It is defined in the internal standard of the NAK namely a NAK/G8-1:2013(v.1.) such as TIFF, PNG, PDF/A, JPEG 2000 as a Long-Term Preservation Master File for internal Standardization of Paper Archives in the Central Archives of Korea. This study reviewed the possibility that JPEG format could be a standard as a Long-Term Preservation Master File for internal Standardization of Paper Archives in the Central Archives of Korea. I pointed to the unique characteristics of JPEG file format and analysed and compared with TIFF format that is a representative master file. Through this study, I suggested that JPEG format also should be additionally included in the standard, as a master file, because it meets a qualification and functional requirements of master file and can guarantee the authenticity, reliability, integrity and usability. The meaning of this study is that JPEG format, be added to master file standard, can set up a environment that has lots of benefit in the domain of usability, compatibility to user as well as the authenticity, reliability, integrity.

본 논문에서는 JPEG 이미지파일을 효율적으로 검색하기 위해서 확장된 JPEG파일의 포맷을 제안하고자 한다. 확장된 JPEG 파일의 포맷 안에는 JPEG 파일을 검색할 때에 사용될 키워드에 대한 설명, 이미지가 만들어진 날짜, 만든 이, 해상도와 같은 이미지에 대한 정보가 들어가게 된다. 이렇게 확장된 포맷을 어떻게 검색에 이용하는지 보이기 위해서 검색 어플리케이션을 설계하였다. 이 어플리케이션은 사용자가 검색 시에 찾고자 하는 이미지의 정보 값들을 지정해 줌으로써 자시의 의도에 적합한 이미지를 보다 정확하게 찾을 수 있게 된다. 피리고 이렇게 찾아진 이미지들은 여러 이미지 정보값들에 따라 다양한 방식으로 정렬되어 보여 지도록 하였다. 또한 이렇게 확장된 JPEG 파일포맷에 사용자가 접근하여 정보를 변경하거나 추가할 수 있는 인터페이스도 제공하도록 하였다.

최근 일반인들에게 널리 보급되고 있는 DSLR 디지털 카메라로 촬영되는 정지 이미지는 범용의 JPEG 포맷이나 제조사별 독자적인 RAW 파일 포맷으로 저장매체에 저장된다. 이와 함께 PMP 등의 휴대용 멀티미디어 기기를 활용하여 촬영된 RAW 파일 포맷을 재생 및 확인하기 위한 요구가 증대되고 있지만, RAW 파일 포맷이 디지털 카메라 제조사별로 다르고, 해당 포맷에 대한 구체적인 정보가 공개되지 않는 이유로 대부분의 휴대용 멀티미디어 기기에서 RAW 파일 재생 기능을 지원하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 RAW 파일 포맷을 분석하여 향후 임베디드 멀티미디어 기기에서 모든 RAW 파일 포맷을 지원할 수 있는 라이브러리 구축을 위한 사전 작업을 수행하였다. Cannon의 CRW, CR2 포맷과 Nikon의 NEF 포맷을 분석한 결과를 설명한다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 RAW 파일 포맷에서 JPEG 파일음 성공적으로 추출하였다. MRW, PEF, DCR, DNG 등의 RAW 파일 포맷을 추가로 분석하여 모든 RAW 파일을 재생한 수 있는 임베디드 장비 및 PC용 RAW 파일 재생 라이브러리를 구축할 것이다.

개인용 미디어 단말로서 MP3 플레이어는 이제 음악 파일을 감상하기 위한 일상 생활에서 중요한 휴대 필수품이 되었으며 단순히 음악을 재생하는데 그치지 않고, 각종 정보들을 표시하기 위한 작은 화면이 부착되고 있으며 더 나아가 이미지 정보나 동영상을 표현할 수 있는 기능들이 추가 되고 있다. 이처럼 변화하는 멀티미디어 서비스에 발맞추어 MPEG 에서는 Multimedia Application Format (MAF) (ISO/IEC 23000) 라는 새로운 표준안을 제안하였다. MAF 표준안의 기본 방식은 산업 현장 및 사용자의 요구에 빠르게 부응하기 위해, 기존에 존재하는 표준안들을 결합시켜 새로운 멀티미디어 파일 포맷을 정립하였다. 그 첫 번째 결과물로서, 이미 널리 쓰이고 있는 MP3 파일 포맷에 새로운 기능을 추가하기 위한 Music Player MAF 포맷의 FDIS 가 제안되었다. Music Player MAF 는 MPEG-1 Audio Layer III(MP3) 와 MPEG-7 MDS 메타데이터 정보를 결합한 파일 포맷으로. 기존 ID3 태그에서 표현되는 정보 보다 훨씬 풍부한 메타데이터 정보와 더불어 선택적으로 하나의 JPEG 이미지를 포함한 형태로 이루어져 있다. 그러나, 현재의 파일 포맷은 시간이 고려되지 않은 하나의 JPEG 이미지만을 포함할 수 있기 때문에, 오늘날 사용자가 요구하는 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기에는 많은 한계점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Music Player MAF FDIS 에 제안된 세가지 형태의 Music Player MAF 파일 포맷에 관해 기술 한다. 복수의 JPEG 이미지 및 텍스트를 저장하기 위하여 각각의 파일 포맷이 갖는 문제점을 언급하고 하나 이상의 JPEG 이미지와 자막 정보를 MP3 음악 정보와 동기화 시켜 추가 할 수 있는 기능을 추가를 제안한다. 또한 제안된 파일 포맷을 쉽게 생성할 수 있도록 기존의 XMT-O 스키마를 기반으로 MAF 를 위하여 새롭게 MAF XMT 스키마를 정의하고 정의된 스키마를 기반으로 구현된 Music Player MAF 의 저작툴과 제안된 확장 뮤직 플래이어 MAF 을 위한 재생툴을 구현한다.

많은 양의 디지털 이미지들 중에서 원하는 이미지를 추출해 내기 위해서 JPEG이미지 파일 안에 들어있는 이미지에 대한 정보를 검색에 이용할 수 있을 것이다. Digital camera를 위해 고안된 확장된 JPEG파일 구조인 EXIF형식의 경우 이미지에 대한 정보를 많이 포함하고 있기 때문에 이를 검색에 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 이미지에 대한 정보는 여러 목적에 따라 다를 수 있기 때문에 모든 종류의 가능한 이미지 정보 포맷을 미리 지정해 두기에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 사용자가 이미지 정보의 특성 자체를 정의하여 첨가시킬 수 있다면 더 사용자의 용도에 맞는 이미지 검색이 가능하게 될 것이다. 이렇게 이미지에 대한 정보 목록 자체를 추가할 수 있도록 하기 위한 방안으로 새로운 JPEG 파일 포맷인 JPEG2000에 있는 XML BOX를 이용하였다. 사용자가 추가하고 싶은 이미지 정보를 직접 정의하여 입력하면 XML 생성기에 의해서 이에 따른 XML코드가 생성되고 JPEG2000의 XML BOX에 정보가 추가되어 이를 검색에 활용할 수 있도록 시스템을 설계하였다.

This paper proposes a new JPEG format, All-in-JPEG, which can include not only multiple photos but also various media such as audio and text by extending the JPEG format. All-in-JPEG add images, audio, and text at the existing JPEG file, and stores meta information by utilizing the APP3 segment of JPEG. With All-in-JPEG, smartphone users can save many pictures taken in burst shots in one file, and it is also very convenient to share them with others. In addition, you can create a live photo, such as saving a short audio at the time of taking a photo or moving a part of the photo. In addition, it can be used for various applications such as a photo diary app that stores images, voices, and diary text in a single All-in-JPEG file. In this paper, we developed an app that creates and edits All-in-JPEG, a photo diary app, and a magic photo function, and verified feasibility of the All-in-JPEG through them.

이미지 압축은 이미지 및 영상처리에서 주요한 역할을 하며, 자율주행, 클라우드, 영상 송출 등의 분야에서 빅데이터를 처리해야 하는 수요가 늘어남에 따라 지속적인 연구가 진행 중이다. 그 중심에는 딥러닝(deep learning)의 발전이 자리잡고 있으며, 심층 신경망(deep neural network)을 효과적으로 학습하는 알고리즘들을 적용한 논문들은 기존 압축 포맷인 JPEG, JPEG 2000, MPEG 등의 압축 성능을 뛰어넘는 결과를 보여 주고 있다. 이에 따라 JPEG AI는 딥러닝 기반 학습 이미지 압축의 표준을 제정하는 일을 진행 중이다. 본 기고에서는 JPEG AI가 표준화하고자 하는 기술과 JPEG AI에 제안한 압축 프레임워크들을 분석하고, 활용 사례들을 소개하여 JPEG AI 기반 학습 이미지 압축 모델의 동향에 대해 알아보고자 한다.

멀티미디어 데이터 중에서도 많은 부문의 응용에 사용되는 이미지 데이터의 내용 기반 검색에 대한 연구가 활발히 이뤄지고 있지만, 기조의 내용 기반 이미지 검색 대부분이 대상으로 삼고 있는 임지 포맷과는 달리 현재 이용되는 대부분의 이미지는 압축된 상태이다. 이미지 압축의 표준으로 사용되는 JPEG 압축 이미지에 대해서 압축 상태에서 특성을 추출하고 이를 검색에 이용하면 기존의 방법에 비해 압축을 해제하는 비용을 줄일 수 있고 블록 정보를 이용하는 장점을 가지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 JPEG 압축 이미지에서 블록 단위의 정보를 가진 특성으로 추출해내고 이를 사용한 이미지 검색 기법을 제안한다.

The Music Player MAF Player Format of ISO/IEC 23000-2 FDIS consists of MP3 data, MPEG-7 metadata and one optional JPEG image data based on MPEG-4 File Format. However, the current Music Player MAF format does not allow multiple JPEG image data or timed text data. It is helpful to use timed text data and multiple JPEG images in the various multimedia applications. For example, listening material for the foreign language needs an additional book which has text and images, the audio contents which can get image and text data can be helpful to understand the whole story and situations well. In this paper, we propose the detailed file structure in conjunction with MPEG-4 File Format in order to improve the functionalities, which carry multiple image data and text data with synchronization information between MP3 data and other resources.

Electronic records are merely series of bits without understanding the formats of content files. There are numerous types of formats and also possibilities of extinction. For long term preservation, it is essential to understand and manage formats. In addition to managing format itself, accurate information on the format needs to be stored for electronic records. In this study, various types of electronic files, without checking with the naked eye, has developed a tool to extract the header information in the format of electronic files with the file extension validation tool to compare format and validate digital component.
