Quality Characteristics of Rice $Makgeolli$ Prepared by Mashing Types (담금유형에 따른 쌀 막걸리 술덧의 품질특성)

  • Six different mashing types ((A) $koji$+purified enzyme, (B) $koji$+crude enzyme, (C) $koji$+$nuruk$, (D) $koji$+purified enzyme+$nuruk$, (E) $koji$+crude enzyme+$nuruk$, (F) purified enzyme+$nuruk$) had been established, according to fermentation agents and a mixing rate of rice $makgeolli$, in this study. The alcohol content was the highest in the mashing type (C), which was 13.6%, followed by (D) 13.5%, (A) 13.1%, (B) 12.9%, (E) 12.7% and (F) 12.1%. The reducing sugar content of (A) was the highest with 401.6 mg% and those of (B), (C), (D) and (F) were between 337.3- 380.9 mg%. The alcohol components were found and tended to increase during the fermentation. The oligo-saccharides content was the highest in (D) with 1251.3 mg%, which was followed by (E) 1,219.2 mg%, (C) 1,141.4 mg%, (A) 1,049.9 mg% and 973.8 mg% in (B). The total free amino acid was highest in (B) with 781.4 mg% and followed by (C) 703.2 mg%, (D) 702.6 mg%, (E) 678.7 mg%, (A) 630.4 mg% and (F) 328.7 mg% in order. There were 16 different types of volatile flavor components, in the mashing types (A) and (B), in addition to 15 different types of those in type (C), as well as 14 different types of those in (D), (E) and (F). There were significant differences in the overall preference between the type (A) and (C).

  • 강재의 방식법 중 도장은 부식을 억제하는데 효과적이고 편리한 방법으로 선박 및 해양 강 구조물의 방식법으로 사용되고 있다. 한편, 강 구조물의 효율적인 유지관리를 위해서는 방식 도장의 도막 열화도를 평가하고 잔존 수명을 예측하여 최적 시기에 보수도장 혹은 재도장하는 것이 필요하다. 일반적으로 선박 및 해양구조물에 적용되는 도막의 방식 성능 평가 방법으로 해수 침지 시험, 염수 분무 시험, 옥외 폭로 시험 등이 있다. 그러나 이러한 시험들은 그 시험 방법에 따라서 정량적인 평가에 한계가 있음은 물론 장기간 소요되는 등 곤란한 문제점이 있다. 그러므로 선박 및 해양구조물을 비롯하여 교량, 각종 강 구조물의 도장 방식에 사용되는 방식용 도료의 성능을 단기간에 적절하게 평가할 수 있는 가속시험법이 제시되며 연구-사용되고 있다. 그 중 도막 방식 성능을 보다 효율적, 비파괴적, 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 임피던스 분광법(EIS)과 같은 전기화학적 방법은 상대적으로 시험 기간을 크게 단축시킬 수 있고, 대상 방식 도장의 미세한 성능 차이도 분별 가능하다는 장점이 있다[1]. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선박 및 해양구조물 등 가혹한 부식환경에서 강력한 내구성을 가질 수 있도록 다양한 종류의 표면처리 도장 시편을 제작하여 자외선 조사-염수분무-침지환경 등의 열악한 환경조건 하에서 부식-열화 촉진 시험을 실시하였다. 그리고 그 촉진 열화 과정에서 도막의 외관 상태를 관찰 분석함은 물론 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법을 병행 측정하며 그 표면막의 부식 및 도막 열화도를 비교-종합 평가하였다.본 연구에 사용된 시편은 Al 및 Zn 도금 강판에 에폭시, 에폭시-실리콘 우레탄, 에폭시-우레탄 도장 시편으로 Scribe, No Scribe 및 비교재 Al 및 Zn 도금 시편으로 분류하여 각각 실험을 진행하였다. 즉, 도막 열화 시험은 복합 노화 시험법으로 UV 조사 36 시간(ASTM G53), 염수분무 32 시간(ISO 7253), 수분 응축 10 시간을 1 Cycle로 100 Cycle(7800 시간) 동안 실험을 진행하였다. 이때 도막 열화도 평가는 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법을 이용하여 각 실험 조건별로 주파수에 따른 임피던스(Z) 값을 평가하였다. 즉, 상온 $25^{\circ}C$의 3.5% NaCl 100 ml 수용액에 작동 전극(Working Electrode)과 구리 도선을 통해 연결하였고, 노출 면적은 $1cm^2$로 일정하게 유지 하였으며, 상대 전극(Counter Electrode)은 탄소봉, 기준 전극(Reference Electrode)으로 포화카로멜전극(Saturated Calomel Electrode)을 사용하여 측정하였다. No Scribe 시편의 경우에는 Al 기판 에폭시-실리콘 우레탄 도장 시편이 우수한 도막 저항성을 나타내었으며, 에폭시-우레탄 도장시편은 23사이클 이후의 저항값이 가장 낮게 나타났다. Zn 기판의 경우는 에폭시, 에폭시-실리콘 우레탄, 에폭시-우레탄 도장 시편 모두 저항 값이 유사하였으며, Al 및 Zn 도금 시편은 도장 처리된 시편에 비해 훨씬 낮은 저항 값을 보였다. 또한 Scribe 시편의 경우에는 Al 기판 에폭시-실리콘 우레탄 도장 시편에서 높은 초기 저항 값을 보였으며, 23 사이클 후의 저항 값은 세 종류의 도막에서 약 1~0.1 Gohm 으로 나타났다. 그리고 Zn 기판 에폭시-실리콘 우레탄 도장 시편에서 가장 낮은 도막 저항 값이 나타났다. 이상의 실험을 통해서 본 연구 내용은 실내촉진시험으로 선박 및 해양 강 구조물에 사용되는 다양한 종류의 도막의 열화도를 평가하는 기초 설계 지침으로 응용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 한편, 도막은 노출 환경에 따라 방식 성능이 다르므로 실제 도막의 사용환경을 고려하여 도장 사양별 적용 부위에 따른 적정 가속 실험 방법을 선정할 필요가 있다고 사료된다.

Genomic Organization and Promoter Characterization of the Murine Glial Cell-derived Neurotrophic Factor Inducible Transcription Factor (mGIF) Gene (생쥐 신경교세포 유래 신경영양인자 유도성 전사인자 (mGIF) 유전자의 유전체 구조 및 프로모터 특성 분석)

  • To study the transcriptional mechanisms by which expression of the murine glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor inducible transcription factor (mGIF) gene is regulated, a murine genomic clone was iso-lated using a mGIF cDNA as probe. A 13-kb genomic fragment, which comprises 4-kb upstream of the transcription initiation site was sequenced. The promoter region lacks a TATA box and CAAT box, is rich in G+C content, and has multiple putative binding sites for the transcription factor Spl. The mGIF gene also has consensus sequences for AP2 binding sites. The transcriptional activity of five deletion mutants of a 2.1-kb fragment was analyzed by modulating transcription of the heterologous luciferase gene in the promoterless plasmid pGL2-Basic. All mutants showed significant transcriptional activity in the murine neuroblastoma cell line NB41A3. Transient expression assays suggested the presence of a positive regulator between -213 and -129 while a negative regulator was found in the region between -806 and -214. Relatively strong transcriptional activity was observed in neuronal NB41A3, glial C6 cells and hepatic HepG2, but very weak activity in skeletal muscle C2C12 cells. These findings confirm the tissue-specific activity of the mGIF promoter and suggest that this gene shares structural and functional similarities with the dopamine receptor genes that it regulates.

Effect of Freezing and Thawing Methods on Duck Meat Characteristics (냉동과 해동 방법이 오리고기의 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This work was carried out to investigate effects of the freezing/thawing method on duck meat kept in a freezer for a month. The meats used were breast muscle collected from Korean native ducks (KND) that were fed for 8 weeks (2.8 kg of live weight). Forty-five samples were used after being frozen in storage for one month and were then divided into 5 treatments (3 replications/treatment, 3 samples/replication). Five treatments (CON, FFFT, FFST, SFFT and SFST) were control groups (CON) and four were experimental groups, using $2{\times}2$ complex factors with two freezing methods (fast freezing, FF, $-50^{\circ}C$ in a deep freezer; slow freezing, SF, $-20^{\circ}C$ in a common freezer) and two thawing methods (fast thawing, FT, 5 h $12^{\circ}C$ with flow water; slow thawing, ST, 24 h $5^{\circ}C$ in a refrigerator). Lightness of KND meat in FF and FT groups was lower than that of control (P<0.05). Yellowness of KND meat of the ST group was higher than that of control (P<0.05). Cooking loss (CL) and water holding capacity (WHC) of KND meat in the control were lower than those of the freezing and thawing groups (P<0.01, P<0.05), but shear force (SF) of the control was higher than that of other groups (P<0.01). Moisture content of the ST group was higher than that of the FT group (P<0.05), and protein content of the FF group was higher than that of control (P<0.05). Stearic acid (C18:0) of the SF group was higher than that of the FF group (P<0.05). Arachidonic acid (C20:4n6) of control was higher than that of the SF and ST groups (P<0.01, P<0.05). Alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, serine, and tyrosine content of the control were lower than that of the freezing and thawing groups (P<0.05). These results show that freezing and thawing methods affect meat color, shear force, cooking loss, and WHC-related water content.

  • Ground electronic structures and SNreactivities of a series of alkylchlorides (methyl,ethyl, iso-propyl, trans n-butyl, sec-butyl, tert-butylchloride) have been studied using approximate $({\sigma}-MO)$ method, such as EHT and CNDO/2. It was found that CNDO/2 gives better results for the systems such as alkylchlorides whose structural differences are not remarkable, in comparison with EHT method. According to CNDO/2 results, calculated dipole moments for alkylchlorides are slightly higher than observed values, showing the order of primary < secondary < tertiary alkylchlorides. It was also found that highest occupied(HO) MO's are completely or nearly degenerate, and show relatively weak $\pi$-antibonding nature between$\alpha$-carbon and Cl atoms. Furthermore, the electrons in this MO are largely confined to Cl atom, and hence these behaves as likely as p-lone pair electrons of Cl atom. On the contrary, lowest unoccupied (LU) MO's show strong $\sigma$-antibonding nature between $\alpha$-carbon and Cl atoms whose electron clouds are directed along the C-Cl axis. It has been discussed that the$S_N2$ reactivities of alkylchlorides may largely be controlled by ${\sigma}^{\ast}$ LUMO, and the antibonding strength between $\alpha$-carbon and Cl atoms in this MO may become the measure of $S_N2$reactivity. The relationship between $S_N2$reactivity and C-Cl bond polarizability has also been discussed. It has been suggested that the unique structure factors determining $S_N1$reactivities may be $\pi$-antibonding strength between $\alpha$-carbon and Cl atoms in HOMO and C-Cl bond strength in ground state.

Flexural Properties according to Change of Polymerization Temperature of Autopolymerized Resin for Orthodontic (치과 교정용 자가중합형 Resin의 중합 온도 변화에 따른 굽힘 특성)

  • For this experiment, specimen was manufactured by injecting polymer and monomer into silicon mold with volume ratio of 2.5:1 based on ISO 20795-2 so that average thickness, width and length of specimen would be maintained as 3.3 mm, 10.0 mm and 65.0 mm, respectively depending on spray on technique. Specimen was divided into 3 groups ($25^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$) depending on polymerization temperature and 10 specimen was manufactured for each group and it was polymerized in water tank of ${\pm}1^{\circ}C$ under the setting condition of polymerization time of 15 minutes and pressure of 3 bar. After keeping specimen in distilled water of $37^{\circ}C$ for over 48 hours before experiment, flexural strength (FS) and elasticity modulus (EM) of specimen being tested by using Intron (3344; Instron; Instron). SPSS ver. 16.0 was used for analysis and post-hoc test of Scheffe was performed after using one-way ANOVA. When comparing mean value of FS of resin for orthodontics, it was represented in the range of 71.500 MPa for $25^{\circ}C$ group, 74.920 MPa for $40^{\circ}C$ group and 76.880 MPa for $70^{\circ}C$ group and difference was shown in the order of $25^{\circ}C$ group <$40^{\circ}C$ group <$70^{\circ}C$ group but such difference was not significant statistically (p=0.052). Result of EM mean value of resin for orthodontics was more polymerization temperature was high, the more was significant difference represented in the order of $25^{\circ}C$ group <$40^{\circ}C$ group <$70^{\circ}C$ group (p<0.039).

  • Multithreaded models improve the efficiency of parallel systems by combining inner parallelism, asynchronous data availability and the locality of von Neumann model. This model executes thread code which is generated by compiler and of which quality is given by the method of generation. But multithreaded models have the demerit that execution model is restricted to a specific platform. On the contrary, Java has the platform independency, so if we can translate from threads code to Java bytecode, we can use the advantages of multithreaded models in many platforms. Java executes Java bytecode which is intermediate language format for Java virtual machine. Java bytecode plays a role of an intermediate language in translator and Java virtual machine work as back-end in translator. But, Java bytecode which is translated from multithreaded models have the demerit that it is not secure. This paper, multhithread code whose feature of platform independent can execute in java virtual machine. We design and implement translator which translate from thread code of multithreaded code to Java bytecode and which check secure problems from Java bytecode.

Comparison of screw-in effect of three NiTi file systems used by undergraduates (학생들이 사용한 세 종류 NiTi file systems의 screw-in effect 비교)

  • The purposes of this study were to compare the apical terminus width of simulated curved root canal prepared with three NiTi file systems used by undergraduates for evaluation the effects of flute angle and pitch or radial land on reducing screw-in effect and to determine more safe NiTi file system for inexperienced operators. Fifty inexperienced undergraduate students prepared 150 simulated curved root canals in resin blocks with three NiTi file systems ; ProFile$^{(R)}$, Hero Shaper$^{(R)}$, K3$^{TM}$. The electric motor set at a speed of 300 rpm and torque of 30 in a 16 : 1 reduction handpiece was used. The simulated root canal was prepared to ISO #25 sizes with each file system. The scanned images of pre- and post-instrumented canal of resin block were superimposed. To evaluate the screw-in effect of three NiTi file systems, apical terminus width of root canal was measured from superimposed images and statistical analysis was performed. There were significant differences in three NiTi flle systems. ProFile$^{(R)}$ had significantly smaller width than Hero Shaper$^{(R)}$ and K3$^{TM}$"" (P < 0.05), but no significant difference was observed between K3$^{TM}$ and Hero Shaper$^{(R)}$. Under the condition of this study, active file system (Hero SHaper$^{(R)}$, K3$^{TM}$) with variable pitch and helical angle had more screw-in effect than passive file system (ProFile$^{(R)}$) with constant pitch and helical angle. It seems that the radial lands play more important role in reducing screw-in effect.

MICROLEAKAGE OF THE CLASS V CAVITY ACCORDING TO RESTORATION SITE AND CAVITY SIZE USING SEM AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL RECONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES (SEM과 3차원 재구성법을 이용한 수복면의 위치와 와동 크기에 따른 미세누출도 분석)

  • This study was done to evaluate whether there were any differences in microleakage of class V composite restorations according to restoration site and cavity size. Total sixty-four restorations were made in molar teeth using Esthet-X. Small ($2\;{\times}\;2\;{\times}\;1.5\;mm$) and large ($4{\times}2{\times}1.5\;mm$) restorations were made at the buccal/lingual surface and the proximal surface each. After 1,000 times of thermocycling ($5^{\circ}\;-\;55^{\circ}C$), resin replica was made and the percentage of marginal gap to the whole periphery of the restoration was estimated from SEM evaluation. Thermocycled tooth was dye penetrated with $50\%$ silver nitrate solution. After imbedding in an auto-curing resin, it was serially ground with a thickness of 0.25 mm. Volumetric microleakage was estimated after reconstructing three dimensionally. Two-way ANOVA and independent T-test for dye volume, Mann-Whitney U test for the percentage of marginal gap, Spearman's rho test for the relationship between two techniques were used, The results were as follows : 1. The site and size of the restoration affected on the microleakage of restoration. Namely, much more leakage was seen in the proximal and the large restorations rather than the buccal/lingual and the small restorations. 2. Close relationship was found between two techniques (Correlation coefficient = 0.614/ P = 0.000). Within the limits of this study, it was noted that proximal and the large restorations leaked more than buccal/lingual and the small restorations. Therefore, it should be strictly recommended large exposure of margins should be avoided by reducing unnecessary tooth reduction.

Registration and Description of Public Records in Korea : A Comparative Analysis of Korean Recordskeeping System with the International Standards (한국의 기록물 둥록 및 기술에 대한 기록관리적 접근)

  • Registration and description of records are important elements of processing which provide with the background information of production of records and business-related information. They also enable to search and use the records. In this paper, I examined the Korean registration and description system defined in the Public Records Management Act which directs the records creating agency to register records in creating offices and directs the "professional archives" to make "basic registrations" and "detailed registrations" of the records. In the analysis and comparison of two different registration and description systems with the known international standards of records and archives management, such as ISO15489 and ISAD(G), I intended to evaluate the Korean records and archives management system and suggested recommendations for the renovation of the Korean recordskeeping system. Despite we have unique office business procedures and the culture of officialdom, and despite we have developed our system based on the established business procedures and office culture, it would be preferable to adopt or follow the international standards and established best practices. After the comparative analysis, I recommended some innovations in the filed of registration and description. For instance, in the basic registration. we would better to install an item of "simple contents summary." We may also need the multiple-level description. The fonds level description and the series level description should be introduced to our archival automated management system. We need to establish a Korean standard of description adopting the rules of the ISAD(G) and ISAAR(CPF). Essential requirements for electronic records management, such as contextual and structural information, should be incorporated in the new standard. Documentation of records disposition also should be reinforced to guarantee the authenticity of records and to ensure control of the records. To implement the recommendations for the standard, we need to amend the Public Records Management Act and its Regulations and Rules. Also it is imperative to redesign the GARS integrated archival automated management system.
