한국 벤처캐피탈의 투자성과에 대한 실증적 연구 (The Performances and Character of Korean Venture Capital - focus on the Venture index in Kosdaq -)

  • 우리나라와 국가 규모가 비슷한 이스라엘의 경우에는 벤처캐피탈이 정부주도로 출범한 후 육성되었다. 이러한 벤처캐피탈의 특성은 창업자가 연구개발에만 전념할 수 있어서 제품의 품질을 높일 수 있으며 동시에 사업이나 제품 완성도를 높일 수 있는 부가가치가 큰 중요한 금융업이 될 전망이다. 이번 연구에서는 이러한 벤처캐피탈이 가지고 있는 위험특성에 대한 분석과 위험을 고려한 투자성과 평가를 행하였다. 이번 연구에서는 선행연구와 동일하게 비체계적 위험이 체계적 위험보다 큰 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 소수의 지역이나 업종에 집중투자한 결과로 보인다. 위험을 고려한 투자성과분석을 위하여 총위험을 고려한 Sharpe척도와 체계적 위험을 고려한 평가모형 Jensen척도를 토대로 종합주가지수와 코스닥 벤처지수, 벤처캐피탈의 성과를 비교분석에서는 벤처캐피탈의 위험과 투자성과가 크게 낮은 것으로 파악되었다. 이는 Sharpe 및 Jensen 척도에서 검증이 된 것으로 (-)로서 시장포트폴리오(종합주가지수)나 코스닥 벤처지수 보다 투자성과가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이번 연구의 한계점으로는 하지만 표본의 수가 짧은 문제점을 지니고 있다.

담배가루이 Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius)(Homoptera: Aleyrodidae)의 형태적 특징과 DNA 표식자에 의한 biotype 판별 (Morphological Characteristics of Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius) (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) and Discrimination of Their Biotypes in Korea by DNA Makers)

  • 임의증폭 다형 DNA(RAPD)와 미토콘드리아 12S, 16S rRNA 유전자의 제한단편 DNA 표식자에 의해 한국에서 발생하는 담배가루이 개체군들의 biotype을 판별하였다. 진천의 장미 온실과 서울 내곡동의 포인세티아 온실에서 발생한 담배가루이는 일본, 이스라엘, 호주의 B biotype 과 동일한 DNA 단편들을 보유하였다. 여러 지역의 노지 콩 (Glycine max), 고구마 (Ipomea batatas), 들깨 (Perilla frutescens)에서 채집된 담배가루이 개체군들은 일본 시코쿠의 인동덩굴(Lonicera japonica)에서 채집된 담배가루이와 같은 DNA로 표식되었다. 이들 non-B biotype은 한국, 일본 등 극동아시아 지역에 고유한 계통으로 보인다. 최근 한국에서 발견된 담배가루이 Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius)의 주사전자현미경 관찰에 의한 형태적 특정을 온실 원예작물의 주요해충인 온실가루이 Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood)와 비교하여 기재하였다.

요통 환자의 요추 주변 근육 단면적과 신체안정성(Stability), 체중심(Center of Pressure)과의 관련성 : 동적평형검사(Tetrax)를 중심으로 (The Association between Cross-section of Lumbar Regional Muscle analyzed by MRI and Stability, Center of Pressure assessed by Tetrax)

  • Objectives : To identify the association between cross-sectional area of lumbar regional muscle and stability(ST), center of pressure(COP) assessed by tetrax. Methods : Patients(n=55) who had taken L-SPINE MRI and Tetrax(Sunlight, Israel) were analyzed retrospectively. To evaluate the cross-sectional area of lumbar regional muscle, L-SPINE MRI was used. Data of ST, COP were accumulated by using dynamic equilibrium analysis by Tetrax. Of the lumbar regional muscles, the Psoas muscles and the Paraspinalis muscles were examined. Using Pearson correlation, we analyzed COP, ST and the difference between the cross-sectional area of lumbar regional muscles. Results : The variance of cross-sectional area of both sides of Psoas muscle and COP had moderate positive correlation(r=0.621). Between variance of cross-sectional area of both sides of Paraspinalis and lumbar regional muscle and COP there was low positive correlation(r=0.287, r=0.329) ST also had low correlation with variance of cross-sectional area of both sides of Psoas muscle. Conclusion : The variance of cross-sectional area between both sides of Psoas muscle had moderate correlation with COP.

해외 주요국 벤처육성 모델의 국내 적용 적합성에 관한 연구 (A study on appropriate venture promotion model to korea among major foreign countries' venture policy)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 가장 성공적인 벤처육성 사례를 보이고 있는 미국, 이스라엘, 독일, 핀란드, 중국의 벤처육성 정책을 살펴보고 이들 중 국내 벤처 발전을 위해 유용한 모델, 적용이 용이한 모델, 적용에 적합한 모델, 그리고 국내 적용이 적합한 이유와 부적합한 이유를 파악하고 이를 통해 국내 벤처육성과 발전을 위한 정책적 시사점을 도출하려 하였다. 연구방법은 '전문가 합의법'이라 불리는 델파이 조사 기법을 활용하여 50명의 벤처전문가 패널을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였다. 델파이 조사 연구결과 핀란드의 벤처육성 정책이 유용성, 용이성, 적합성에서 가장 높은 평가를 얻었다. 핀란드처럼 민,관,산,학,연이 유기적인 활동을 통한 벤처생태계를 구축하는 것이 국내 벤처 정책에 최우선적으로 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 예전의 한국에서 실시한 정부 주도하에 민간이 따라오는 벤처 육성 정책은 더 이상 적합하지 않는 것으로 분석되었다.

항공보안에서의 프로파일링 연구 (A Study on the Profiling System in the Aviation Security)

  • As intellectual terror threats increase, we feel the limit in coping with those threats and the things we do are placing traditional X-ray machines & ETD and increasing aviation security staffs. In fact, even if air transportation system is the fast and most efficient transportation methods, it is true that there are many inconveniences to endure due to terror threats. In the name of security, even if we make a lot of efforts and time to screen both good-natured passengers, baggage, cargo and suspicious passengers, it is impossible to screen perfectly and it is not an efficient methods. Therefore, we introduce profiling system that reduce the effort to screen good-natured passengers but focus on screening dangerous passengers and baggages. Profiling system strengthens aviation security, using the concept "Selection & Concentration". Israel started to introduce manual profiling system in aviation security, which is interviewing suspicious passengers and it has been used in crime investigation since 1960. And it has been upgraded and diversified to CAPPS(Computer Assisted Passenger Screening Program) and SPOT(Screening Passenger by Observation). So, this theses is to study on the concept & kind of profiling and profiling methods adopted in airlines. Also it presents the method of introduction of profiling system in Korea and the necessity of making law on it.

테러대비를 위한 CBRNE교육 선진사례 분석에 관한 연구 (Contrast Analysis for CBRN attacks on educational research and best practices)

  • This study is to protect peoples' life, minimize the property damage by coping with threats quickly and take more preventive measures in advance against nuclear bomb, CBR, and potential explosive. For this, CBRNE(Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) program research was used. Thanks to advance in technology, terrorist groups and even individuals make or keep nuclear and CBR weapons. And also it's likely that disaster and threats from a toxic gas, acute pathogens, accidents in the nuclear power plants and a high explosive could be happened a lot. Recently more organized terrorist groups maintain random attacks for unspecified individuals and also it's highly likely that a large-scale terrorist attack by WMD and CBRNEwill be done. To take strict measures against CBRNE attacks by terrorists is on the rise as an urgent national task. Moreover biological weapons are relatively easy and inexpensive to obtain or produce and cause mass casualties with a small amount. For this reason, more than 25 countries have already possessed them. In the 21 st century, the international safety environment marks the age of complicated threats : transnational threats such as comprehensive security and terror, organized crime, drug smuggling, illegal trade of weapons of mass destruction, and environmental disruption along with traditional security threats. These cause military threats, terror threats, and CBRNE threats in our daily life to grow. Therefore it needs to come up with measures in such areas as research development, policy, training program. Major industrial nations on CBRNE like USA, Canada, Switzerland, and Israel have implemented various educational programs. These researches could be utilized as basic materials for drawing up plans for civil defense, emergency services and worldwide countermeasures against CBRNE.

Comparison of Balance and Fall Efficacy of Virtual Reality Program in Elderly Women with Fall Experience

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was a virtual reality-based balance training program effective for improvement in physical function, examined the balance ability and fall efficacy of elderly women with experienced falls, intending to examine the program's usefulness as an exercise program to prevent the recurrence of a fall. Methods: The participants were 30 elderly women aged 65 or older who met the conditions. The participants were randomly assigned to either a balance training group (BT) or a virtual reality-based balance training group (VT) and received the training three times per week, 30 minutes per day, for six weeks. To measure static balance, the Tetrax Portable Multiple System (Tetrax Ltd, Israel) were used. To measure dynamic balance, the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and functional reach test (FRT) was used, and regarding fall efficacy, the Korean Fall Efficacy Scale (K-FES) was used. Results: Tetrax significantly improved after the intervention in both the BT group and the VT group (p<0.05). The comparison between the two groups was not significantly. BBS and FRT result significantly improved after the intervention in both the BT and VT groups (p<0.001), while K-FES was significantly ameliorated in the VT group only (p<.05). Comparing the groups, there were more significant changes in the BBS (p<0.05) and FRT (p<0.01) result of the VT group than the BT group. Conclusion: A virtual reality-based balance training program is considered to be usable as an exercise program to prevent recurrence of falls in elderly women.

고령인구 비율이 높은 지역 장년, 노년층의 건강.영양상태 및 이에 영향을 미치는 인자에 관한 연구 - II. 남자의 골밀도와 이에 영향을 미치는 식이요인분석 - (Nutritional Status and Related Factors of Residents Aged Over 50 in Longevity Areas - II, Effect of Dietary Factors on Bone Ultrasound Measurements in Aged Men -)

  • This study was conducted to examine dietary factors affecting bone status in the rural aged men. Quantitative ultrasound measurements (QUS) of bone, that may reflect certain architectural aspects of bone, have been shown to be associated with bone mineral density and fracture. Information of diet and anthropometry was collected in 164 aged men. Dietary intake data were obtained by 24-hour recall method. Measurements of the speed of sound (SOS, m/s), at distal radius, mid-tibia, phalanx, were performed using Omnisense 7000S analyzer (Sunlight Ltd., Tel Aviv, Israel). T-scores for bone SOS measurements at distal radius, mid-tibia and phalanx were 0.60, 0.03 and -0.42 respectively. The prevalence of osteopenia by use of the WHO criteria was 17.7% at the mid-tibia and 25.3% of the subjects at the distal radius. Age were negative association with bone SOS at three sites. Osteopenia group of radius were significantly lower in total foods and vegetable intakes than normal group. After adjusted for age, vegetable intakes were significantly and positively related to bone SOS at the radius. The bone SOS of the tibia were significantly and positively related to vegetable protein, iron, folate and vegetable intakes, but negatively related to fat intakes. Multiple regression analysis showed that bone SOS of tibia was positively associated with folate intakes. Vegetable intakes were positively associated with the bone SOS at three sites. These results indicate that the consumption of vegetables, sources of folate, may have a effect on bone status of men.

Comparison of small bowel findings using capsule endoscopy between Crohn's disease and intestinal tuberculosis in Korea

  • Background: Little is known about capsule endoscopy (CE) findings in patients with intestinal tuberculosis who exhibit small bowel lesions. The aim of the present study was to distinguish between Crohn's disease (CD) and intestinal tuberculosis based on CE findings. Methods: Findings from 55 patients, who underwent CE using PillCam SB CE (Given Imaging, Yoqneam, Israel) between February 2003 and June 2015, were retrospectively analyzed. Results: CE revealed small bowel lesions in 35 of the 55 patients: 19 with CD and 16 with intestinal tuberculosis. The median age at diagnosis for patients with CD was 26 years and 36 years for those with intestinal tuberculosis. On CE, three parameters, ≥10 ulcers, >3 involved segments and aphthous ulcers, were more common in patients with CD than in those intestinal tuberculosis. Cobblestoning was observed in five patients with CD and in none with intestinal tuberculosis. The authors hypothesized that a diagnosis of small bowel CD could be made when the number of parameters in CD patients was higher than that for intestinal tuberculosis. The authors calculated that the diagnosis of either CD or intestinal tuberculosis would have been made in 34 of the 35 patients (97%). Conclusion: The number of ulcers and involved segments, and the presence of aphthous ulcers, were significantly higher and more common, respectively, in patients with CD than in those with intestinal tuberculosis. Cobblestoning in the small bowel may highly favor a diagnosis of CD on CE.

Exploring Occupational and Behavioral Risk Factors for Obesity in Firefighters: A Theoretical Framework and Study Design

  • Firefighters and police officers have the third highest prevalence of obesity among 41 male occupational groups in the United States (US). However, few studies have examined the relationship of firefighter working conditions and health behaviors with obesity. This paper presents a theoretical framework describing the relationship between working conditions, health behaviors, and obesity in firefighters. In addition, the paper describes a detailed study plan for exploring the role of occupational and behavioral risk factors in the development of obesity in firefighters enrolled in the Orange County Fire Authority Wellness Fitness Program. The study plan will be described with emphasis on its methodological merits: adopting a participatory action research approach, developing a firefighter-specific work and health questionnaire, conducting both a cross-sectional epidemiological study using the questionnaire and a sub-study to assess the validity of the questionnaire with dietary intake and physical activity measures, and evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the body mass index as an obesity measure in comparison to skinfold-based percent body fat. The study plan based on a theoretical framework can be an essential first step for establishing effective intervention programs for obesity among professional and voluntary firefighters.
