Application of Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Predicting Hardness of AlSi10Mg Alloy Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion (레이저 분말 베드 용융법으로 제조된 AlSi10Mg 합금의 경도 예측을 위한 설명 가능한 인공지능 활용)

  • In this study, machine learning models are proposed to predict the Vickers hardness of AlSi10Mg alloys fabricated by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). A total of 113 utilizable datasets were collected from the literature. The hyperparameters of the machine-learning models were adjusted to select an accurate predictive model. The random forest regression (RFR) model showed the best performance compared to support vector regression, artificial neural networks, and k-nearest neighbors. The variable importance and prediction mechanisms of the RFR were discussed by Shapley additive explanation (SHAP). Aging time had the greatest influence on the Vickers hardness, followed by solution time, solution temperature, layer thickness, scan speed, power, aging temperature, average particle size, and hatching distance. Detailed prediction mechanisms for RFR are analyzed using SHAP dependence plots.

  • We describe an optimal alignment method for improving accuracy of dynamic spectroscopic polarimeter based on monolithic polarizing interferometer. The dynamic spectroscopic polarimeter enables real-time measurements of spectral ellipsometric parameters by using a spectral carrier frequency concept. However, the non-polarizing beam splitter used in the monolithic polarizing interferometer cannot maintain the polarization state perfectly due to phase retardation caused by optical anisotropic characteristics of the non-polarizing beam splitter, resulting in degraded measurement accuracy. The effect of the beam splitter can be minimized through optimal alignment of the polarizers used in the polarizing interferometer and the analyzer. We demonstrate how much the proposed alignment method can enhance the measurement accuracy by comparing with previous alignment approach.

  • Purpose: An evaluation of Uzbekistan's steps towards competitiveness for FDI globally is presented in this paper. Specifically, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the case of Uzbekistan, and to determine the strategies that can be implemented to increase the competitiveness in attracting foreign investment. Research design, data and methodology: To investigate the FDI environment and identify effective strategies, Global RPM and QSPM analyses were conducted in addition to in-depth interviews with experts. In particular, this study uses the method of Global RPM analysis to make a comprehensive evaluation and analysis on globalization, rationality, and professionalism and morality dimensions of FDI in Uzbekistan. Results: According to the analysis, the conditions of political situation, financial stability, legal frameworks, as well as economic environment of the country play a significant role in bringing in FDIs from abroad. Moreover, based on the results, Uzbekistan scored lowest on globalization, indicating that the country has a low level of integration and openness to the global economy and society. Conclusions: Uzbekistan can boost its productive capacity and GDP growth with FDI, but it has to overcome many structural and logistical obstacles. Furthermore, adhering to the chosen strategies, policymakers can leverage FDI to stimulate economic growth, leading to the generation of new jobs and expanded opportunities in Uzbekistan.

Seroprevalence of major respiratory diseases of swine farms in Jeonbuk State (전북지역 양돈장의 돼지 호흡기 질병 유병률 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate seroprevalence of porcine respiratory diseases including porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), porcine circovirus-2 (PCV-2), Mycoplasma hyopneumonia (MH), Pasteurella multocisa A (PMA), Haemophilus parasuis (HP), Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia type 2 (APP2), and Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia type 5 (APP5) in Jeonbuk state by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Total 5488 samples collected from four breeding pig farms and 55 commercial pig farms were tested. The overall seroprevalence of PCV-2, APP2, APP5, PMA, and HP was higher in breeding pig farms than in commercial pig farms, with higher antibody positivity rate (more than 97%) in breeding pig farms. Seroprevalence of MH or PRRS were 68.4% and 48.7% or 79.4% and 58.2% in commercial pig farms or breeding pig farms, respectively. The overall seroprevalence of the porcine respiratory diseases tested in this study varied depending on the age group of pigs, with the 40-day-old pig group showing the lowest seroprevalence and mean S/P titer ratio.

  • The rational synthesis of efficient transitional metal phosphides (TMPs) could revolutionize green hydrogen production via water splitting. Hydrogen, with the highest energy density among fuels, stands out as an excellent alternative to address environmental issues and ensure sustainable future energy generation. However, the limited availability of state-of-the-art electrocatalysts like Pt/C and RuO2, used for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), respectively, necessitates the development of cost-effective and non-noble electrocatalysts for green hydrogen production. In this context, we present a novel heterointerface-modulated heterostructure design comprising ultrathin nanosheets of a 3D Co2P/VP heterostructure on a conductive nickel foam substrate. This heterostructure demonstrates remarkably low overpotentials of 96 mV for HER and 237 mV for OER at 10 mA cm-2. The material's robust electrochemical kinetics are further evidenced by low Tafel slopes of 68.28 mV dec-1 and 116.54 mV dec-1, respectively.

  • Invasive or non-invasive reduction of fractures could be conducted as treatments of traumatic maxillofacial bone fractures. But when suboptimal reduction or malunion of maxillofacial bone fracture occurs, malocclusion could occur as a result of the lost relationship of the mandible and midface. This malocclusion is called post-traumatic malocclusion and orthognathic surgery, orthodontic treatment, selective grinding and prosthetic reconstruction are suggested as treatments for post-traumatic malocclusion after securement of stable TMJ. Stable TMJ is essential for occlusal rehabilitation to prevent occlusal change and relapse of malocclusion. Centric relation and adapted centric posture are suggested as start points of occlusal rehabilitation because they are most stable TMJ position. This case report presents a case in which post-traumatic malocclusion occurred after reduction of panfacial fracture. To rehabilitate full mouth occlusion, selective grinding and prosthetic reconstruction of implant supported fixed prostheses were conducted in centric relation and showed satisfying results in functional and occlusal aspects.

A comparative study of impression methods using stock tray and intraoral scanner in a completely edentulous patient with an atypical arch shape: a case report (비정형적인 악궁을 가진 완전 무치악 환자에서 기성 트레이와 구강 스캐너를 이용한 인상 채득 방법의 비교 연구: 증례 보고)

  • In complete denture fabrication, accurate preliminary impressions are crucial for obtaining an accurate final impression. However, it can be challenging in cases of atypical arch shapes. This case report compares diagnostic casts made with a stock tray and an intraoral scanner (IOS) in a patient with an atypical arch shape. A 58-year-old edentulous male patient with long, narrow, atypical arches was referred to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department for complete denture fabrication. Compared to the diagnostic cast obtained using IOS with adequately captured anatomical parameters, the primary model obtained using a stock tray showed prominent overextended flanges on the labial and buccal sides of the maxillary arch and less prominent overextended flanges in the mandibular arch with pressure spots in the posterior palatal seal area. The custom tray fabricated from such a model required additional adjustment resulting in increased chair time during the final impression procedure.

A survey on diseases to improve productivity in 1-day-old chicks of broiler farms (농가 생산성 증대를 위한 육계 초생추 질병 실태조사)

  • Samples collected from 15 broiler farms(47 flocks, 920 1-day-old chicks) during March to December, 2006, To survey serum antibody titers of NDV, IBDV and MG/MS, the antibodies of ND viruses were detected by HI test and ELISA, against antibodies of IBD viruses and MG/MS by ELISA. The antibody titers of NDV showed 6.4, HI and 6,968, ELISA, respectively. The rate to below protective antibody levels(${\ge}5$, HI and ${\ge}1,000$, ELISA) were 8%, HI, 5%, ELISA, specially, Baeksemi were 22%, HI, 14%, ELISA. The rate of positive by ELISA showed 99%(914/920). The ELISA titer of IBDV showed mean titer 3,890. The rate of positive were 93% (857/920), specially, Baeksemi were 84%. The ELISA titers of MG/MS showed mean titer 5,666. The rate of positive were 78% (715/920) and 100%, Abor-Acre, 97%, Baeksemi, respectively. The antibodies not detected from 18%, ELISA titers was varied from 500 to 20,000. At antimicrobial susceptibility of E coli, Staphylococcus spp and Salmonella spp isolated from 1-day-old chicks, E coli were susceptible to AmC, AM, NOR, SXT, ENR, CIP, Staphylococcus spp were susceptible to AmC, SXT, AM, ENR and Salmonella spp were susceptible to AM, AmC, SXT and P.

Development of the Korean Form of the Premonitory Urge for Tics Scale: A Reliability and Validity Study

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Korean Form of the Premonitory Urge for Tics Scale (K-PUTS). Methods: Thirty-eight patients with Tourette's disorder who visited Jeonbuk National University Hospital were assessed with the K-PUTS. Together with the PUTS, the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS), the Children's Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS), the attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) rating scale (ARS), and the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) were implemented to evaluate concurrent and discriminant validity. Results: The internal consistency of items on the PUTS was high, with a Cronbach's α of 0.79. The test-retest reliability of the PUTS, which was administered at 2 weeks to 2 months intervals, showed high reliability with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.60. There was a significant positive correlation between the overall PUTS score and the YGTSS score, showing concurrent validity. There was no correlation between the PUTS, CY-BOCS, and ASRS scores, demonstrating the discriminant validity of the PUTS. Factor analysis for construct validity revealed three factors: "presumed functional relationship between the tic and the urge to tic," "the quality of the premonitory urge," and "just right phenomena." Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the K-PUTS is a reliable and valid scale for rating premonitory urge of tics.

Consoramides A-C, New Zwitterionic Alkaloids from the Fungus Irpex consors

  • In our ongoing search for new secondary metabolites from fungi, a basidiomycete fungus Irpex consors was selected for mycochemical investigation, and three new zwitterionic alkaloids (1-3) and five known compounds (4-8) were isolated from the culture broth (16 l) of I. consors. The culture filtrate was fractionated by a series of column chromatography including Diaion HP-20, silica gel, and Sephadex LH-20, Sep-Pak C18 cartridge, medium pressure liquid chromatography (MPLC), and high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) to yield eight compounds (1-8). The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated by the interpretation of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HR-MS). Their antioxidant and antibacterial activities were examined. The zwitterionic structures of three new sesquiterpene alkaloids (1-3) were determined together with five known compounds identified as stereumamide E (4), stereumamide G (5), stereumamide H (6), stereumamide D (7), and sterostrein H (8). This is the first report of the zwitterionic alkaloids in the culture broth of I. consors. Three new zwitterionic alkaloids were named as consoramides A-C (1-3).
