The F3D(Free-Form Formwork 3D Printer) technology that manufactures EPS(Expanded Polystyrene) formworks for irregular-shaped concrete structures by 3D printers was developed to reduce the cost and time. Because of weak strength and low elastic modulus of the EPS, structural performance including lateral pressure by fresh concrete of the formwork that consisted of EPS should be investigated. In order to calculate lateral pressures acting on formwork, several variables including sizes, shapes of formwork, tangential force(fricition) between fresh concrete and formwork, and material properties of fresh concrete should be considered. However, current regulations have not considered the properties of concrete, only focused on vertical formwork. Galleo introduced 3-dimensional finite element analysis models to calculate lateral pressure on formwork. Thus, proposed finite element analysis model based on previous studies were verified for vertical formwork and irregular-shaped formwork. The test results were compared with those by FEM analysis. As a result, the test agrees well with the analysis.

Construction techniques and materials are developing and structures are designed to be irregular shaped, and therefore more detailed structural analysis is required. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cause of accidents related to falsework systems during construction and discuss prevention methods in order to prevent accidents relate to prefabricated shoring system during construction. In this paper structural analysis was conducted to study the influence of slab irregularity on system supports and analysis to investigate the participation of the bracing in the system support.
Recently, there have been some reported examples of structural collapse due to gravity, subsequent to damage from accident or an excitation that was not prepared for in the design process. A close view of new concepts, such as a redundancy and key elements, has been taken with the aim of ensuring the robustness of a structure, even in the event of an unexpected disturbance. The author previously proposed a sensitivity index of the vertical load carrying capacity to member disappearance for framed structures. The index is defined as the ratio of the load carrying capacity after a member or a set of an adjacent member disappears, to the original load carrying capacity. The member with the highest index may be regarded as a key element. The concept of bio-mimicry is being applied to various fields of engineering, and tree-shaped structures are sometimes used for the design of building structures. In this study a sensitivity analysis is applied to the irregular-framed structures such as tree-shaped structures.
Based on the test on a 1/2.5-scaled model of a two-bay and three-story inner frame composed of reinforced concrete beams and lattice steel reinforced concrete (SRC) irregular section columns under low cyclic reversed loading, the failure process and the features of the frame were observed. The subsequence of plastic hinges of the structure, the load-displacement hysteresis loops and the skeleton curve, load bearing capacity, inter-story drift ratio, ductility, energy dissipation and stiffness degradation were analyzed. The results show that the lattice SRC inner frame is a typical strong column-weak beam structure. The hysteresis loops are spindle-shaped, and the stiffness degradation is insignificant. The elastic-plastic inter-story deformation capacity is high. Compared with the reinforced concrete frame with irregular section columns, the ductility and energy dissipation of the structure are better. The conclusions can be referred to for seismic design of this new kind of structure.
Isotropic pitch-based carbon fiber has been activated by steam diluted in nitrogen in order to characterize the microporosity. Especially, 40 wt% burn-off ACFs were prepared from different conditions to compare the pore structure and size. The ACFs were thinly sliced to investigate the inside pores by TEM and image analyzer. As expected, the adsorption characteristics of these ACFs were quite different from one another because of different pore structure and size. Most pores are not slit-shaped but rather round. Small round micropores become broad and irregular as increasing the activation time and temperature.

Recently, Free-Form and Irregular Shape high-rise buildings are constructed by IT technology development. Tilted shaped high-rise building which is one of Irregular shape high-rise buildings can cause lateral displacement by gravity load and lateral load due to tilted elevation shape. Therefore, it is necessary to review the behavior and structural aspects of the Tilted shape high-rise building by gravity load. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of a tilted structure with a dual-core were analyzed with the core location as a design variable, and response behavior, vulnerable members, and vulnerable layers to earthquake loads were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, as the location of the core moved in an tilted direction, the eccentric distance and eccentric load decreased, reducing the axial force of the vertical members. However, the location of the core had little effect on the response.

The configuration of an open ground floor (pilotis) is a common and very critical irregularity observed in multistory reinforced concrete frame structures. The characteristics and the geometrical formation of the beams of the first story proved to be a critical parameter for the overall seismic behavior of this type of Reinforced Concrete (RC) structures. In this work the combination of open ground floor (pilotis) morphology with very strong perimetrical beams at the level of the first story is studied. The observation of the seismic damages and the in situ measurements of the fundamental period of four buildings with this morphology and Π-shaped plan view are presented herein. Further analytical results of a pilotis type Π-shaped RC structure are also included in the study. From the measurements and the analytical results yield that the open ground floor configuration greatly influences the fundamental period whereas this morphology in combination with strong beams can lead to severe local shear damages in the columns of the ground floor. The structural damage was limited in the columns of the ground floor and yet based on the changes of the in situ measured fundamental period the damaged level is assessed as DI=88%. Furthermore, due to the Π-shape of the plan view the tendency of the parts of the building to move independently strongly influences the distribution of the damages over the ground floor vertical elements.
Irregularities in the structure are crucial factors in screening structural vulnerability under extreme loadings. Numerical analyses were carried out considering wind and seismic loadings for four structures with discrete irregularity: continuous and discontinuous beams with varied story levels, and L-shaped irregular buildings. Structural responses such as maximum displacements, bending moments, axial forces, torsions, and story drifts are evaluated as per the criteria and limits defined by ACI 318. The outcomes indicate that the frame system with beam discontinuity on the upper half of the height exhibits the best structural performance. The results also indicate that the asymmetrical design of the L-shaped model makes it more susceptible to damage when subjected to strong lateral loading conditions.
Acinous gland cells (A, B, C, D and E-type cells) and duct cell (G-type cell) are observed in acinus and in duct of salivary gland of Korean Slug respectively by electron microscope. The type-A gland cells are numerous and are packed with medium electron dense granules (diameter, $3{\mu}m$) in cytoplasm. The circular shaped nucleolus and evenly developed chromatins are observed in the nucleus of type-B cell, and cytoplasm includes medium electron dense granules (diameter, $2.5X3.7{\mu}m$). The type-C gland cell has a round nucleus, and thin elongated-shaped heterochromatins are evenly distributed in the nucleoplasm and many net shaped endoplasmic reticulums and oval serous granules of middle electron density (diameter, $3.5X5{\mu}m$) fill the cytoplasm. The type-D gland cell is the largest and the most numerous of the gland cells consisting the salivary gland and heterochromatins in nucleus are well developed in the nucleoplasm. Most of granules (diameter, $0.8X2.5{\mu}m$) in cytoplasm are round, and look dark for the high electron density, and cytoplasm is filled with net-shaped endoplasmic reticulums. The type-E gland cells are rarely existent around the salivary gland, and the granules of those cells are irregular in shape and size and are vacuolized in cytoplasm. Intralobular salivary duct is composed of the high electron dense squamus endotheliums, while the other interlobular salivary duct is filled with irregular columnar epitheliums. The interlobular duct cell contains the high electron dense granules (size, $0.3{\sim}1.5{\mu}m$) in cytoplasm and those granules are secreted into cilia of salivary lumen.
The supermassive black hole (SMBH) of our Galactic Center is surrounded by the circumnuclear disk (CND) in the radii of about 2-3 pc. New data from the Submillimeter Array and Green Bank Telescope clearly reveal the irregular and clumpy structures of the CND and its surroundings which may be a dynamically evolving integrated system. The CND seems to be the convergence of the various gas streamers inflowing, shaped mostly via local disturbances associated with, rather than a quasi-stationary stable structure.
