A Web-based Microcontroller Remote Laboratory for Sharing Resources (자원공유를 위한 웹기반 마이크로콘트롤러 원격 실험실)

  • There have been a large number of trials of the experimental education in engineering using virtual laboratories implemented in virtual space, namely on the Web. Although virtual education is regarded as an effective educational means that overcomes the limit of time and space and bring high teaming effects, the problem of lack of reality must be solved. The present study proposed and implemented a real-time remote laboratory as a solution for the problem of lack of reality in virtual education. The remote laboratory provides functions with which learners can perform experiments by remote-controlling circuits and equipment related to experiments and practices on the Web and gets data and image information, so through it learners can make realistic experiments at any time and in any place. The remote laboratory module based on Internet open sources such as JAVA Web start technology, FTP technology and Telnet technology in server-client environment can be implemented at low cost, and is effectively applicable to engineering experiment education in various areas related to real-time hardware control.

  • 정보 기술의 발달로 문헌정보의 양이 증가하고 있지만 정확하고 빠른 정보를 지역적으로 분산된 서지정보 데이터베이스에서 찾기에 이미 개발된 방식으로는 시간이 많이 걸린다. 현재 사용중인 텔넷(telnet)을 통한 방식이나. 웹/CGI 기술을 이용한 방식은 문헌정보가 존재하는 각각의 서버를 사용자가 한번에 하나씩 접속하여 검색을 해야 하므로 검색시간이 많이 걸릴 뿐 아니라, 사용자는 각 서버마다 상이한 검색방법을 익혀야 한다. 최근에 이러한 단점들을 개선하기 위해 한곳에서 종합적인 서지 및 본문정보검색을 하는 통합 검색시스템이 중앙 집중형 시스템을 모델로 하여 구축되고 있으나 이 방식 역시, 자료의 불일치성, 시스템 공장과 과부하등 여러 문제점들을 내포하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제들의 해결책으로 분산 서지정보 통합검색시스템 DBIRS를 제안하고 구현한다. DBIRS는 웹 환경하에서 CORBA 기술과 Java언어를 이용함으로서, 단일 사용자 인터페이스로 병렬 복수질의를 수행하여 동시에 각 도서관에서 자료를 찾을 수 있다. 또한 객체를 기반으로 하는 표준 모델을 사용하여 소프트웨어의 개발과 확장을 가능하게 하고, 향후 멀티미디어 데이터나 웹과 같은 비 정형 데이터 시스템과의 통합을 쉽게 해준다.

A Web-based Education System with Remote Experimentation Environment for Embedded Systems Education (원격실험실 환경을 제공하는 임베디드 시스템 활용 교육을 위한 웹기반 교육 시스템)

  • In this paper, a web-based, advanced education system for embedded systems have been implemented, which provide students reality through remote controlled experiment environment when they conduct experiments through web, in addition to the creative multimedia contents. Students can use the server-side remote experiment environment through telnet client using Java technology to conduct a variety of experiments on the embedded system remotely. Our system can be used as economical education tools for expensive experiment equipments in shared fashion through web as well as effective and convenient ones for embedded systems anywhere and anytime when internet access is available, compensating for lack in reality of virtual educations.

Using Web as CAI in the Classroom of Information Age (정보화시대를 대비한 CAI로서의 Web 활용)

  • This study is an attempt to present a usage of the Web as CAI in the classroom and to give a direction to the future education in the face of information age. Characteristcs of information society, current curriculum, educational and teacher education are first analyzed in this article. The features of internet and 'Web are then summarized to present benefits of usage in the classroom as a CAI tool. The literature shows several characteristics of information society as follows : a technological computer, a provision and sharing of information, multi functional society, a participative democracy', an autonomy, a time value..A problem solving and 4 Cs(e.g., cooperation, copying, communication, creativity) are newly needed in this learning environment. The Internet is a large collection of networks that are tied together so that users can share their vast resources, a wealth of information, and give a key to a successful, efficient. individual study over a time and space. The 'Web increases an academic achievement, a creativity, a problem solving, a cognitive thinking, and a learner's motivation through an easy access to : documents available on the Internet, files containing programs, pictures, movies, and sounds from an FTP site, Usenet newsgroups, WAIS seraches, computers accessible through telnet, hypertext document, Java applets and other multimedia browser enhancements, and much more, In the Web browser will be our primary tool in searching for information on the Internet in this information age.
