically healthy beagles were included in the study. All dogs were received 0.05 ml (5 Unit) of BoNT/A on the right dorsal thoracic region as an experiment and the same volume of saline solution was injected on the left dorsal thoracic region as a control, respectively. Intradermal histamine injections were performed four times (before treatment and days 1, 3 and 7 after BoNT/A injection). The severity of pruritus, the diameter and thickness of wheal, the erythema index and cutaneous temperature were assessed. The severity of pruritus was reduced on BoNT/A treated sides, compared with saline treated sides (p < 0.05). BoNT/A decreased wheal size, in both diameter and thickness (p < 0.05). Although, erythema index of both sides were increased after first histamine injection, BoNT/A treated sides showed the low-value as compared with saline treated sides. Cutaneous temperature was decreased significantly on BoNT/A treated sides. These results indicates that BoNT/A reduce histamine-induced pruritus on canine skin and suggested a possibility of application of BoNT/A for local intractable dermatologic problem in dogs.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop education programs for effective education of Jeong-gan-bo. Jeong-gan-bo is a unique piece of music made during King Sejong's reign. Starting in the third grade elementary school, Jeong-gan-bo begins to develop. If you fail to understand Jeongganbo in lower grades, you often give up scores of music in a more detailed and complicated manner. This is why we need a customized education program for the first time in lower grades. For this purpose, the basic process of understanding the Jeongganbo is understood to be played as a traditional play. This study consists of the elementary school the 3rd grade scenario. This study consists of the second - grade class scenarios for the 3rd grade elementary school students, the curriculum is centered on the curriculum, which is currently in the 3rd grade curriculum, curriculum in 2009. The program learns to play the rhythm of the 1st phase, the code of the 2nd stage of Jeong-dan, and play the rhythm through play through play. Step 1 is not only visually recognizable, but also a direct sign of the code. The second phase consists of the basic composition of Jeongganbo, through the basic composition of Jangdan, and learns the exact rhythm of Jeongganbo. The results of the study can be divided into meaningful meaning in terms of educational significance and educational content development in terms of educational significance. The methods used to understand the exercises and play games were effective in understanding the contents of Jeongganbo, and also meaningful to the role of traditional music in the context of various programs.
