The morphological characteristics of the Korean Scopolia japonica Maxim., commonly known as 'Mi-chi-gwang-i-pul' in Korean, were re-evaluated in comparison with results from previous research, while the distribution map was formulated according to existing flora and voucher specimens. The result of the re-evaluation has shown that there are some distinctive discrepancies compared to the previous reports of some characteristics such as the color of the basal stem, numbers of lateral veins, apex shape of calyx and corolla including the color of corolla. The Korean Scopolia japonica Maxim is found throughout Korea except Jeju-do province. The intra-specific species such as S. parviflora (Dunn.) Nakai, S. lutescens Y.N. Lee and S. kwangdokensis Y.N. Lee were treated as synonyms of S. japonica Maxim. in this research.
The branchiobdellidan species Holtodrilus truncatus (Liang, 1963) is reported for the first time in Korea. The genus Holtodrilus Gelder and Brinkhurst, 1990 is monotypic within the family Xironodrilidae, and the genus and family of this species are also new to the Korean fauna. The branchiobdellidan specimens were collected from the exoskeletons of the freshwater atyid shrimp, Neocaridina sp., sampled from the 'Andeok Valley', Jeju-do Province, South Korea. Holtodrilus truncatus is characterized by its terete body form, 7/7 dental formula (with a large medial tooth and three pairs of smaller lateral teeth), and no trunk appendages. In addition, we determined a partial sequence of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) gene as a DNA barcode marker for H. truncatus. The present study is the first record of the branchiobdellidan occurrence on a non-crayfish host (shrimp) in Korea. To date, seven species (four genera in three families) of branchiobdellidans have been reported in the Korean fauna.
Scolelepis (Parascolelepis) papillosa (Okuda, 1937), originally described from a single incomplete individual from Jeju Island in Korea, was collected from the intertidal sandflats of Soan Island (Jeollanam-do province) in Korea. The examined specimens of S. (P.) papillosa agree well with the original description in having the papillae on the basal sheath of the palps, presence of occipital antenna, absence of notochaetae in chaetiger 1, branchiae completely fused with notopodial postchaetal lamellae at the anterior chaetigers, and neuropodial hooded hooks appearing from chaetiger 16. In this study, the sequences of partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI), 16S ribosomal DNA (16S rDNA), and the nuclear 18S ribosomal DNA (18S rDNA) of the species were determined. We also provide the detailed description and illustrations on this species based on the complete specimens newly collected in this study.

The purpose of this study was to compare the motivation factors between two groups: Chinese and Japanese tourists in Jeju-do. Also, this study offered an integrated approach to attempts to extend the theoretical and empirical research evidence on causal relationships of each group among motivation factors, perceived value, satisfaction, and intention to revisit and finally, the result of path analysis was compared. The results indicated that Chinese tourists' perceived value was positively affected by tourists' convenience(i.e. reservation system and tour guide) and their cultural experience had an influence on tourists' satisfaction significantly. On the other hand, Japanese tourists' satisfaction was positively affected by tourists' convenience and their perceived value significantly influenced on tourists' intention to revisit. The findings of this study can be used as a marketing strategy for each tourist group.

Recently the navigation service and LBS (Location based Services) using map supports much information services on mobile terminal. Also Internet Web sites support user much information. But, the user has the difficulty for acquiring the service and the various information based on map because of searching the many Internet sites. Accordingly, this paper supports a convergence information service model of various culture, education, tourism, sport and traffic for accessing synthesizing information based on map. And we design and implement this model using 공개 API. We present a convergence information service model of culture, tourism, sport and bus line information form tour destination and cultural place of Jeju province using the model. Additionally, we develop this service model using apache web server on Linux environment, PHP and JavaScript, MySQL database and Map 공개 API. As this service model supports a convenience action of culture and tourism for Jeju islanders and tourists.

The time for form removal is an important factor for ensuring the safety and economical efficiency of concrete structures, because it affects the quality, period, and cost of construction. Although local specifications suggest the form curing time, there is a problem of low quality of concrete due to early removing of form. This is because they do not fully understand effect of curing condition, and they want to shorten construction period in the field. Therefore, this research evaluates the effect of curing condition according to the time for form removal by testing specimen. As a result, the concrete compressive strength at the age of 28 days decreased about 40% in the condition of form removal after 12 hours, while the strength in the condition of form removal after 28 days decreased about 7%. Finally, this paper suggests an estimating equation for the concrete compressive strength due to the time for form removal considering various curing temperatures as equivalent ages. The proposed equation can be used in the field for evaluating the strength after form removal.
To identify the flora of the vascular plant on Chujado Island in Chuja-myeon, Jeju-si, Jeju Province, Korea, eleven field surveys were conducted between April to September of 2013 and from May to September of 2018. The results of the surveys identified 558 taxa, with 97 families, 311 genera, 481 species, two subspecies, 65 varieties, and ten forms of vascular plants on Chujado Island. Of the 558 taxa identified, seven were endemic species and eight were rare plants according to the Korea Forest Service. Furthermore, 109 of the taxa identified were from floristic environments, while 62 were considered to be naturalized plants, with three of these considered to be invasive and causes of ecosystem disturbances. The highest degree of similarity among the plants from seven sites adjacent to Chujado Island was found on Saengil Island, at 51.7%.
The flora of vascular plants in Sumeunmulbaengdui wetland located in Hallasan National Park was surveyed 9 times from September, 2010 to May, 2014. This survey resulted in 236 taxa in total composed of 202 species, 2 subspecies, 27 varieties and 5 forms of 148 genera under 69 families. They were categorized by their life forms into 8 groups of 37 megaphanerophytes, 26 nanophanerophytes, 2 epiphytes, 3 chamaephytes, 84 hemicryptophytes, 33 geophytes, 21 hydrophytes, 30 therophytes. Among them, 10 taxa of Korean endemic plants and 9 taxa of rare and endangered plants were included. In addition, the floristic regional indicator plants were 43 taxa comprised of 3 taxa of grade V, 7 taxa of grade IV, 12 taxa of grade III, 8 taxa of grade II and 13 taxa of grade I. 2 species of alien plants, Erechtites hieracifolia Raf. and Taraxacum officinale Weber were found. Sustainable interest and protective measures to Sumeunmulbaengdui wetland are required, since this area is comparatively larger in size and higher in plant diversity than other Ramsar wetlands in Jeju-do Province.
This study was conducted to eliminate Myocastor coypusMolina, 1782 (Nutria) from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea. Habitat identification and eradication were carried out from September to November 2013, and a survey was carried out until June 2022 to check whether the eradication was successful. The habitat was identified with unmanned cameras, interviews, and literature surveys, and the capture was performed using the trapping method with food to attract nutria to the habitat area. The study area for the follow-up survey, which was set relatively wide considering nutria's home range, included wetlands and rivers within 4.0 km2 of the habitat area (eradication area). As a result, nutria's habitat was confirmed only at Songdang Ranch, Songdang-ri, of Jeju Island, with traces of habitat (footprints, excrement, and burrows) confirmed in waterways and ponds within the pasture. Eight individuals were captured, including four females, three males, and one individual in too advanced a state of decay to identify the sex. The follow-up survey thoroughly investigated the habitat and its surroundings, focusing on three areas with permanent water, Seongeup Reservoir, Cheonmi Creek, and Molsuni Pond, but no signs of habitat were identified. Therefore, it is determined that nutria inhabiting Jeju Island has been completely eradicated. It is believed that the successful eradication of nutria in the Jeju Special Autonomous Region was possible due to a synergy between 1) the eradication of nutria at the beginning of the settlement phase through rapid capture after confirming the nutria habitat and 2) the delayed expansion period because of rare presence of wetlands, where water is constantly stagnant, on Jeju Island. These results imply that quickly identifying the ecological characteristics of the species and preventing disturbances before they or at the beginning of the ecological disturbance through control and eradication at the initial stage of settlement before the expansion stage is an effective measure to cope with the influx of alien species.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of bullying victimization on depressive symptoms in adolescents, and to determine how depression depends on resilience. Methods : A total of 4,160 students were recruited, from middle and high schools in Goheung, Yeosu, and the Jangheung area of Jeollanam-do Province. All participants completed self-report questionnaires, that included demographic variables, the Beck Depression inventory (BDI) the School Bullying Self-Rating Questionnaire (SBSRQ), and the Resilience Test (RT). Results : Prevalence of depression was 30.3%. A total of 220 (5.3%) students were evaluated likely to be bullied and 45 (1.1%) students were evaluated very likely to be bullied. Depressive symptoms positively correlated with bullying victimization. Depressive symptoms and resilience, bullying victimization and resilience negatively correlated. Results from regression analyses indicated that, while controlling for a range of demographic variables, resilience moderated the association between bullying victimization and depressive symptoms. Conclusion : Based on the results, professionals must consider resilience for treatment to reduce depression in adolescents of bullying victimization.
